What's In Jim's Grow Room?

Just a dull summer day here with overcast. I went to DMV this morning and as soon as I got in line they announced that they couldn't do renewals unless customers had the paperwork from the required inspection. Of course I didn't have that because I was driving the truck and the license renewal was for my little car. Maybe I should anticipate everything.

Males are living in my bed room and I hope they're enjoying it. All the girls are doing great I guess although the tent temperature was 88o F this morning. I'm running the lamp about 40% so I'm just not going to get the most out of it until it cools a bit around these parts. The Jellium mom was moved to the bloom tent this morning but not photographed with these girls.

That's it folks. I was smoking Purple Punch early but switched to White Widow before going to DMV. I did finally get my renewal done in a smaller office in one of the little towns in this county. I didn't need the additional paperwork after I stopped at the house to pick it up. Just goes to show you DMV sucks so you might as well get high before going.

I'm just happy that the girls are still green.

Your Ultra Dawgs are the stars of the show. Really nice looking plants.

So earlier this year I wasn't going to try to bloom anything because it gets so hot around here and the plants are not dealing well with this. I live in an old home that has insufficient insulation and an air conditioning system that run almost all the time. It barely keeps up. My new lamp is probably only running 40% or so and I've had some tent temperatures reaching 90o F but primarily runs in the 86o to 88o range. My every other day watering is also not sufficient as they might run a bit dry. This will allow the plants to show all the soil deficiencies which are many I'm sure. Just a bit of heat stress being created here.

As one who is now not here used to say "We're not growing leaves. We're growing buds." I only hope the girls think the same way. I gave them a good clean up this morning and spread 1 1/2 gallons of a light mixture of the Nectar for the gods products especially the liquid calcium.

The two males that were sharing my bedroom decided to explode Tuesday morning. Today is Sunday. I collected the pollen and used an artist brush to pollinate the girls. Both Ultra Dog bloomers had UD pollen and both ATF x Jellium got dusted with their strain's male jizz. One branch of the TK 91 was dusted with some UD pollen just for kicks.

So here's what they looked like first thing this morning.
And here they are after I cleaned them of uglies and gave them a good soil drench.

And here's a peek in the 3 x 3 overflow tent which is full, mostly green and doing well. The two larger moms rear left and center require constant clean up and Chem 91 x Aliendog Cherry is a true PITA as the dead leaves string the stem when I try to remove them. Almost all have to be cut off so I took 3 cuts for new moms and I'll do the same for the Sour Angel as soon as I up can the clones. It's really time to make some S1 seeds to get those genetics in seed form. Big moms take up too much space and I've been unwilling to put the time in that's required to bonsai these girls. Oh well. A stoner's life.

Chem 91 x Aliendog Cherry is in my pipe today.

Alaska Thunder Fuck x Jellium

I get just a little bit excited when I witness things happening in the bloom tent. When I looked in this morning I noticed 2 flowers on the ATF x Jellium girls with seeds forming. They were much higher on the plant than I expected which just confirms to me that pollen easily moves around in the surrounding air. I grabbed the camera and attempted to get some good shots and then magnified them once I had them transferred to my PC. They turned out fairly good. These show the swelling within the calyx and most have the withering and browning of the pistils (stigmas). Pretty neat witnessing nature right in the throes of one of her finest moments. Yep....I get excited when I see these things.

Enjoy. In the pipe this morning is Amherst Sour Diesel which was jarred 12/31/2016.

Great job breeding new seeds, Jim! I'm like you, I love to see seeds forming when I have pollinated a plant.

No way at all to vent and add a scrubber in tent to filter odours ? Then it would control heat bit better ? Hmm.

High Joe...I appreciate the invite to the auction last night.

I have exhaust and carbon filter and don't have an odor issue. The heat will not prevail forever. I just like to bitch about it at times.

Speaking of heat. My 8x8 grow area was 91 yesterday and 93 today so they are battling the heat bad right now. so I bought a portable 12,000 BTU unit that should get my temps in check . Still battling the heat in the tent though but I cant put a portable unit or even a window AC unit. That would draw too much juice for the wiring and breaker so it is what it is

I’m hoping this heat breaks soon. Make sure they get plenty of water.
That was part of my problem. Lazy stoner/grower issues. I was in there early this morning with a few jugs of water and took the trimmers to the fast growing clones in the overflow tent. This heat will soon be gone I hope.

I'm one of those folks that thinks everything will make sense after this election is done. o_O
