1st Indoor Grow - 9 Strains - Eek!

Hey Granny :grinjoint:
BIG HUG to you too.
Wouldn't be the first time someone called me an SOB. He He
But you can call me Old SOB anytime you want.
Your amazing girl. Great beautiful plants, Keeping up with everything both on and off line, and I know you still make time for your family.
By the way, spoil hell out of those Grand Kids, that's the fun of it.:cheertwo:

((((Aloha OMM!!)))) I won't be callin ya any names, but do think your just one of those kindda folks that are easy going, can take a bit of s**t and luv to give a bunch of it too! Me TOO. All good here! :ganjamon:

You dont want to keep them all stuffed in the rings, the light may not penetrate very good. Wow they are growing tall ;)

Hey ((((McBudz honey!)))) I been watchin' this and I put a few thru the top ring (and lowered the top ring too), but left others to go out the sides. I'm waiting to see how tall they decide to get (think they have slowed) and then I can adjust accordingly. I have the tall plants spaced too, but they do have to share the light. Today I had to rearrange *again* cuz I transplanted the last of the vegged-ready plants. I hope to get an update in later on that.

See ya then! ;)

YEAH granny! Man your gunna have your hands full in a few weeks once you get your scissors in hand!

I am concerned about that. I have one recruitment to possibly help me if I am getting into a jam. I may be harvesting a plant a day - MY GOODNESS!!! Shit, I may not have time to smoke!!! LOL! Great to see ya again honey!!!

oh by the way ur babies are beautiful!!!!!

Hey again MI=grower!!! ;) and :thankyou:

Granny your plants are pretty! Nice selection! Maybe it is me that didn't know what luv was till grandchildren came? Never to late to learn.
Luv&:peace: Grampy

Hey Grampy!!! Great to see you again! Thank you so very much for the nice comments. And no, it is never too late too learn!

Next... an update! :ganjamon:

Okay, it was another busy day off. Since the White Widow and other plants from the first nine I put to flower are getting SOOO tall, I decided to go ahead and put the last of the plants to flower at a lesser height. The White Widow were 12" when I put them to flower and all I am sending to flower today are right around 9".

Here's the remainder of the plants that went to flower (all that remains in the veg room is clones)...

Let's see, the first strain is a group of 5 Super Nova Chronic. I am really looking forward to seein' what this strain does! Add these to the 2 put to flower on the 19th for a total of 7 wonderful girls from the SN Chronic group. :slide: They smell yummy...
Oct23-SNx5GoingToFlowerTransplantToday.jpg

Then there are the last 2 feminized Cheese ladies, making a total of 3 Cheese ladies in the flower room. They smell yummy too!
Oct23-C-Fx2GoingToFlowerTransplantToday.jpg

And the last feminized LD, making a total of 3 LD in the flower room... and all smell just as strong as the first. Luv it!
Oct23-LastLD-FGoingToFlowerTransplantToday.jpg

And here is the last AK-47. I strongly feel it is female, but until I see the lil hairs I hold out my opinion. This is the plant I stressed too tightly with LST and it responded by shooting out 4 fan leaves (and growth) from every node. This plant also smells real good...
Oct23-LastAK-47GoingToFlowerTransplantTodayPossibleFemale.jpg

and here is the stem where I stressed it...
Oct23-LastAK-47_OverBentStemCausedQuadBranching.jpg

and I don't know if you can see the four fans and growth at the nodes?
Oct23-LastAK-47_QuadBranching.jpg

And I put 3 of the last four Thai Tanic to flower. The fourth is a suspected male. One of these three I am pretty sure is a female. The other two I also think might be, but I just can't believe there are that many females. Here they are...
Oct23-TTx3GoingToFlowerTransplantTodayPossibleFemales.jpg

So now the flower room looks something like this (accept I have rearranged a bit to give better light to those that need it...

THE TALLER SIDE...
Oct23-TallerSideOfGroup.jpg

THE SHORTER SIDE...
Oct23-ShorterSideOfGroup.jpg

AND THE WHOLE BUNCH ...
Oct23-TotalGroupToFlowerInOct.jpg

But my veg room went from pretty dang full last week to not very full at all this week! I have a number of clones in there. I'm not sure what I'm doing with them all yet, but they are growing. I have pics of them all, but their report will have to wait!!!

