What's In Jim's Grow Room?

Bloom room update: The Royal Gorilla yielded 54.6 grams. It's improvement for me.

The remaining four girls in the bloom room were sprayed with Spinosad Monday night and have all been twice inspected. I should have sprayed again last night but it didn't happen. I'll take care of that tonight.

It's It Punch and Gelat.o_OG are now in "packing on some bulk" territory as their buds are thickening and both are getting frosty. I may take a test bud on the Gelat.o_OG next week to see if there's anything to it. She did eventually grow a little close to the LED and now wears a proper hashtip on that top bud.

Chemdawg and Chem 91 x Aliendog Cherry are really just beginning to produce nice flowers and have a ways to go but I feel the gaps of those stems will be filled if all goes well. I'm feeding every two days now and all the girls get about 1/2 gallon each.

looking good jim loving those pistils on the a dog cherry pretty don't let up on the spraying bud kill them fuggars!

Congrats on the stellar increase in yield Jim. :high-five:

Spray every three days to get them all dead. Every three days for a month solid. PITA for sure, but the alternative is to break it all down and sterilize.

You’re getting ready to close up shop for the summer anyway, aren’t you? Still....shudder ... they give all of us the creeps. :laughtwo:

In five more days your Punch will be at the same timeline as that tremendously energetic branch we shared Jim. You planning a harvest soon? :battingeyelashes:

You obviously take MUCH NICER photos then I do. I'm comparing my Gelat.o_OG to yours and love the structure of yours compared to mine. Yours is more open around the buds where mine is just a mess/blob. I flipped this one on 2/15 so it's been in my flowering tent for exactly 7 weeks today.
Here's another pic of her from this morning. You'll see the neem damaged leaves.

As I recall, of the 3 seedling plants, there were 2 phenotypes and you kept the odd one. Mine and @MrGreene 's plant should be similar except his was topped.

Super healthy looking!

Thanks and welcome aboard.

There are four branches that I should completely remove. Yeah I guess you could say that would be harvesting. :D

It seems I spent the whole day yesterday dealing with plants. Most of that was feeding the blooming girls and potting up some cuts that had finally developed some roots.

Then there are the girls in the Bloom tent. They still have a ways to go but it appears that It's It Punch isn't drinking much here recently and she may be trying to finish a little early. Gelat.o.OG may come down a bit early but we'll just wait and look at the trichomes. Chemdawg and Chem 91 x Aliendog Cherry are just pumping pistils and filling in those gaps in the branches. Flowers seem to be growing well and they all seem to be enjoying the Nectar for the Gods nutrients.

@SweetSue gift me a couple of buds of her Carnival and I've taken a liking to it. :bongrip:

Your grow this go around looks to be spot on, Jim! On the @SeedsMan site the flowering time of the Gelat.OG is 8-9 weeks. I suspect that would be 8-9 weeks from when the first pistils appear? I've never been able to figure that out. Does flowering start from when you go to 12/12 lighting or when the first pistils appear?

I just go by the trichromes and when I have the colors I'm wanting the plant is ready. I do think that your Gelat.OG is going to swell up the last 2-3 weeks. That's what I'm looking for with mine...….seeing the buds swelling up. When I see that I'll start checking the trichromes. I'll be looking for between 10% and 20% amber with her.

Yeah what Beez0404 said, I'm curious to know too!....:peace:
A few years ago I used to count flower days from the date I thought a flower bud was forming; i.e. pistils/stigmas forming from more than one calyx. I think @Morglie was the only one to agree with counting flower days like this.

What he said way back when

I've come to believe that breeders likely provide flowering days or weeks from the indoor lighting change to 12/12 or whatever. For control purposes I believe most commercial seeds are from indoor growing operations. I suspect also that the commercial seed producers are probably not growing organically in 2 gallon pots using 4 year old LED lamps.

But I gave up being on either side of this argument. For my purposes the flowering lighting schedule is 12/12 and I'll note the days since the plant entered into that schedule - the flip and I'll give you the number of days since flip in the picture description or I'll mention it somewhere. Then I'll harvest the plant based on what I see. I'd like to see a proper fade or perhaps some nice coloring in the leaves.

Filter all the breeder information knowing how your grow will be different from optimal conditions. Filter that many seed producers will attempt to appeal to those wishing for a short flowering period.

Just to be practical about flowering times I almost always anticipate 9 weeks but I almost always harvest on the early side. Rarely do I see more than a few amber trichomes and in some cases none.

I'm not sure I answered the question or if I even know the answer. Pretty stoned here.

Hey Jim great looking plants!

Do you defol through out flower or just a couple big defols with maintenance sprinkled in?
Actually I'm a big slacker right now and haven't done any trimming of stuff growing in the interior of the plant. There are a couple good reasons to thin all that stuff as the plant will likely concentrate its energy on the prime plant material that you leave and to deter grey mold or mildew by allowing greater air flow.

The "no good" reason for me not doing this is pure laziness and the tomato wire I use to stake a few of the plants up. My soil lacks something the plant uses for branch strength. I don't feed silicon so my experience has been to stake the branches because those flowers are going to be heavy. Ideally, I should feed some Protekt and/or trim branches when I do the staking.

But to better answer any lingering questions, keeping unimpressive growth from the interior of the plant is a good idea whether done a little at a time or all at once a few weeks into flowering.

Just lots of boring stuff going on here. Gelat.o.OG and It's It Punch are within a week or so of being harvested. I actually thought I'd harvest Gelat.o.OG fairly soon as she has mostly cloudy trichomes. I've smoked only 2 bowls of IIP today and it might be that an early harvest is in the cards for her too. She's wicked good smoke with lots of body rushes and tremors. My resting heart rate comes in around 89 BPM about 30 minutes after cranking on the pipe. Interesting stuff.

Chemdawg and Chem 91 x Aliendog Cherry are marking time with some nice bud stacking and they are getting heavy.

Chem 91 x Aliendog Cherry clone has a short journey ahead of her.
