1st-ish Grow, California Snow Auto, Help Needed, Day 19

So a 2-3 days since chopping and I’m very happy to say that fresh lawn/damp smell (I’ve read chlorophyll or something) has finally gone and be replaced by that beautiful smell we all love. Some of the smaller branches snap but bigger ones not so I’ll leave till tomorrow to start cure!! Should be fun!

Ive just cleaned up the dry buds and put in jars for curing.

These weighed in at 31gms, the tiny popcorns I pulled off early came to 6gms, so overall 37gms of potent bud thats starting to taste and smell reall good.

Yes, I realise this is a small amount, but for my first grow with the trials and tribulations that went with, plus the baby girl never exceeding 18.5 inches in height I am very happy.

Ive learnt soo much too that I can’t wait to get the new grow going.

Hello good people,

Just a wee update.

It’s now been 12 days since I started the cure.

It went quite well. When I was looking where would be the best hanging place after chopping I noticed that a small built in storage place under the stairs had an RH that never strayed between 58-61% so that for curing it’s real close to the desired 62%. The RH in the jars started high and I’d just use that time to burp for a time, then close and repeat.

I tried it for the first time today!

The strength seems a bit stronger, or may just feel cleaner. Because I’d had gnats just before chop I’d used Hydrogen Peroxide a few times and didn’t really have a chance to flush, maybe a day or two, sorta 6-8 times. I think this effected the taste, slightly fake, harsh.

Anyway, new half cured stuff tastes gorgeous, no harshness at all, and smelt better too, I think!

It should need more curing but I’ll definitely keep some out for now.

Them sticky traps are nasty tothose leafs lol sometimes you can almost peel it off and I think maybe just the camera glare is what made the leaf look suspect to PM. Good stuff my friend! Good stuff!! Congrats on the victory!... Btw the squito bit tea gets pretty stinky but its helping huge... I am also using different bacteria in the drench too when the bt tea is used i just been adding a little bit and so far so good with about an ounce to a gallon i feel i am next in line to order nematoads though HA!
I always feel everyday with a good dry and cure the bud taste better day by day. You are experiencing that it sounds like which is a ultimately a good feeling. Thats called success right there, thats right! Way to go Digger welcome to the club!!

Many thanks, the club has some excellent members, great to be a part of.
It seems very strange with the new grow and them being lil babies!

It doesn’t help size wise looking when you’re new fan and filter is bigger than expected and I’ll have to position both outside the tent but there’s so much power next to the shitty one that came with the tent.
Plus the 6”ducting has noise cancelling insulation which actually makes it about 10”, a real struggle trying to get it through the sides of tent.

Hello CC,

Regarding the sea algae not only the food chain but isn’t it also the biggest provider of oxygen, or whatever, bigger than even all the rain forests?

Gnats are worse than ever today, I just ran more HP through, glad once that’s “processed” it’s not harmful to me, or the plant. I dug down one side about 3 inches and didn’t meet onewriggly thing! Just the gnats scurrying over the newly turned stuff. Just ordered some mossie bits, even if its too late for this I’m sure I’ll have need of them in the future.

As for the ACV I did dissolve the sugar in warm water, then added dish soap, then the ACV, but, thinking back, I didn’t really measure anything and it may have been 50/50 so I’m gonna do a new brew in a minute.

Mine is purely for personal use, and I’m not a real heavy user like I was in my younger days. If I can harvest enough to get me through the next grow I’d be ecstatic! I can’t really see that happening.
But if it helps with my pain, alcohol and methadone dependencies. it will be good.

Ive always drank a lot, it runs in the family and throughout English culture. I dabbled a bit with smack when about 16-20, but nothing serious. I knew what could happen as my older brother was an addict. But then in 2015 I fractured a couple of vertebrae, pain incredible, immflamation markers so off the chart they were throwing all manner of extremely strong opiates from every direction. That, plus I’d always loved the buzz anyway, soon grew to dependence. Once the majority of the pain had subsided, and healing had progressed I went to Methadone Maintenance, and I’m still bloody on it.
In my case I do not blame the doctors for giving me opiates, Iwas in so much pain I even thought of blowing my head off! But they do hand them out way too easily. My GP now will not even prescribe low grade stuff like codeine unless you’ve had at least 3 previous appointments with him.

But I digress, my girl is still producing new buds and pistils, does this still occur at around 8.5 weeks into flower? Looking at the trichomes I’d guess (and it truly is a guess) 60% clear, 39% cloudy and 1% amber. I’m not really sure about the amber, I thought I saw some over a week, maybe 2, ago but think it must have been a trick of the light.

So, anyway, after you also liking NLs I think I’ll definitely try that next time. I’ll be doing 2, maybe even 3, it seems a waste to use all that power for one when it takes the same amount as more.

Anyway dude, take care buddy!

To get rid of gnats use nature's own caterpillar killer powder you sprinkle a tablespoon amount around the base of the stem over the infected pot one tablespoon per 300 mm wide pot then water in it kills larvae and then put medium grain sand on top about two inches thick and the pot trays swap out for a deeper dish tray and fill with sand above the holes in the base to prevent adults returning and I also got rid of them by switching to a recirculating dwc system it broke the cycle but nature's own caterpillar killer powder works killing eggs on contact takes about two weeks to break the cycle but it's not that hard I also was bottom feeding so the top dried right out I started by drenching with low ppm nute mix or water for soil a full above the soil drench to remove excess wrigglies then dry right out like bone dry desert dry without wilting then sprinkle the caterpillar killer water through with ph'd nutes the powder will put the pH up back into the high 7 's so only leave in for an hour or two not all day and night for infestations apply once a week for two weeks and that should do it remove top soil two inches and replace with sand over the top of two inches thick gnat barrier doesn't work I watched them move the pieces but they can't penetrate the sand I just moved a plug on top as well and keep a bucket of sand like a golf coarse lol it helps and it's cheap buy aquarium sand it's clean washed filtered and bagged cheap easy
