WickedGarden's Lamb's Breath Grow Journal 2018

Thank you! Since the two of you (Birdy & Dutch) sound so positive, you have me excited.
Can I expect the stem and branches to stretch?
Should I start with the bloom nutes?
Can’t believe such a tiny plant is at this stage.
I’m glad she is so healthy though. A small yield will not trouble me. I will really look forward to enjoying the fruits of this first experiment.

Thank you for the kind words, but I don't have the knowledge of one.

No need to flush. It is usually done in the end if flowering. Just feed like normal, only with bloom nutrients

Day 29
Repotted from 2-gallon to 5-gallon today.
Looking happy and healthy.
She has grown 1.5 inches in the past two days and has gotten noticeably fatter/fuller.

Hi
She looks happy and yes she will stretch a bit more.
From now on be extra careful with lights etc (no interrupted cycles)
OK, she is going on flower stage, and it is not adviced to re pot her again at this stage.
She is more sensitive and can stress.

Hi AB :)
I was debating with myself about repotting. But I wanted to get in one more repot for 2 reasons:
- she was starting to stretch out/reach over the edge of the pot and was drinking more & more water faster
- I have to go out of town (unfortunate timing) for 5 days next week. I am going to have my father check in on her, but I don’t really want him to have to do anything. I will give her a good watering before I leave and plan to use two large self watering globes so she doesn’t go thirsty.
Been keeping the lights on 24 hours.
I always am so grateful for the advice and feedback.
I’m no expert growing cannabis, but I’m fortunate to have a green thumb. So I think I (and the plant) can recover from most mistakes when they are pointed out to me. I’m the guy who pulls severely neglected office plants out of the trash at work and they spring back to life in short order. I’ll know by tomorrow morning whether she tolerated the transplant well.
Is it OK for me to leave the lights on 24 hours? I’m using both grow and bloom lights at this point.
THANK YOU :D

First hello!!!! I am along for the ride. Beautiful looking lady.

I see plenty of good advice and a picture says a thousand words.

Been keeping the lights on 24 hours

I used to do 24/7 in veg back in the day. I just recently started up again and have read it is important to provide a time for the plant to "sleep" and get rest. From my readings the favourable 18 on/ 6 off seems to be popular.

Others can chime in but just my thought

Happy Growing!

Hello Solar! I appreciate the kind words. And what a cute little Boston Terrier you have!
I agree with you about the rest period. I started with 24 hour lighting and then read that auto flowering seem to benefit from an 18/6 or a 20/4 schedule. So I stupidly/abruptly reduced the light schedule and I think I triggered pre-flowering stage. Then I popped back to 24-hour in hopes of tricking the plant (wishful thinking). :p

Is a timer easy to come by for you? One you can adjust to turn on and off the lights at your choosing.
Yes, I do have a timer. What do you suggest in terms of lighting schedule? She seems to be sucking up all of the light I give her. The lower branches are now pushing through the broad main stem fan leaves and are a gorgeous color.
The only (minor) problem with the 24 hour lighting, combined with the fact that I’m using bloom lighting now too, is that I have to work to keep the temperature below 80°. When I focus on it, I can achieve and maintain 75°. RH is in the low 40s.

I ran my WW autos on 18:6 and they had no complaints. As birdie mentioned once in flower you want to avoid and transplanting or uppotting to avoid shock ! Autos don’t need to change lighting schedules for their entire life cycle if you choose 18/6 or 20/4 run that for the entire life of the auto to keep it as consistent as possible. With photoperiod plants you can veg under 18/6 or 20/4 and then when ready to change to flowering the abrupt light switch from veg lighting times to 12/12 flower lighting times triggers the plant to change over.

So my advice would be for your auto to keep it at a constant 20:4 or 18:6!

I like to give my plants a dark period to rest. The way it was put to me was if you were working 24hrs straight in the sun every day you could do it but you would tire much quicker than working for 18 hrs per day and resting for the rest to regain strength for the next day. This was a great and simple explanation given to me and I have allowed my plants a dark period ever since.

Thanks, Dutch! Great explanation.
It’ll be a lot easier to keep the temperature down too.
