Winter Hash

I'm reading that now.
This is the bag I received. Hopefully correct, if not I will try again.

I think that is the correct one & the seller is calling it 100 micron instead of 100 mesh
It should cost about $10 100 mesh =149 micron & 100 micron = 138 mesh
My chart got messed up when I copy pasted it (sent in report)
Both will produce hash but 160 micron looks like the best for average size of trichome

I may order a 160 micron down the road and see what differences there are. Now that I look at the mesh with a jewelers loop, it seems more possible. I can see the size of the holes.
Thanks Joe!

Hey Joe,
(every time I type that the song gets in my head and stays there for hours. LOL)

How do you clean your bags? Cold water immediately?
No need to wash. I just leave it in the plastic garbage bag till next year
It's only one bag

91% ISO to clean bags..

I just bought the Aether Green Automatic wash station & I'm reading up on if I should freeze my fresh bud or cure before washing? I think I'll try a qp both ways!
My way is so much easier & I cure my bud before shaking

Now mind you...this is NOT complaining one bit, but I've been watching for below zero temps here since early January. It isn't happening. LOL
We'll see what next month brings, it's snowing today but still above 21 F.

You need to move here! it's -24c(-11f) windchill -33c ( -27f) for a few days & predicted to jump to +9c tomorrow

No "F" in' way dude! It's bad enough for me here. As my age increases, my ability to tolerate this crap decreases ten fold.

I'm going to assume that putting the bud in the freezer, which is at zero degrees set temp., is not cold enough for this? I could set that freezer for a much lower temp, but I fear what the electricity cost would be. I am in the outrageous cost zone already, because they've upped the cost per kwh to make up for all of the damages they are still repairing from the January storms/ blizzard.

You may have to invest in some dry ice. A few lbs in a cooler, leave your weed in the bag on top of ice for a hr. Build some type of insulating around it like bubble wrap foil or Styrofoam board
& shake inside
Or like this worked

Ok very nice,so I def wasted $ on my bubble bags set up lol, ik they had a cheaper way to do it lol so the dry ice method sounds horrible ngl lmao so I won't be trying that. I only have experience with ice water hash but it seems very similar once the extraction is done....I also wanted to ask about kneading? Can the Keefe be kneaded by hand to achieve the sticky clumping ? I have discovered, well noticed that if I press the crystals(once dry ofc) I can get that clumping without heating as much, idk if it can apply to Keefe but it's similar w bubble hash. The press bursts the trichome heads that's how the clumping takes place. I believe the same thing is happening when heated, perhaps it could be used to similar affect? I also save my trim but it's fresh trim to make Keefe I cannot use fresh material? Unless I can keep it cold ok I see now hmm. If you had to choose between ice water extraction or sift extraction which you think is best over all ?

Your body temp is heating it up making it stick together
At higher temperature the trichomes rupture like tiny water balloons & start to decarb turning dark & get oily sticky

One member wrapped it in parchment paper and put it in his shoe and walked on it for a week

I let my trim dry or it will stick together when frozen
You need everything loose & sliding against each other
Sift is a 5 min job for me & can do easy half 5 gallon pail full at a time

If I didn’t have the cold weather, I think I might try a CO2 fire extinguisher. 🧯

Dry ice I would do like This & build some sides around the cooler ( bubble foil insulation ) to do the shake
Cold air is heavy

Ahh ok so it is already a bare bone set up nice. You refined to the fastest n easiest way possible, that's why I'm so curious, the bubble bags process takes like 3 days but this can be done on a as needed basis!!! and just keep matwrial fresh in freezer when done!!. Also how many re sifts do you get from a average run ? Once the material is "spent" can it be used for edibles ?

In this post I did 3 shakes & the third I got hardly got anything

Then I give it a wash with alcohol
Did a shake on all my trim from last year, temps hit a bone chilling -38 c last night
As you can see my third shake didn't result in very much, but it shows me it's mostly trichomes that are getting through the 100 micron bag & not plant material . By the third shake the leaves are getting lot more busted up

easy as can be, took only a few minutes and less than $10 .
Glad I didn't waste my money on bubble bags :D

I will now wash w/ alcohol, the trim to see how much resin is left
Also have some bud material, I didn't care for straining right now, in the -30 weather

Wow at first def thought there would be more to it but it looks like the longest part is freezing it. I can't believe it's that fast. I'm gonna do it w this trim should have something like trim in about a month ish. Gonna try it. Worst case I can freeze my bubble bags n use the bigger one to sift. That's awesome 👍 I might be a sift junkie purely based on how easy it is to twerk up a jay worm lol ty for info bro
