Howdy everyone, it's been a while since I last updated on here
I have been pretty upset with one of my plants and have been fighting to get her under control. I think I am at a loss with her, and anything that happens will be taken as a lesson learned
We will be discussing the King Tut plant which has not been very well, and many times I just wanted to take it and throw it out, but keep giving her a chance to prove me wrong
It was one of two things that has caused all the burning, either nutes or light being too close.
Now, I was thinking nutes, and have done reading that kept pointing that it was not nute burn but it was a light burn instead.
If you look at the plant, she seems nice on the lower areas and in the middle
Towards the edge of the pot, the plant seems like she is scorched, burned, toasted, crispy or whatever words you wanna use
At the time of the burn the light was set to 12" from the plant. I could feel heat when I placed my arm next to the buds so this made me believe it was a light burn and not nute burn.
I am watering about 1 or 2 times a week now. I have been adding much more water in her just in the event it is a nute burn, and I have cut the feeding in half so it is getting 2ml/L of water now instead of 4ml
I have done a mini flush on her, about 40L went through to where the runoff was almost clear and the pH was 6.3-6.5 runoff
The first runoff was showing a pH of 5.5 - Advanced Nutrients Perfect pH doesn't seem to give the perfect pH unless 5.5 is a good number for runoff with soil ph and water ph being different
Here are a bunch of pictures of King Tut right now
From looking at the plant, the hairs are white, there are a mix of red hairs as well
This is week 6 of flower and she is nowhere near being on schedule for 8 weeks. I am probably looking at 10 or 11 weeks total, so another 4-5 weeks if she dont die on me by then.
Tomorrow I will be removing all the burned tips of the leaves. They fall off to the touch they are that dried and crispy.
I dont care at this point if I get 5 grams off her, she will be grown until she is done or dies.
The buds are not filling out any at all, but she is giving off a very nice smell of lemon or citrus fruits when you move her around. Its not a heavy smell at all, I am quite surprised I honestly though plants would smell a lot when growing and this one has not been giving any odor at all. The lemon smell os only noticeable when you are face first in the bud, or after touching her I smell my hand and can notice the strong lemon smell.
I am also thinking of doing a big flush on her again for the next watering, and not feeding any more nutes from this point forward only pH water. Not sure how much of an issue that will cause by only feeding pH water for the next 4 - 5 weeks but I really have no way to tell what has happened or caused this issue. My cheese plant is thriving and is not showing any signs of burns or anything.
Some say nute burn, but leaves at lower areas are fine, some say light burn, which I can see because the tops are crispy...either way this is an UGLY sight, I really didn't want to share this with you all but it is what it is. I just want some smoke which I dont think I will get from her. I can't even harvest early in the event there is a issue because there really is nothing to smoke, all I have is white and orange hairs and no real buds visible. Hopefully they kick in and swell and give me something to enjoy for the efforts
