Wonder Woman - Short Rider First Grow

Re: Wonder Woman, Short Rider BPN First Grow

Uniseals are from bulkreefsupply, they run from 1/2" up to 2".
Air Pump is an active aqua 25liter 8 outlet
Water pump, mag drive 7, I had from reefing

Re: Wonder Woman, Short Rider BPN First Grow

The seals seem to work pretty good but I did find one maybe 2 of them with a slight leak. Wondering if a bur from the hole saw cut is causing it.
Was going to mess with it tonight but sometimes my dog gets more bored then a kid,,,,,,,so I'm stuck entertaining him. Its pretty sad what I go through for him. lol

Re: Wonder Woman, Short Rider BPN First Grow

So yesterday I messed around and built a fan controller using a $12 fan dimmer that I had controlling an outlet. I ended up putting roughly $27 into it,,,,,,,it did not work very well at all. Fan dimmer had 3 preset speeds. It would work on high, barely on medium and not at all on low. So $27 dollars down the drain. On the other hand right after making it and failing I went to the Hydro store right up the street. They had a $27 controller called the Speed Bully,,,,its variable speed,,,,,,,and works like a champ. Here is a link to a youtube video Speed Bully w/ Gro1 Fan - Speed Adjuster Fan Speed Control Controller - Fan Dimmer Riostat - YouTube

I tried my dimmer on a couple of different fan motors I had at my shop, capacitor run and non. Both dont use brushes. never tried it on my panasonic inline at home.
By rights it should work on certain fans being its made for ceiling fans which are split capacitor 3 speed units,,,at least most are. if I get around to it today I'll take it to the hydro store and see if it works on their inline fans.

Mmmm those are some beautifull looking buds you have, look nice and dense. Im definatly taking clones as I hope to get a perpetual thing going with 3 strains for now.So what type of light were those girls were under?

they are incredibly dense. I had 2 phenos, an indicia dom and sativa dom, both weighed nicely, but the sativa dom yielded more, took 2 weeks longer (10wks) to finish, and smelled more citrus. The indy dom smelled more skunk. Those were vegged under a 110w T5 till about 16" tall then flowered under a 600w HPS. They finished around 3.5ft for the sat and 3" for the indy. I killed off the indy pheno and kept the sativa one because it was so much better all round.. bag appeal is insane with this strain when the calyxes get super swolen.

definitely keep your humidity in check late in flower.. I get bud rot in the summer months when my humidity is a bit high, it's mainly because she gets so super dense it's insane. You will literally have 2L bottle thick buds if the pot size allows the roots to get big enough. I have flowered them in 1,2,3 gal pots, and 3 is the best for them by far for yield.

stretch is about average for a hybrid, 2x the flip height.

Re: Wonder Woman, Short Rider BPN First Grow

Should I be adding root stimulate?

Plan was to just add PH 6.5 RO water till their like 25-30 days old. I have them in Ocean Forest already which I believe could be to early.

Just looked at them and three out of the five seem to be thriving now.
I was down there finishing up the Undercurrent DWC. All done just need to get a float for the reservoir and wrap the buckets and lids with something light proof. Maybe that reflective bubble wrap insulation, cause I already have a roll. Then I need my moms to get big enough to clip clones off of.

Hey man the girls are looking great keep up the good work. I only have exp using canna rhizotonic (seaweed based root stimulator) on large clones and vegging plants and let me tell you it works brilliantly for getting the roots to grow quick, but I cant seem to find much info on using it on seedlings.

Thats great to hear man, thanks for the heads up on the humidity and the great info, lets hope I get than sativa dom as all ive planted is one bean. I have a dehumidifier on standby for the summer season as we got quite a bit of heat over here last year. I hav mine under a 200w cfl at the moment then gonna break out the 400w hps for flowering at about 18".hope me and puffy get as good results as your wonder woman.

Re: Wonder Woman, Short Rider BPN First Grow

The hydro store gave me a sample pack of some root stimulant made by humboldt.

Can you tell at the really ripe age of 18 days old whether your plants are indica or sativa?

Re: Wonder Woman, Short Rider BPN First Grow

Puff, things are lookin good my friend! Thanks for the tip on the controller

If you decide to buy a speed controller, buy local in case it doesnt work for you. I'm not sure of the technical aspects of it but it might not work with certain fans. Some people havent had luck with the speed bully.

Thanks for the compliments buddy

Re: Wonder Woman, Short Rider BPN First Grow

So I found out tonight after running the DWC overnight with the lights on that my res. stabilizes at 75f. Which doesnt make me happy because I thought it would run much cooler being on a 55f (assuming 55f) concrete slab. So I'm going to install a couple of axial fans I have laying around on the lid of the res to see if it makes even the slightest difference. If not, looks like I will be in search of a chiller. If anyone knows of places to get good deals on them, please forward.

Re: Wonder Woman, Short Rider BPN First Grow

Nice setup brodda. :thumb: Had the same issue with the dimmer and my fans. After looking a little closer I found I had a rotery dimmer, not a rotary motor control. When i changed to the motor control I had complete control of my fans. They were about 8 bucks a piece. Only 600 watts though, but still enough for my fans. :high-five:

Thanks Dumpy.

I learned long ago that some times DIY stuff ends up costing you more then just buying a already made product. I'm a hard learner though, I like DIY.

Can you point me to a link or the name of the control you used, if I change my switch and get my diy to work I can use it on the exhaust fan venting the room that houses the 2 tents. I'll be filtering this room too. I'll be filtering smell twice before it goes outside or into any living spaces.

Re: Wonder Woman, Short Rider BPN First Grow

I used a speed control made by Canarm. If you type "canarm speed control" into google, it will be the first to pop up. I just bought the 5 amp one at the top of the page and it works great. I use one for slowing the fan on the light tube. I use another one to keep my exhaust fan always just barely turning. It keeps a slight negative pressure in the tent to keep smells from entering the home. My controler will shunt the speed control if the environment needs to be exhausted. Also the motor speed control has a setting so you can fine tune the minimumum desired motor speed.

Re: Wonder Woman, Short Rider BPN First Grow

So last night and today I have had the light on in the flower tent with a fan blowing on the reservoir and I was able to drop the temp from 74f to 64.3. So I dont need to buy a chiller which was going to run me about $300, this makes me happy. So for the last hour I have been gathering up old reefing equipment and came up with a controller, 2-24v fans and a power supply. I wired up the controller with a solid state relay and have it controlling 2 separate outlets. This way if need be I can also add a heater but I dont see it being necessary right now. I drilled 3-4 inch holes on top of res lid. I'll mount 2 fans and leave the other hole for the air to escape. I will also build some sort of hood to go over the 3 holes to keep light from the room from entering through the fans and vent.
Its all coming together I figure by the time I get everything dialed in perfectly my mothers will be ready to clone or the clones will be ready to be put in.

Re: Wonder Woman, Short Rider BPN First Grow

sick set up and sick nugs dude!!!! did you build that hydro set up or buy it?

The nugs were from a different persons journal.

The hydro I built, just need to add a float switch to the res and it will be all done. Probably wont have anything in it for another 2 weeks. Still waiting for my ladies to get big enough to clone.

The hydro setup was very easy to make, have the right parts and drill some holes.
