This is interesting to me. What do you mean by taking advantage of the PAR at the far edges... is PAR higher on the edges?
Hi Carmen, as light gets to the corners and edges of the tent it gets lower by quite a lot. In these areas the light raise will actually raise the amount of light if the light is close to the canopy. It's counter intuitive but science works in weird and wonderful ways. My PAR id I'd say average 800 to 900 with peaks of 1200 and valleys, (corners, edges) 400 now.

Thanks, that actually makes sense visually. What units are you using to measure, is it ppfd?

PAR stands for Photosynthetic Active Radiation. It's one of the ways we measure light, ppfd is another. I went with PAR because LED's are measured in PAR. Folks use both measuring scales. Just have to pick one I'm thinking.

Sweet pair of bushes Otter! They look happy and green in the sun. :)
Thanks Shed! I'm about to trim some lower madness away. Bushes is right! Maybe some inners too. They're small still, I don't know if they're going to be 6 or 8 footers this year with the cool temps we've been having. They have a chance to catch up now and be what they can. We finally got heat to kick in this week.

CANDIDA CUTTINGS GONE WRONG, FARMER AT FAULT UPDATE

Happy Sunday everyone! I pulled the plug on the Candida cutting project. It was going to be an exercise in taking and making clones and then on to an STS sex reversal. That would have been fun had I set the timer properly. I did not. It was set to take a plant from lights to the great out of doors without going into flower mode, so about 15 hours of light. These ladies went into flower almost immediately and I didn't catch it in time. Party over. Note to self: 15 hours is too little for Candida.

All isn't lost. I found the new soil adds are proper and I won't have to ride doctor waiting for a mag def to happen. It's been a while and I'm super happy for that. These were a nice healthy green.

Highya SO,

Looking good on outdoor candidas! How old were they before putting outdoors? I put mine out midMay as 6 week seedlings. Now, they're about 5 ft. tall. I even topped them a week+ ago. This heat is bringing out the vegetation! Side branches are still trying to catch up to the top! Everything is well. I hope all is well with you!! Happy Smokin'

Hi Bode, they were 49 days as my memory has. I'll have a look when I go down to water in a while. My notes are down there.

Ok @Bode I found my memory solid as liquid as usual. Here's the dates.Looks like I hardened them at day 51 and they went in at 58. They look small to me yet perfectly healthy. I'm ok with that. Pruning from the ground:thumb:

Onto the temps and RH in the tent. Running the ac and dehummer is the way here. There's a big swing so we'll see some colors if possible
Happy Sunday. I'll be focusing on peace, love, and understanding today. Not necessarily in that order. So it's just another day here at the Otterfarm. :peace::green_heart::hmmmm: . :yahoo:

WEDNESDAY BUD BUILDING UPDATE 68 + 33

Hi all, this grow in getting heated up! Of the two Zkittlez, ripening time between 49 and 56 days, I think I have one of each ripening timers. One plant has begun to be past full bloom and is getting dried brown pistols while the other is not. They have two completely different grow structures so I'm expecting one fast and one slower, 49 - 33 = 16:p so around two weeks maybe for the first volunteer! WooHoo!

I'm still in awe over the bud on Skywalker Kush! They're beginning to fill in. Here's some pics of these awesome @CoffeeShopSeeds ladies.

The best is yet to come!

Wow! Those Skywalker buds are crazy! The Zkittlez are no joke either. Lovely garden SO. Bring on the fattening!!!

Your main colas are so far above the canopy....looks great! Is that genetics or the scrog or something else that accomplished that look?
Hi Tim, genetics has a big sway in how cannabis looks growing. I'd say that's #1 That's not everything though. Then it goes to building roots and working from a solo to 3 gal to 10. Then the topping and lst for canopy control, then getting the short ones up on risers to meet the tall ones to share the light equally as possible. And getting all the wrong buds cut off and leaves saved.

It's not a scrog. This net's just there to keep the colas from tipping over out of the light. A scrog spreads out the plant in veg for an even canopy. I've already done that.
Wow had to catch up. U been busy
Hey Dust, I'm slow but steady usually :yahoo: . NIce to see you! I think I'm looking at a harvest in a few weeks!