Just so I know where I'm at, I'm going to add what I put to flower and when below. This way I have it written in one place when I forget down the road!!!

Put to flower Oct 11th.
3 White Widow
2 Medijuana
1 Thai Tanic
1 G13 Haze
1 LD
1 Blueberry
9 females

Put to flower Oct. 19th
Females (for sure)
2 Super Nova Chronic
2 AK-47
1 Cheese feminized
1 LD feminized
6 females

2 Cheese
1 LD
8 females
Plus... HIGHLY Suspected as Female
1 AK=47
1 Thai Tanic

2 Probable females
Plus...
2 Thai Tanic (Unknown Sex)

Total Female Tally
I am positive of 23 females and strongly suspect another 2. Total 25.

Total Male Tally
I had 7 males with the first I put to flower and have sexed 3 more out of the remaining plants. Total 10.

Still Unsexed
I have 4 that have not shown me yet.

The :adore:MJ Goddess has smiled upon me and I will be grateful for a very long time (at least until my MJ runs out!!!) :ganjamon:

(((((((((((BIG GRANNY HUGS EVERYONE!!!)))))))))))))

Yo Granny! Thought I'd drop in, drool for a bit looking at your set up, and let you know I submitted the photo's and instructions for the light canopy. Oops, forgot the link to my grow journal, but it should be easy to find. Have a great weekend!

wow fantastic grow g-ma have lurked this site for the last 2 weeks and found my self very impressed with your grow and many others. now that i am a member i will be sure to keep tabs. keep up the great work!

Hello Granny,

:nicethread:

Hey fluroman! :welcome: I sooooo agree about being a grandparent! Thank you so much for watchin' whats goin' on! I was just up there staring in awe (and making adjustments to my setup, and watering, and letting the newest clones out to air, and ... well, it all seems to be constant). In my mind, the show is just really getting ready to begin... I love lookin' at cola pics in here and the first of mine are finally beginning nicely. Will look forward to seein' ya if ya stop back again!

(((((OldSkoool))))) I finally found you! I LOVE the LST method you apply to keep your plants short for a small area! Let's see, was it Wanda? She is looking very yummy! Thanks for adding pics for the canopy - I think there are a ton of wannabe growers who are limited to a very small area. Your method allows a really cool inexpensive way to grow in a very small area! +reps !!!

granny your amazing!! ((((many a hugs))))

(((((Butcher honey!!!))))) Luv seein' ya!!! Have ya visited with yer grandma lately? How's she doin?

:welcome: Aussieblues!! Congrats on becoming a member!!! This is such a wonderful place. The support is outstanding. You have just found a new family. Thank you so much for your kind comments. Yes, there are tons of fantasic grows here. I learned so much lurking before becoming a member also. Viewing those wonderful colas in McBudz and Harry Red's journals really inspired me. Once I learned a bit and really thought out what I could do to maximize a short-term grow... well, here I am! If you ever start a journal, please let me know! I'll look forward to seein' ya when ya visit!

Very nice!

The forest in your home. :worship:

:welcome: Lost1! Thank you so much! When this started I knew I was planning a jungle... it is beginning to get there. I am still in awe and just stare... and inhale... it is so wonderful! I subscribed to yer journal so one of these days I'll be visiting!

Your plants are looking amazing granny. Way to go for a first grow. This journal is going into the hall of fame if we ever get one ;)

(((((McBudz))))) Honey, it wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for YOUR previous journaled grows. Such wonder there is when I review other's journals. My case is probably a rare one cuz I have a bit more space and a short amount of time. I don't know about HOF, but if this journal ends up worthy enough for other's to learn anything from - that would be an incredible honor.

But my goodness is it getting harder to catch everyone up on pics cuz there are so many plants!

Right now tho, I am going to go review images in your grow journals to see if I can get a visual on about how much they continue growing once they start budding.?.?.? WW4 is around 26" tall (not counting pot) and a number are 22" to 23". I thought they stretched for 2 to 3 weeks and then began budding... but maybe they continue stretching while budding? Anyways... I'm gonna go get a visual and see if I can figure out where they are heading next!

Also, I did adjust the top rings to be lower on those tall gals, as you suggested. I wasn't pulling all the upper buds put thru the rings, there are a number growing outside the rings that I may need to string up for support later. I have been trying to do this so the inner ring supports the tallest colas yet they are spread out enough that some light can get through. The lower portions of these plants are not going to grow anything significant - I may have to thin the underareas.

