What am I doing wrong?

Do you recommend this type of mix ?
That's a good brand. :thumb:
Do you use DYNOMYCO ?
I find it very good for roots.

Welcome to the group. A lot of knowledgeable people who can help out. Often those new leaves will look thin, small and a lighter color or green when they first start growing. Usually nothing to worry about unless those leaves stay small and light green.

Im using coco peat, and I added biobizz soil mix on top of it for the extra secondary minerals.
You have created a hybrid grow medium which is an OK thing. A lot of the growers here have come up with our own blends of soils, coco coirs and peat mosses. Since it is custom it gets a bit harder to figure out the best way to work with it.

What was the name of the "coco peat" product that you selected? Coco coir mixed with peat moss is different than coco coir which has been finely ground up so it looks and feels like peat moss.

Some of the popular BioBizz mixes use peat moss as the base. How much peat moss is used and what is added to the grow medium is what the company changes in the formula. Then there is a coco mix that BioBizz sells. What was the name of the BioBizz product you used?

No, I just googled it to find out what it is and it sounds interesting.

It's a local brand, I can't find it online. The medium bag wrote "Coco Hummus, Coco Peat". Anyway the thing is, that this coco peat was unwashed and with no perlite in it for extra aeration. Also it was hummus like substance, more dusty so it would get more mushy like after each watering and would not drain very well.
Anyway the thing is that I added on top of the coco peat some biobizz all mix soil. The thought was enriching the currect coco peat with some extra nutrients and minerals found in soil.
So now I ordered some of the finest coco coir, washed from salts and some perlite to make a new mix and transplant all of my girls into a new medium.
Until then I water my plants with 5.8 ph water, half the strength GH recommends just in case my plants don't get burned, because it's hard to flush with my currect medium. To flush means to overwater.
The last time I flushed, to achieve a 20% runoff water I had to overwater, my girls were droopy.

Sounds like you will be able to get it figured out.

Never be afraid to ask any question. Even questions that might seem silly or ridiculous, are actually quite common. No grower worth their salt is going to make you feel bad. Experienced growers likely had that same question way back. I know I did.
Anyone that says you are stupid, well. Ignore them. Majority of us here just love the plant and growing it.

I feed evey day to run of in coco.
But my ladies are happy.
I was not feeding everyday when they was not.
Just dont let the coco dry out i say.
So that might push it to every other day while they recover from hunger
But as said dont ever let it dry out.
You have had some great advice above ;)

Thanks a lot, I'm also trying to think like that.

I wish I could water everyday but then I would be full of rot in the roots.
However Im taking notes about what my plants like. How many nutrients etc.
Recently I topped my plants and the next day I started LST. I had to remove some fan leaves just to get light through the lower levels. I wanted to ask you people. I topped which means HST, and now I do LST.
Is it too much for the plants?
Do you do both or just one kind of training ?
EDIT: Also can you combine LST HST and SCROG ?
I'm collectin rain water also. I think it's better than normal water.
I took a ph reading from rainwater and it's 7,4.
The thing is that I googled ph of rainwater and it says it should be around 5.5.
Your thoughts ?

My goal is to try and train to my space.
So I top and train with out a scrog just support if needed.
If I had the room I might never top or train.

You can combine all three methods I say.
It’s what works for you in your space.

Is your ph pen working right would be first thought.

My advice from wasting money and so much
Time and effect

1.find a medium stick to it at least till you know what your doing well.

2.Keep it as simple as possible for a good few grows.

3.Never react to something you read online.
Until the information you found is verified in a number of places/ people.

Hey @Bipolar29, and welcome to the forum!

I'm curious, what made you choose coco coir for your first grow? Are you aware that growing in coir is generally considered as more difficult for new growers, as compared to growing in soil?

I see you've mentioned you're ordering new coir, and perlite, and will transplant to that. That's all good, and I wish you luck.

If you'd like to see some ideas for soil, you can check out the links in my signature re: commercial potting soils, and my own custom soil mix.

happy growing! 🌱

Soil is too easy, so I want to learn new things.
I've tried soil but I wasn't happy with the yields.
Everyday I learn a new thing.
Today's lesson was to calibrate my ph meter correctly.
I didn't know I should store in a ph7 solution even turned off :P

Lower yields are common for most growers the first time they try growing in a new media whether it is soil, coco, peat moss or even a water method. As we become familiar with the small points of any method the quality and quantity of the harvest can go up.

I agree with you 100%.
UPDATE: I got my new stuff, in the end I bought BioBizz Coco Mix and perlite seperately.
So I did a mix about 80/20(perlite). Also I had an idea that 5 gallon fabric pots too big for me now. So I kept 4 of my plants in 5 gallon pots, and I transplanted only 2 of 6 total plants to the new medium in 3 gallon pots.
I transplanted the younger ones(2 weeks younger than the rest) because of the smaller root system.
Of course I must have shocked them a bit because I tried not to damage the roots in the proccess but you know it's impossible not to :p
The new medium I created it's so fluffy and I think will do the job perfectly.
Now with the rest, Im gonna be so patient with the watering until they have a bigger root system in the 5 gallons pots.
I read everyone guides everyday in the forum. I try to be patient and fix the domino of disaster I created from my rookie mistakes, but I think now I am on the right track. Thanks for your help people.
I will keep you posted here. :)

Did you see my pictorials of how to fill a pot properly with coco perlite?

Nope, sorry.
Actualy I got lost. You have so many posts my friend.
I saw posts that you used dynomyco and sheep manure etc etc.
So I thought just do coco80% perlite 20% because everything else seemed all greek to me. Although Im Greek :P

That's solo to 1 gal pots.
But the principal will work in any pot.

Even if you only use coco and perlite it's still a great way to fill your pot.
Increased root growth & health.
Easy to water.
Let me know if I can help.
Take care my friend.

Hello Bill!
I could certainly use your help.
As you see in the first 2 photos the plant is lagging, it seems weak for some reason in comparison with the rest.
It's the same strain.
I water at ph 5.8 and use BioBizz Cal-Mag 2ml per liter.
I feed them at this stage with Terra Aquatica Tripart: 1ml FloraMicro, 1ml FloraGro and 0,5ml FloraBloom per Liter
All my plants are a bit lime green if you notice, they don't have that healthy green color.
Did I miss something ?
Thanks
EDIT: I forgot to mention that most of the time I don't water till runoff. Maybe this is a salt build up ?

Coco has to be watered to run off.
Roots at the bottom are searching for nutrients.
Plus you get salts build up if you don't.
The measurements you gave is that exactly what the schedule calls for?
I don't have a copy.
Is the coc9 washed & buffeted?

Looks too acidic to me, general yellowing is a sure sign in my book
Just flushed mine with pH 6.5 CaMg for that very reason
