126W Penetrator LED Full Bloom

cammie, why do you need to keep them 6" away, light blending?

It not only helps the light blend, but it also prevents bleaching. I haven't noticed it so much in veg, but within the first 3-4 weeks of bloom if you have light closer than 6", the intensity bleaches the uppermost part of your buds (they literally turn solid white). When the plants get into the final stages of bloom (final 3 weeks), you can literally have the light touching the plants without this happening.

I have seen this bleaching with having LED's within 2" or less of the tops. I was curious as to what this was. So late flowering it is ok, but otherwise, right around 6" is ideal, aside from stretching (9-12" Height)?

Aside from color issues, what other type of harm does bleaching have on the plant? I haven't noticed any further harm, but there are still a few weeks left for flowering to finish.

Thanks for the info!

In my garden, I've noticed that the bleaching actually stunts the uppermost part of your bud. It more or less stops the plant from growing there, almost like it died (although it still retains water). The rest of the plant continues to grow around it, but it's not a desired effect. Depending on how much of the bud was bleached, you can get it to come out of it and start growing again, but once it's all white, it likely won't grow anymore.

So from veg until the last 3-4 weeks of bloom, keep the lights 6" - 12" from your plants (9-12" will help initiate stretching), and during the final stage of bloom you can move the light closer than 6" if you desire.

If I did a good close up, you'd realize that she has good Crystal count. SC is definitely not the strongest of my plants. but she is most certainly the heaviest ;) I think her THC is around 15-18%.

She was finishing out her 8th week in flower? I think that's right, but I might be a few days or a week off.

Always hard to tell from pics but it does look like it could have used a week or two more to ripen up but shit it looks massive.:grinjoint:

You are correct. She was cut about a week prematurely. She endured stress at multiple stages of growth, and I noticed a few male flowers beginning to form on her last night, so I yanked her. It made more sense to me to chop her rather than spray Reverse and wait a week. Plus, I have more plants waiting to fill up the space, so it wasn't a huge deal to me.

I also have nothing against SFHaze. I've followed his grow journal using the Haight light, but he doesn't make a habit of placing objects next to the buds so we can see how big they are. I think he just got caught up in an unfortunate situation like a lot of people, where they didn't get what they were hoping and try to make the plants look as big as they can because they spent so much money on a light.

The strain he is growing seems very nice, with excellent crystal content, but the buds are tiny in comparison to those I've shown on this log and others. Strain makes a difference on the overall yield, but I can't account that large of a difference to strain. Anyhow I agree with your assessment that he is getting what the light can give and what most LED's put out.

As far as the grow comparison goes, Setting Sun will begin one soon. His 126W light was just shipped yesterday, meaning it should arrive early this upcoming week. I believe Haight shipped their PPF-800 (186W) light to them already, but not sure if he's received it yet. The test will be ours against theirs, with the same number of plants under each light. I gave them a 33% power advantage for this comparison because I prefer to be the underdog.

Don't be afraid to put these lights close to your babies ;) Just don't go closer than 6"

With my other 120 watter led unit i grew the plants to tall, however the few buds that were right under the light "like .5 inches" were really dank, some did burn a little.

I may have to push this light to the limit if they grow to tall. Keeping it like 1 inch away in some places! bet them buds will be suuuuper dank though.

p.s. so my package is comming ups? I ask cause I got a tracking number but its not workin yet. I think it will kick in once the package is in usa.. But I thought scoobs was comming via DHL. Wonder why the diffrent carriers?

Mine came UPS. The tracking worked when it hit Hawaii and it gave me a arrival date when it hit the cont 48.

If you received a UPS number, then it is UPS. Keep in mind, that it is a reference number until it arrives within the continental US and receives a tracking number. To gain up to date information on the whereabouts of your package, go to track by reference on the UPS website. Honestly I have no clue why they ship different carriers at times, but we primarily ship UPS.

I have received Haight's light.

I haven't checked my email in a couple days in case you notified me when you shipped your light, but I will notify you when I receive it.

thanks,

Setting Sun

Out of curiosity, do you know when approximately, you will begin the grow comparison? :grinjoint:

Ahh ok, I did get the UPS tracking to work using the refrence number. Still no delivery date..

It should be pretty close by next friday maybe even here... Note delivery date was given yet. but if goes to haiwai first it's gotta go across the county diagonaly to get to me...

Setting Sun this is going to be a sick comparison I can wait. Is there a member here to rep Haight's lights?

When the official thread is started, I believe a representative from Haight will appear to agree to the rules and the comparison grow along side me. At least that's what I've been lead to believe, but Soniq can correct me if I am wrong.

Hi Cammie (am I spelling that right?) I am in the process of building my new CGE flower room. I will be needing 1000w + of LED's I beleive. (either yours or haights still researching this) I notice that in your main room you have a pretty nice setup and I wanted to find out what your using to control everything. Have you ever gotten to use the Harvest Master or the IntelliClimate, and if so what are your thoughts on them.

I just ordered the Intense I120 grow chamber which is 4' deep x 8' wide x 7' tall. If I were to use your lights to cover the whole chamber for flowering what watt lights would you use, how many would you recommend, and what angle would I get the best results with?

Lots of questions, but you seem like a person who knows what shes talking about and is up on technology.
