1st Grow: Blue Dream

Used the 3 bucket method to wash the buds. One on the right has about 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1/2 cup of lemon juice in it. Dip some buds in there and give em a wiggle. Then in the middle and then in the last. Filtered water in all.

Nice dense looking buds magoo! Is the wash for cobbing? I've heard a few people talk about smoking cob or eating it but don't know about the cobbing process itself can't wait to learn!

Bud washing just to clean them up for whatever. I’ll probably cob an ounce and will document it here as well. I think there are several visitors here who haven’t seen that process yet. I have never done it so may be hitting up some more experienced members just to make sure I don’t mess anything up. And I’m glad you have learned some stuff on this thread. I’ve learned most of it as I’ve gone and wanted it to be a good thread for someone with questions to read through. I’ve asked a lot. Lol. Will continue to do that but hopefully I can lean on what I’ve learned this round and build off of that. If I had to say what I’ve done really well this grow is control the environment. Outside of a couple power outages the temps and RH have been great. Been able to keep humidity high furing early veg and slowly lower it throughout the life of the plants. I’ve probably messed up on the nutes a few times. Didn’t adjust ph a couple times. Split the main stem pretty good on both plants. Lol. Had a small bout with little critters. That’s another good reason to wash the buds. Just because bugs aren’t covering a plant don’t mean they haven’t been there and shit on it! Hahaha.

Nice to see you using docs bud washing techniques

I keep the first bucket little in warmer side for water not hot just warm . Then the other two I do cold. I’ll cut and remove all fans and then I dip and swirl aroud. The buds under the water for about 3-6 secs then shake off nest and into rinse pail. Then again into third . But I only run two buckets myself now a days .

Some just use straight hydrogen peroxide instead of lemon juice but I dunno docs is pretty decent .

I just look at it like these are my fruits you would wash you vegetables from garden right ?

Nice and happy to see you cleaning buddy

Very Nice! Looking forward to seeing your cobbing. Did you happen to weigh the haul?
Thanks Wookie! No I didn’t get an exact weight but I filled 19 paper bags with around 30 grams each. Some were a tad light and some were a couple grams over. So around 570g wet give or take.

What is your room humidity at and temps you are trying them in? Remember littl bit of a breeze like a fan opposite side of room oscillating
I just hung them there to drip dry. They are in bags in a mini fridge now to dry low and slow.
