1st Grow: Blue Dream

Ok. The Chinese POS is actually a beast. I disconnected the ducts and it was doing great. Connected the section running to the carbon filter and it wasn’t blowing anything. So I disconnected the carbon filter all together so now I’m moving air again but unfiltered. I suppose that won’t matter until they start smelling!? Am I right or wrong about that? Also, does anyone know why the filter would allow air to flow through it a week ago and now it won’t?

I do have pets. And the tent is in the laundry room and one of the flaps opens up right next to a vent. Maybe it’s dust from there. There was a scrubber on the carbon filter. I took it off and it was pretty clean. So I don’t know. Maybe I can try to blow it out with compressed air or something and see if that helps. Thanks bud!

Not saying that's it but could possibly be the answer if the draw from the fan is great

Well the exhaust won’t smell a ton until flowering.

Seems pretty strange, by scrubber do you mean a white cloth sheath around the filter? If it’s apearing to be mostly clean I don’t think dust/hair is the problem.

I’m rocking a 70$ from Amazon, has been running for 16 mths with animals in the house and it only has some mild discolouration. I’m sure you’ve probably already checked, but there is no immediate sort of blockage at the opening of the filter?

Yeah. Visually it looks fine. Yeah it had the white cloth around it. Took it off to check for increased air flow without it on and there was no change. I guess I have a little while to fool with it before I really need it. It’s a bigger filter. You would think it would get some kind of airflow through it. It kinda gradually lost airflow over a couple days. Could moisture in it effect it like that? Humidity has spiked a few times pretty high.

.... Green morning all.... When I was in an apartment growing, actually drying mostly, I would hook the exhaust vent of the area to the duct of my dryer... Worked remarkably well for smell too...

Mine is ducted up into the attic so there shouldn’t be an issue with smell even when that time rolls around. Hopefully! Lol

Damn that’s a shame. I wish I had more knowledge of carbon filters to help ya, sorry bro.

I can say my tents have recently hit low 70% RH for a few weeks before I found a solution, and no apparent issues with my filter.

Maybe you’ll have some luck trying to clean it with an air compressor, I’d hope it wouldn’t ruin the filter but it sounds like it can’t get much worse than it is.
 
No. Brand new man. I’ve done some research and found that some people have had trouble when the humidity is high. I put it outside today to just let it be out there and dry out if that is the problem. When I start dropping the humidity some I plan on trying it again and if it doesn’t work then I’ll just have to order another one I reckon!
 
They are looking great! I Blue Dream is my favorite strain overall, still have some left from a couple yrs ago and the smell is like nothing else. The names are super cute too, subbed!
