Yeatster's Grow Box Journal - Jack Herer Auto - LED - 2016

I'm waiting on 5 or 6 myself, one is still a seed waiting to pop.

Nice job on the wet towels, those really help. I've had to use that little trick myself a time or two.

I've heard of people using those cheap vaporizers you can get at walllymart or drug stores, but I don't think you need that much of it. The towels always work just fine for me.
Too much humidity = mold and bud rot.

I have subbed and begun reading your journal. I like to let it be known I'm there after I get a feel for the room. Until then, I'm the guy crouching in the shadow with cream puffs stuck to his beard.

My thoughts with the towel was backed up by a couple other informative members. Thanks to them.

And, thanks to YOU Canna!

Oh, take your time on the journal....it's long! LOL Thanks for subbing up. :)

I'll bet your little one starts yawning and stretching up today.

Here's my own experience with CFL's

For seedlings and vegging growth you want the CFL's with the bluish light: 5,000k to 6500k range spectrum that promotes plant growth.
The warmer light CFL's (yellow to reddish spectrum) 2700 to 3000K are better for flowering.

We'll see what others say.

If you like, I also know of people that reverse the ratio about a week after they see pre flowers. I went to LED before I got to flower, so never made the switch to 2-2700 for every 6500K.

There are some who like to mix the spectrums. I built a housing for 8 CFL bulbs in my first grow and used a mixed spectrum, predominantly 6500K, and it worked quite well.

And Yeatster, you can buy the cheap thermal mylar blankets at wally world and use them to line the walls of your grow box. This will reflect light back onto the plants. I used these on the walls of my first grow, and I think they really helped.
I have a roll of thick mylar now, but it's expensive. Thermal emergency blankets are dirt cheap. Be careful with them though, they can tear easily. ;-)

I do have an LED I plan on using later on. Not sure when yet...

As far as the reflective issue goes, I read somewhere that white painted walls were as reflective as mylar. I had the paint laying around so that was a no brainer.
If you still think I should get better reflection, I will soon.
Thanks again for your quick response and sound advice.

White painted walls are good too. :) Use up what you have!

I have also read the white paint is very effective because it bounces light or reflects it. Also, in other's journals, I read people use CFL is veg and add the LED's in flower. So, they have a CFL/LED combo

Wanted to get something before work, this kewl?
