1st Grow: Blue Dream

So my mom recently moved. I went down to her old house yesterday. She said anything left there you can have! Found this hiding in the corner!
Yes please!

What a score! I had a friend give me his hydro table. I plugged up the hole on the top level and used both as flood trays to catch my runoff for drain to waste. It was a great score and I can always put it back together if I ever want to go full hydro. When things like this happen you know its a sign from the ganja gods that you are meant to be growing.

Haha! That’s exactly what I was thinking! They are smiling on me!

Veg day 17
watered the girls with water seasoned with a lil cal mag today. About 1/2 gal each. The new growth in the middle is really exploding up above the primary fans now. Temps stable around the clock between 66 and 74. RH fluctuating between 46 and 70. My goal is to keep it around 55. Here are a few pics from today!

I didn't even see the update, they look great! Your journal is becoming very fun for me to watch. I always like seeing people try quadlining. It's still kind of weird to me to see plants that look like mine and that people are trying out my training style. It's always a little nerve wracking because you want them to do so well and not have anything go wrong! Those nodes will all start to space out soon as they always get really clogged up for a couple days with the new booming growth like yours are doing right now. Once that separation happens you can start pinning them down. What is your method of choice for pinning?

I have these 10” spikes and this training wire. Think that will work?

Wassup MM... Hey first off those Biznitches are f in growin huh??? Wow, you are sure right they dont miss a beat... Good pics, close ups and all... Hella score on the dehumidifier, that should make things a little more controlled in your hood... Looking great, and I personally love the Party girl taking off her top first reference... Classic... Green days... and to all

Does the training wire have a coating around it like tomato wire does? Does it bend and hold in place when you mold it? It looks like it does and I think it should work just fine if that is the case. I really like tomato wire as the rubber coating is really nice and soft but this stuff looks pretty close. Just be gentle when you start training. Don't push or pull anything too fast. Steady and gentle is the key. There will be a time in a few weeks where you can pull on them and train them a lot harder. Starting out you are more using the wire to guide them outward 4 separate ways.

Haha. I think we’ve all known a party girl like that at some point in our lives! My dumb ass married one. Lol. Party girl gets the first water and the first attention and has remained just a step ahead so far. But today I’m admiring the symmetry of Smurfette and I believe she has caught up to Party Girl. I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me. Lol

Yes it has a rubber coating over the wire. I can bend it with my fingers but it is rigid enough that I will probably have to use some needle-nose pliers to shape it just right.

And I’m glad to know you enjoy checking in on us. That’s the beautiful thing about living in the time we are in...you can find someone with the results you are looking for and do what they do. That applies to just about anything in life. The Information Age! Gotta love it!
I’m a newb here but I’ve met some pretty cool people so far who have been willing to help. Most are more humble than they have to be! But that’s great for a newbie. Makes us comfortable enough to ask for guidance. Thanks for that! That goes to all you guys who stop by here or that I visit on your journals! I’ve learned a lot in a short amount of time.

Veg day 19
RH range 46-66
Temp range 64-73 F

There’s so much change everyday! Quite amazing really! I keep waiting for something to catch my eye, some kind of sign that something is wrong. Lol. But they just keep saying “keep doing what your doing!” Haha. Gotta be the plant and not me.
I’ve had the small fan on for about a week inside the tent but not blowing on the plants. With the explosion in growth I went ahead and raised the fan to blow across the top of the plants yesterday. I have another available whenever the need arises. Picked the pots up today. They seem to be drinking a little more quickly. Will probably feed them some nutes tomorrow if they feel light. Here’s a few pics from today!

Veg day 20
Fed the girls their nutrients today. Week 3 of foxfarm feeding schedule at half strength. They gobbled it up!
Question...the foxfarm feeding schedule only has 4 weeks of veg and week 4 has an additive that seems appropriate for right at flip. If I want to veg for longer should I stick with week 3 mix until I’m close to ready to flip?

Here’s some pics from today!

Looking gorgeous magoo. They are definitely telling ya to keep doing what ya doing. When the leaves are nice dark, waxy almost like pleather looking they are doing very well! Love that pleather look almost looks fake

Veg day 23
Lights are about to go out. Been pretty humid here the past few days. Gonna get the dehumidifier going today. Hoping to get the humidity down to around 50. I can’t keep it below 58 right now and it gets as high as 73. Plants are getting bigger and I really want to keep them in a good range. I’ve seen some bugs in the tent. Nothing parasitic, just some that are attracted to the light I suppose but nevertheless I am thinking of putting some neem oil on them. Has anyone used this for pests? Also gonna pull the girls outside after the lights come back on just to give the tent a good cleaning. OCD and all. Lol. Here’s some pics from today!

These look great and you can for sure start training them. Just remember to go slow and be gentle! As long as you don't do anything too suddenly you shouldn't have problems. Remember that you are more or less guiding them at this phase because you want them to really keep growing. Later on you really pin them down and the branches turn into more of a support but right now they need to keep growing.

If you have some bugs but not a whole lot then I would suggest getting some sheets of yellow fly paper (just like the old school ones) and put them near the surface of the soil. Some people hang them from the lights but that is too high in my opinion. The bugs are usually planting eggs on the surface of soil and that is where they hang out. I take a hard pot and turn it upside down and tape a sheet of fly paper to it. Got them off amazon. Do not by the new age ones that are like transparent yellow and are thing strips. Those things don't catch anything. I would try that before I'd put any neem oil or anything like that on my plants. I always see a few gnats floating around in my grows but the flypaper keeps them at bay and they never get to be more than a few either. I can live with that.
