2016 All B.I.D. Genetics Grow

When using RO, liquid nutes, and supplements the PH has to be adjusted even using RO water. The problems with my OG Kush experiment were created by me...Soon to be remedied! :cheesygrinsmiley: The outdoor girls get plain ole tap water all the time after transplant to outdoors. I am not having to do much out there, worm castings, bat guano, fish bone meal make up their weekly (poop soup) :cheesygrinsmiley:

Yes, I realize this (since the RO water should be PH 7 and you want your soil PH closer to 6.5), but being a "hydro guy" I'm just not following how you get an accurate soil PH reading that way. :hmmmm:

I guess that's why I'm a hydro guy! :laughtwo:

I think it's abit different Mr Krip I could be wrong but them soil ph things are not running the same as the run off. Don't get me lying because I don't really know 100% what I'm saying but I know what I mean. If that makes sense. But it looks like you got a raised bed going Hozona and I imagine you imported abit of soil there? You are in some real acid soils around there? But if you imported that topsoil I'd imagine it's in the range. I'm no hydro person at all, I bet it was funny to watch me when I was adjusting ph to my water once, while doing a hydro, and that water didn't need adjusting. Up down,,, with like 2 gallons. And don't take much to change that little amount. I said f it and used tap water the next time. Babbling sorry........... Outdoors I rarely ever fertilize anything except the amendments at the start unless something is getting pale on ya. I'm lucky as far as water here. Well kind of, it's so low on the ppm that's it's calcium free damn near. But I dump bone meal in my outdoor. Indoor I got to go lighter on the organics or then damn gnats..... Speaking of the devils one flew past my screen. BB I'm going for the shotgun. JK Keepem Green

I use a GH tester for my hydro, they also make a kit you can check the PH of your soil that I use in the outdoor planters. I have become less of a fan of hydro growing, but they do grow really fast! I am going to try DWC as soon as I can get to the store...maybe tomorrow afternoon....have to take my alcoholic bro to his dependency doctor tomorrow, so I might try afterwards :cheesygrinsmiley:

Run off PH is useless information in my book. Salt residue will adjust runoff. I only care about incoming PH.

Cheers

I like soil all the hard work is front loaded and if you mix your own cheaper I mixed up all the soil I'm using this summer for $40 I may have to make some teas by the end to supplement but I like to water with tap water and not worry. I had a ph issue this past winter, I used some store bought soil, so i did a slurry tests till it was right, I basically ph'd water to 6.5 then measured out a cup of water then mixed it with a table spoon of soil, let it sit 12 hours then rechecked the ph of the slurry it came up to 6.8 so i mixed in sphagnum peat moss i mixed in the peat moss to the soil of the affected plant until the slurry came up 6.5 and the plant grew like crazy after she was able get the nutrients in the soil again Oh and this was after i flushed them just before flower it extended my veg by 10 days

I'm no hydro person. The only way I did was dwc and one with the drip ring. They weren't hard, just they take more work than soil and it isn't forgiving. You make a mistake and your going to know it. Worse thing with soil is forgetting to water. Hey this is only my lazy ass. I hear you can crank out plants in the veg stage, hella fast with hydro. And the weed is comparable. Does save on material and no waste. Take the old fert's and water the garden. Just driving thru Keepem Green

You just described my grow in two sentences or less! :goodjob:
I'm growing in WaterFarms (drip ring) modified with an airstone. When I do res changes, old nutes go to the fruits & veggies, and when I trim/harvest, anything that doesn't get consumed gets composted for more garden soil.
