180W Super Lemon Haze Grow - Lots of Pics!

Thanks for your thoughts Mike. Sounds like a Spectra 300 in a 2x2 tent could be a killer setup. The idea of pulling 12 ounces of high quality meds out of my closet every 4 months has really got me thinking...

My quest for the ultimate closet grow continues... Just wondering if there's anyone else out there with thoughts about how a Spectra 300 would do in a 2x2 tent.

Usul we are on the same path, i too was thinking of going the spectra 300 in my closet which is 3x2, only thing is i dont know if i would be better going 1 plant or two in there, mike i would appreciate your opinion on this as you have know how good the footprint is on the light.

Loving this grow mike cant wait to see more pics. Any idea how far away you are from harvest?

I have been following these LED jornals for awhile now...Seems these ones are good for flowering no worries there, Only thing it seems is that they don`t have the foot print as Hid`s so in saying that they have their advantages, BUT one can grow more plants under the same watage as leds but with HIDs. having a larger foot print more plants under the HIDs and less under the LEDs..Does this make sense??

More plants does not automatically mean higher yield.

Larger footprint does not automatically mean more plants.

I imagine that a 360 in a 2x2 ScrOG would produce like CRAZY. Mike, you're the man. You and Irish have dispelled so many myths and have shut so many people up. I LOVE it! I'm a future customer, just so you know. What you have done here is worth hundreds-of-thousands in advertising...but you probably already knew that. LOL!

Thank you!..

Ill have pictures up tomorrow I promise.. just to busy right now to post any..

Regarding the footprint some of you have talked about, I have been comparing a lot of HID grows with irishes grow and and to be honest irish did his grow with a 600w LED in a 4x4 space, about 99% of all 600w HID grows ive seen have been in a space that size but most even a little smaller like 3x3. So yes the led has a smaller foot print but not by very much and as you can see the the 600 LED didnt do a bad job of covering a 4x4.

And regarding the heat issue.. well, I am sorry but I disagree with anyone who says that HOD and LED put out the same heat watt for watt as a mater of fact, to me, thats just insane to say something like that. I have seen the side by side with my own eyes and the HID is much much hotter than the led. I literally can put my hand on the led's (with the glass off) and they are cool to the touch even after a full cycle of being on. As a matter of fact there is no part of the panel that gets hot to the point you cant touch it. So seriously this is one 'myth' that needs to hit the road.

Thanks Mike, On the foot Print ? Thats true as well TorturedSoul .

So Mike are you saying that 2 of your 600 Watt units wd. do a 4 by 8 table? Or say 4 of your 180 units. either one of them better than the other, For that 4 by 8 table area?

Thank you!..

i agree about the heat.

a 600w HID is made for a 3x3' area and a 1000w is made for a 4x4" if any grower tells you different then they are not using their HID to full potential IMO. if over to do bigger foot print then that.

Thanks Irish...

So 2 -1K Hids units for a 4 by 8 Table , wonder what wd. be the best in Leds 3-600, 2-600 and 300 in Da middle, or say 4 -300, or again 6 -180`S

Now I`m thinking or just right out Blastered LoL.

But Am interested in this ...Also 15 plants or so.

this is right look at any good grower using 2-1000w his always over a 4x8 table with no lights movers. i would go all 300's if it were me

Taken from RoseMan`s post

A 250 watt fixture will supply enough light to cover a 2.5 foot by 2.5 foot grow area. (6 plants or less)
A 400 watt fixture will supply enough light to cover a 4 foot by 4 foot grow area. (12 plants or less)
A 600 watt fixture will supply enough light to cover a 5 foot by 5 foot grow area. (18 plants or less)
A 1000 watt fixture will supply enough light to cover a 6.5 foot by 6.5 foot grow area. (30 plants or less)

Sure is confusing with who one talks to about lighting?

IF the above is even close to be true, Then I can`t see LEDs even coming close to the Hids???

I`m not shooting down Leds, or Hids just so much Confusing data out here.

Seems by the above even 2 400 units wd. cover the 4 by 8 table then...:passitleft::passitleft::passitleft::nomo::nomo:

I think Roseman's coverage list is a bit optimistic. I'm running a 250W HPS in a 2x2 tent with 2 plants and it doesn't provide enough coverage for my taste - the sweet spot is only about 1x1. A better reflector might improve things a little but there's no way it'd ever be good for 2.5x2.5 at the intensity we'd hope for. Just my two cents.

Interesting to note how the lighting conversation seems to be swinging from LED-bashing to HID-bashing. The times, they are a changin' ;)

Here is how most HID growers that I've seen calculate how much light to use..

50w a sq ft is what's referred to by some HID growers as the sweet spot for HID lighting.....

I have also seen a lot of HID growers use the w/sq ft Irish was talking about witch is in the 60+ watts a sq ft range. But most HID growers will say anything over 55w sq ft is overkill...

So here are my calculations for the HID 50w sq ft sweet spot..

250w = 28x28" = 5 sq ft.... 250w divided by 5 = 50w sq ft

400w = 34x34" = aprox 8 sq ft.... 400w divided by 8 = 50w sq ft

600w = 3.5x3.5' = aprox 12 sq ft... 600w divided by 12 = 50w sq ft

1000w = 4x5' = 20 sq ft... 1000w divided by 20 = 50w sq ft
