Who Let The Dogs Out? Chem Comparison Grow!

I'm with beez0404 on this one. Two smaller lights, or one long light such as the Mars Hydro TSL-2000 or SP-250.

Whatever you do, don't buy a light without checking the power it draws from the wall. I bought an 1800W dimmable light. Dimmable because the manufacturer claims it's good for a coverage area(100%) of about 5 x 5.5 ft . Yeah, right! It only drew 315W from the wall. The plants at the sides of the tent produced 40% less than the ones in the center (same strains). My DIY COB array produced more than twice the best harvest I got from that 1800W at full power, while drawing the same 315W.

Moral of the story? Stay away from the cheap crap sold through the big online retailers. Check out our sponsors. I know Budget LED, and Mars Hydro both have decent lights at good prices. My Mars Hydro TSL-2000 was $10 USD less than that cursed 1800W LED I bought first.

I'll tell you the same as I tell everyone else. Spend a little more if you have to, because buying the wrong light is the single most expensive mistake a grower can make.
 
All surfaces in my closet are lined with silver mylar. All my plants can be raised or lowered by stacking or un stacking my buckets to get them nearer or further from the lights

I know about the light saturation angles vs height. I'm doing as y'all directed. I'll just need to save juice in other ways. No more outside security lighting and get my fridge and furnace turned way down and hope my pneumonia lung disease don't kill me!!!

Thanks for being concerned Chef. Just been busy as hell lately and couldn't keep the grow up. I'm hoping after the holidays things slow down enough to start up again. I hate not growing. I've been bitten by the cannabis grow bug and it's in my blood.
I also enjoy everyone's company on the 420 community. I'll be back.

We've all been told to keep the grow as bug free as possible but, that "grow cannabis bug" is genetically programmed in every seed or clone! Just another version of Love Potion Number Nine: I took one taste of growing, and I just "started growing everything in sight"!
 
Well guys, I have been naughty about following along in here. Sad thing is... that my little chem dog girl is dead. Not sure what happened, but I lost several little seedlings at the same time. Everybody else among them is thriving. Cant figure it out. Anyway, that's my second seed out of that tin that failed to thrive so I'm breaking out the big guns. I have some of the chem dog from TGS and I was told it is daaaaank and gassy and an otherwise delicious strain. I will be popping that tonight. I want back in the chem dawg game!

My buds are finally dry enough to jar. Here are the final counts;

cookies n chem
PureGas: 52g
Gasfruit: 62g
Fruitflower: 58g
Larfy Buds: 11g

Confidential Cheese
1: 20g
2: 18g

Star Pupil: 45g

total for this run: 265g

I made it over the half pound mark at least!

Thanks Chef, and yes you got some very impressive numbers! It's not just the numbers though, you had some beautiful looking buds that were nothing to sneeze at :thumb:

just wait til y’all get a look at the buds all dried and hardened up. They look so nice, but they’re not quite done yet
