Hps and outdoor
I'm liking the perofmqce of the light and the cost to run it
Now I can't wait to get going. This sounds like what I was looking for low running cost with good results. Here is a picture of the light that I have ordered.Hps and outdoor

I don't know much about lights at all just that more watts gives off more energy and I also just go by the lumens as well to try and simulate daylight. But I'm also trying to save the cost of running the lights which is the main reason for choosing cfls and leds.
That's a pretty cool grow box design. I like that you can see through the front for a proper front row seat while you watch your plants grow. But like people have mentioned aluminum/tin foil isn't that great (though it works as a short-term budget job) and can create hot spots and burn your plant.
Painting the inside flat white was already mentioned but I think you mentioned it currently being out of your budget. I wonder if anyone has tried covering their walls with plain white printer paper. It's white so should reflect decently and it's just paper so you should be able to pick up hundreds of sheets for a few dollars, or you could already have some around the house if you've got a printer or even pinch a few dozen sheets from friends or family. Again not sure how well it would work but theoretically it should. Just an idea for another possible cheap solution.
Oh and I'll be interested to watch your grow. I'll hopefully be growing some White Widow myself at some point after I get my own setup complete.
Im using a 600w hps sunblaster by lumii the ballast to power the bulb and a bulb with ballast is £100 im doing my first ever grow am 11-12 days into flower and am so excited
I didn't know this next grow IL be doing thisHola MaryJane
If I may suggest...
you may want to consider painting your area flat white instead of using aluminum foil. Flat white is a much better reflector,
aluminum foil can create hot spots.
I'll be checking back to see the progress of your grow...good luck
I was told superthrive was good, it has b1 in it and is supposed to be good for root development, i bought some and used it early on and it seemed to do good, its pretty cheap also, wm carries it for about $6.✌Quick question for anyone who knows the answer, I was doing a bit of research and came across the idea of adding some vitamin B to my soil. Here is an extract from the site I was on;
There are many B vitamins that help marijuana plants:
Vitamin B5 is essential for marijuana plants. Too little of it, and they die.
Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) is essential for your marijuana plants because it helps them in carbohydrate production and metabolism that fuel foliar and floral growth.
Vitamin B1 assists plants in phosphorus uptake. Phosphorus is a major essential nutrient for marijuana plants, especially in bloom phase.
Riboflavin (B2) helps your plants fight diseases and viruses that commonly attack marijuana plants.
Niacin (B3) promotes marijuana plant metabolism and cellular integrity.
Biotin (B7) helps your plants manufacture amino acids and energy.
Folic Acid helps your cannabis plants maintain genetic integrity so they grow out to be the strains you hoped they'd be.
What I want to know is how would I go about adding it to the soil, as in should I just crush B vitamins and put the powder over the soil or should I mix it with the water when watering/feeding? How much should I give and when should I start giving the plants the vitamins? Also would just like to know is this a good idea? From what I am reading it would greatly benefit from the addition of vitamins but I would just like somebody to confirm this for me before I try anything. Thanks in advance.
