1st Grow - Soil - CFL - High DIY Level

Yay .. had to raise the lights another 2 cm .. I think I'll switch to 12/12 soon, or else I'll have issues with the room :o

Overview

:thanks:

My growbox is 60 x 120 x 120 .. the plants and pots as it is, already need 60cm of that vertical room .. 36 for the pots and plants, 16 to 20 for the lamps and 'fixture'. I have effectively 60cm of vertical room left for them to occupy.

On the other hand, I have them sitting on a 60cm x 60cm area atm ... so I'm trying to figure out if I can SCROG them .. that would give me about 55cm x 38cm per plant .. and would be good for my CFL's lightdistribution.

But even then, I need them harvested begin june .. I'll be on vacation in july, and I want to taste them before that :p

Snap i have to harvest mine by july 1st cos i'm going away ! lol ha ha :-)

If it gets real tight you can also top the plant again, but i have read only to top twice. i have just topped two of mine and when the two new tops grow i'm going to tie them down :-) a plant can double or even triple in size when put into flower,i have 2m height to play with and they are 40 days into veg and not even 18 inches high.I would rather small bushy plants than tall skinny ones that could possibly burn on the light when in flower :-)

Cheers VG :peace:

Day 28 for the girls. Tomorrow I hope to have the SCROG screen up .. and not totally sure what I'll do regarding pot-size. It's 7.5 liter, but they are quite deep in there. Here are todays pictures ;)

Didnt find any time to improvise a SCROG screen, and realized I'll have a light issue if I dont buy fittings for my lights first.. no SCROG yet .. they look great tho, and by now, a filter is becomming less optional ;)

Day 30

Construction of the SCROG screen comes along nicely .. I'll install it tomorrow if I can find fittings and lamps. I'm using what I have at hand ..

Re: 1st Grow - Soil - CFL's - SCROG - GLR - High DIY Level

Yay .. my SCROG screen is ready .. made with what was available. That happened to be PVC pipe for electrical wire, nails, a lighter, rope and a lot of patience :p

Tomorow I'll try to rearange the plants to their final position, and if I can get the lamps, switch to 12/12.

P.S. .. forelast picture, right front .. on the edges of the fanleaf .. anybody dare to guess the deficiency ? Better pic tomorrow .. my back has had it :D

:thanks: for watching, any tips, advice, comments, etc. are :welcome: :thumb:

What kind of steroids are you feeding them? Every time I check in they look so much bigger than the previous pictures.
Nothing .. it's soil with nutrients for 3 months (so I guess time release), tailored to seedlings (low nutes) and a tablespoon or 2 of universal fertilizer .. values in first post iirc. Other then that, water and light.

I love this plant .. I hope I get to clone one, and somehow make it survive my 3 week vacation ....

EDIT: As for the deficiency, I can't see anything wrong in the last pic, even when I enlarge it a little. So I might be blind.

I meant the pic before the last one .. sorry. On the left-front plant, the big fanleaf on the right, it shows discoloration from the edges in, with brown spots. The far left plant has this as well .. but my back was calling it a day, I'll post pictures tomorrow.

I was joking about the steroids :) I read the nutes and all, but damn man, they're just getting so big, which is why I asked about steroids :)

3 week survival would be tough. My best suggestion would be a 5 gallon bucket (Or bigger.. like a 10-20 gallon tote) Filled with water, and use a SMALL pond pump in there, hooked up to a timer, and just time it to run for a short time each day, or every few days if you have a more advanced digital timer. You could probably rig that whole setup for $20-$30 USD.

The nutrient delivery would be more difficult, but I think they have timers and such for hydro setups that can be timed to release nutes, but they might be a bit more costly.

EDIT: And the deficiency... Hmm from what I can tell in this picture, I would say Phosphorous.