These tallest ladies are also spaced a bit apart so their edges can get light. They are *hopefully* going to yield very nicely - but I put the others to flower at a bit of a shorter height (9" to 10" instead of the 12" that these were) with the hopes of keeping a bit shorter plants. The LD and the G13 Haze were put to flower at around 10" and those gals are absolute beauty in the way they are filling out. I will update with comparisons some time next week.

Well, off I go to do more research - what a great place to do that!

no pun intended i swear haha peace and love!!!! check out my kush 13 days in its under purple kush from seed Go granny Go!!!

Granny....you go girl..:adore:

:welcome:rollersmoker! Thank you, honey! I'm goin'!!!

Hey has anyone ever not loved a gramma. :hugs: :peace:

Hey cocoJoe! :hugs:

From my experience stretching usually stops 21-25 days into 12/12.

OMG!!! The tallest White Widow is 30" and a number are 24" to 26". It seems like they have slowed a bit tho while they are increasing bud growth. Well, today is day 14 for the first group, so another week or so. Thanks McBudz!!! I sure do appreciate your quick response with all the answers!

hey granny nice BUSH
no pun intended i swear haha peace and love!!!! check out my kush 13 days in its under purple kush from seed Go granny Go!!!

Hey kushiekush! It is more like bushES!! And thanks, honey! Can ya add the link to your grow in your signature or in a message here? Otherwise, I'll look ya up later when I have time!!! I LOVE visiting grows and ALWAYS learn something! Take care hon!

Next... I return with pic updates on the flower room. See ya!

I have sexed everything except one Blueberry which simply refuses to show me any preflowers at all. I am still stunned at the results. I expected possibly 50% to 60% female, but think I got around 75% females. Out of 39 total plants, I have 28 females, 10 males, and one BB still unknown.

I really didn't expect this many females, so I am hoping the flower area won't be too crowded to do justice to all. The two 1000w lights overlap each other's area a bit and I am not using the total area YET. But as these fill out, it is going to fill up more area quick!

Egads, I am going to have a harder and harder time getting things done! It's already, move these plants to get to that plant... dang it, now move this plant to get to that plant... and this one to get to that one... and about 40 moves later I'm rearranging again so they each get the best light!

Today I moved them all out for each strain's "group" mugshot. Here is the whole group when I was done...
Oct25-FlowerGroup.jpg

Then we'll go to the boys. 1 AK-47, 1 Utopia Haze, and 1 Thai Tanic. They will be cut soon - I just like to make absolutely sure I sexed them right.
oct25-TheBoys.jpg

Then the Thai Tanic. There are a total of 4 Thai Tanic girls. This strain is mainly sativa and takes 9 to 12 weeks to flower. Since 3 out of 4 of the seedlings turned out girls, I don't think I'll be using any of the TT clones I took. I'll keep the best looking clone around for awhile tho.

This TT gal is in Day 14 of Flower. She has early bud growth and is about 24" tall at present. First a view from the side and then from the top...
Oct25-TT1FlowerDay14-Side.jpg
Oct25-TT1FlowerDay14-Top.jpg

Then the 3 Thai Tanic ladies that are in Day 2 of Flower. I am still stunned that 3 out of 4 are female.
Oct25-2ndTTx3FlowerDay2-Side.jpg

Then lets go from sativa to indica with the Blueberry. In the image below:

  • The tallest plant in the back is the Blueberry in Day 14 of flower. It is around 24" tall - unless you measure to the top of the top leaf. As you can see, this plant is growing very few leaves thru the plant. However, look at how HUGE the top leaves are and how they stand straight up!
  • The front two plants were put to flower 6 days ago without knowing their sex because they were 12" tall. After seeing how tall the first BB was getting with starting flower at 12", I couldn't hold out any longer on getting these two into flower. The smallest has now shown me she's a girl. The other still has not given me a glimpse of any pre-flowers whatsoever.
3 BB from the side...
oct25-BB_x1FlowerDay14_x2FlowerDay6_BB2UKsex.jpg

And then the BB from a top view - the tops definitely get light easily!
oct25-BB_x1FlowerDay14_x2FlowerDay6_BB2UKsex-TopView.jpg

While we are doing indicas, I'll move to the 2 Medijuna gals. They are both in Day 14 of flower. One was LST'd and about 11" tall when put to flower. The shorter one was set back early on, so when it came back I did not LST it and I think it was about 9" to 10" when put to flower. Now, the LSTd plant is around 24" tall.
Oct25-M1andM10FlowerDay14-Side.jpg

Once again, from looking at these plants, there are very few leaves when you can see in from the side. A lot of light gets thru these. I think the indicas would really do better if grown in a SOG type (short veg and crowded planting) and I am going to try this before I'm done.

