Get used to it. It's probably not going to get any better.
You're right. It's pretty much a good thing here where I am, take away the drought part. Probably your place too? Having a short warm season.
Takes skill bro get few seeds and not 5 million
Thanks Dust! Truth be told I was going for a couple dozen. But I'll take that they stayed on one bud and not the whole plants.
Congrats on the yummy harvest and on the seeds!
Thanks Candy! I We're starting to taste them! So far they are a pre cure treat!

I'm telling ya it hard to do that not have 5 million everywhere.

I water every day. Raised beds (garden veggies) dry out quick in this heat. My cannabis ladies are in ground and I water them everyday also. Very organic soil with good drainage. Happy Smokin'

I know right? My Trainwreck needs a gallon a day to keep from drooping and the Purple Urkle gets by on just a little less. "Grow in soil" they said, "you won't have to water as often as ProMix" they said. Har!
Not much different huh? I don't know about LA but here it's been hot as the hinges on the gates of hell here! Can't remember a spell like it. That can't be helping!

I'm starting to get my second favorite grown thing. Ripe Tomatoes! Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm!

Highya SO,

Cooler days! I love it! No need to water today! Congratulations on ripe tomatoes! Mine are big, and starting to lighten up (from green to pale green) so they're not far off! My favorite garden product second to cannabis! We fill the freezer with them, lol! Hope you're well. Happy Smokin'

Never heard about freezing them. Do you do anything special to prepare them or just stick them in whole?

I imagine you must at least slice or chop them up.?

One more mid 90's day for us. I'm starting to like it but Ms O can't have it so much. Yup, the first tommys are a delight after waiting so long for them! First comes a tomato sandwich, then a tomato and cuke sandwich sliced thin with mayo!
We're coming to Booth Bay monday for a couple of days. Never been there. That someplace you know about?

With the ProMix I'd be 1.5 gallons every other day in 7g pots but the Trainwreck in particular won't last 24 hours without water. I'm sure some of it is the heat, which has been non-stop for us lately. We're not that far from the ocean but it was 82º already by 10am. I spent Sunday indoors since I can't deal with upper 80s heat any more.

Nice! I battled to grow tomatoes. I couldn't get the watering right. Do you grow cucumbers too, Otter?

Azi, I am not sure about others, but I put tomatoes straight in a bag in the freezer and when I need them for cooking I take out the quantity I need and run them under hot water until the skin splits or is loose on the frozen fruit and thus easy to remove. It's no mess, no fuss and the flavor is great. I plonk them frozen into the pan of prepared onions and let them simmer into mush.

Enjoy your break at the beach, Otter :)

Soil can go either way I think. Mine from The Rev calls for half vermiculite, half perlite for that part when you mix it. The vermiculite holds some water. But this year's heat is something else! Everything in my yard that isn't a tree is dead looking that doesn't get water by me. Even the poison ivy is shriveled and dry that isn't in the shade.

Highya SO, Carmen Ray, guys,

Boothbay is about an hour down the road. I'll send a pm.

Carmen Ray - I like that idea about freezing whole. We usually blanch them to remove skings and green spots, then put in gallon freezer bags. That's pretty easy, too. Might rethink this.

Happy Smokin'

CANDIDA IN THE WILD UPDATE

Good day all! These two are living the wild life! I'm seeing tons of pinprick suck marks on their leaves. I may have seen some under leaf egg or bug action Thought it was mites so I've been spraying with @Sierra Natural Science 217c. Maybe I found one web and no more so I'll give them a few more hits every 3 days and hope for the best. That sprayer with the 2 foot tube on the plastic bag of liquid is the coolest thing! I can really get in and under with it! Seems that way anyhow! Here they are.

And their pistol building.

Have a great day!

They are loving life! Good job staying on top of the nibblers. 🐜
Thanks! They need another trim and some netting soon. One is wider than tall and going to be full! Hehe, that's with my weed goggles on anyhoo. Starting the Jadam microbe trials in a few days hoping for less molds and all around health.

Not these days Carmen. They're so good from the garden too! Just 2 tomatoes and 2 cannabis and some oregano and thyme this year. You?
Me neither Otter, as I don't have the space anymore to cultivate much that isn't ornamental or herbs. I am growing 3 types of mint, oregano, thyme, rosemary and chives. I will plant some spinach in my spent pots too :)
Your Candidas are filling out beautifully and I am looking forward to seeing how well the Jadam microbes help you with mold resistance and and health.

A gardener after my own heart. Glad to see we arent alone!

Do you grow any specific types, or keep genetics? Where do you source your seeds mate?

Im waiting for the day the greenhouse goes up to push my seasons ends out, and keep the (wider) family in home grown tomatoes for months.

No matter where you buy them the ones from the garden are always better, picked just at the right time.

I liked you before, but I like you better after hearing this Stone.

Dogging the Candida pics too, old school outdoors plants give me smiles.
