I let the temp tell me how high above the canopy.. I keep my 400 from 6-12 inches away... Get a thermo and put it at the same level as your canopy. Then you can dial the light height, in tune with the temps you want.. (try to stay under 80). You gotta try and remember that inside of two feet from the light source is optimal for lumens...

i keep getting diff opinions on the spacing of my 400w MH. some say 18-22" from the top of my plants while others say 10-12". currently mine is 16". what do you think?

hey i keep gettin diff opinions on my 400w MH and the spacing. originally i was told keep it between 18-22" from the top of my plants. recently ppl have been tellin me 10 and 12"...currently its at 16" from the top of my tallest plant. what do you think?