A view down from the top of the Medijuana shows there are a number of bud sites and everyone of them gets great light!
Oct25-M1andM10FlowerDay14-Top.jpg

And now, the AK-47. Out of 4 plants, once again I got 3 ladies. And I was so pleased, cuz the quad growth plant showed her hair. She ought to have a lot of top growth before she is done! Two of the plants below are on Day 6 of flower (left and back) and the third is on Day 2 of flower.
Oct25-AK-47_x2FlowerDay6_x1FlowerDay2-Side.jpg

and the AK-47 with a top view...
Oct25-AK-47_x2FlowerDay6_x1FlowerDay2-Top.jpg

Next, I ended up with 7 out of 7 Super Nova Chronic girls. I am still stunned and just can't quite believe the girls. I keep checking over and over... still see they are girls.

Just cuz I find it interesting, I'm going to backtrack with some images. One thing you can see is that these poor gals had to fight to survive. And then the effects of LST on one specific SN Chronic gal in pics... First, SN10 began as the largest of the group of 7...
Sept2_All5SN.JPG

But the girls were so sick and lost a lot of leaves. SN10 looked pretty sad when I began LST on her...
Sept25-SN10-LST_FirstString.JPG

But she made a comeback and here she is today...
oct25-SN10FlowerDay6-Top.jpg

And here's the entire Super Nova Chronic group today, the back two in day 6 of flower, the front 5 in day 2 of flower...
oct25-SNGroupx7-Top.jpg

Next, let's move to the 3 Cheese girls. The back Cheese gal is in Day 6 of flower and has grown from 10" to 15" in that time. The front 2 gals are in Day 2 of Flower. From the front, and then from the top...
Oct25-C_x1FlowerDay6_x2FlowerDay2-Side.jpg

Oct25-C_x1FlowerDay6_x2FlowerDay2-Top.jpg

I love the way the LD and the G13 Haze are growing. The two in Day 14 of flower are so similar in growth, you'd think it was the same strain... but the smell is definitely different.

I don't know if the pictures do these plants justice. First, I'll start with the only G13 Haze gal that I ended up with. She is now about 18" tall and probably that wide too. You can see in the first image that she is loaded with top areas to fill...

Oct25-GH2FlowerDay14.jpg

This side image of just a portion of the G13 Haze is supposed to show the thick inner growth. I love the way these plants are built (the oldest LD looks just like this too)... They are going to fill in and be solid bud in their lower regions.
Oct25-GH2FlowerDay14-SideGrowth.jpg

Next, the LD (the stinkiest of the stinky)... I'm just going to put one image that includes a view of the top of all 3. The largest LD is in day 14 of flower and measures about 18" tall and just as the G13 Haze is, it is also probably that wide or wider. And again, it is a nice thick plant with numerous buds sprouting and is a real nice height thus far. The second largest is in day 6 of flower, and the smallest is in day 2 of flower...

3 LD plants from the front...
Oct25-LD_x1FlowerDay14_x1FlowerDay5_x1FlowerDay2-Side.jpg

and then the LD from the top...
Oct25-LD_x1FlowerDay14_x1FlowerDay5_x1FlowerDay2-Top.jpg

And that leads us to the 3 White Widow ladies. They are in Day 14 of flower and range from 24" to 30" tall at present. They are being given a good area of the light (spread out). It is very hard to get them all in the image, but here they are...
Oct25-WWx3FlowerDay14.jpg

...and then just a bit of the top of them in the last image of the day. The images doesn't quite do them justice, but oh well!
Oct25-WWx3FlowerDay14-TopBuds.jpg

Gees - I am STILL stunned with the tally of 28 females and 1 more still to show... It is shocking!!! The jungle has definitely begun.

With that... I have quarterlies (and the staff schedule and a ton of other things!!!) to do this next week and won't be able to get in here as much as I would like. Next week I hope to have better bud shots... and every week after that! Take care everyone!!!
