In this thread I will be updating regularly on four different strains being grown together in the same environment, so I will put labels on each photo/post so everyone knows which strain is which throughout this thread.

Off to another adventure here so I invite and encurage everyone to participate, post Comments, questions, conversations and criticism.

3x3x6 ft Pure-Tent
10" Carbon-Filter and 4" Vortex Fan
24" Box fan strapped right to the lighting.
Samsung LM561C 4pcs strip lighting (Max 240w at wall) DIY Construction.
PROMIX HP Mycorrhizae medium
Three gallon plastic garbage cans (Hempy style)

Cannabis strains we are growing;

#2) Blue Dream
#3) Sour Diesel
#4) Black Sugar

Nutrients: Gaia green 444, 284 and Worm Castings

---- Lighting Reference ----

Using an Android application to get a ballpark range of lighting levels that I'm aiming for during the grow.

Vegetative 30,000 - 40,000 lux
Flowering 50,000 - 65,000 lux

< 15,000 lux - sparse or "stretchy" growth - plant isn't getting enough light

15,000 - 50,000 lux - good amount of light for healthy vegetative growth

45,000 - 65,000 lux - optimal amount of light for cannabis plants in the flowering stage

70,000 - 85,000 lux - a lot of light, some strains do okay at this light level.

Kosher Daddy Strain is comprised of crossing two unique strains that are packed with super old school Genitics...

Jew Gold 1974 (Father) X Granddaddy purple (Mother) Resulting in Kosher Daddy!

JEW GOLD 1974
Produces staggering levels of THC, with some samples testing over 29%. Known as one of the most odiferous OG Kush-related strains, it has a unique yet familiar smell reminiscent of rich earth and fruit, and is considered by many to be one of the tastiest smokes around

The flavor is initially quite earthy and pungent, but quickly these grounding tastes blend into the sweet, citrus and pine of a dynamic flavor profile

Granddaddy Purple.
The flavor is of exotic candy-like aroma. Overall, the aroma of is sweet and citrusy, with earthy undertones that spark slight glimpses of grape and other juicy fruits.

Strain - Blue Dream

[ ] Description

A big-yielding and rangy Blueberry cross, Blue Dream has a wonderful sativa-dominant effects package and retains much of the Blueberry taste from its mother. Developed in the Northern California medical scene, it is becoming very popular in other medical states for its potency and high production.

[ ] Story

Though the creator remains a mystery, this strain came out of the Santa Cruz area medical scene in Northern California and has since blown up in every medical and recreational marijuana marketplace around the country since, becoming one of the most popular strains available. The strain was recently recreated by DJ Short himself as "Azure Haze," using a special Silver Haze mother and a Blueberry F4, one generation closer to the mother plant than the F5 used in the original cross.

[ ] Aroma

Sweet and floral berry, often with a hint of citrus-sandalwood sharpness from the Haze.

[ ] Flavor

Much like the smell, Blue Dream's flavor is a floral berry with some almost 'purple' notes at times (grape, flowers) — some expressions are heavy on the floral, almost hitting a lavender note.

[ ] Qualities

Very uplifting and cerebral, it takes mostly after its Haze father — but in the background exists a strong sense of body relaxation and quality pain relief. Energetic and aware to start, Blue Dream's potency may still catch some consumers by surprise — there are some rushy tendencies early on. The strain evokes lots of creative energy despite occasional bouts of scatter-brained distraction, and at times the user will find themselves in a state of near-euphoria. Solid body relief seems to increase as it goes along, building until it becomes more of an indica feeling to finish; warm and relaxed, with the patient completely at-ease. We recommend this strain as a daytime or early evening choice, a great way to take the edge off of the day and relax the mind and body for a restful night of sleep as the effects decline.

Strain Black Sugar

[ ] Description

Black Sugar is an indica dominant hybrid of Black Domina, L. A. OG and Critical kush, It has kept the medicinal properties of L. A OG, a good flowering rate on the Black Domina lineage, and the compact size of the classic Critical strain.

The variety has a fruity citrus aroma. Dense smoke gives the effect of relaxation and body buzz. Its Good for Smoking before going to bed, sure to become one of your favorite strains.

are you using promix in a hempy style grow? hempys utilize a res, not sure it's good for a promix media.

also 3 gallon buckets are huge for 4 hempys in a 3x3. i do 6 2L and barely have enough room in space close to a 4x4, my plants are super managed, trained, defol'd, etc .. in order to do it.

Yeah buddy. I always do hempys now, likely wont do anything els. Benefits for me are so good. I do use HP Pro mix with Mycorrhizae, also mix in a small bag of regular organic soil, so its likely 80% pro mix and 20% soil.

Even my current grow is using hempy style with the same medium/method in the blue party cups lol I even got the holes drilled in the little cups.

This is the part I love.... You water the plant and within 12 to 24hrs its desert bone dry, water again and its drawing air down into the roots every time. ( water slowly so the air gets sucked in) Basically I'm getting wet/dry cycle and loads of air into the roots. This means bigger fatter healthy plants.

I just got some garbage bucket from the dollar store someone would use in there bathroom.
Measuring 8 inches wide and 10 inches tall, so maybe there actually about 2gallons in size?

Either way I just drill 1 hole about 1.5 inches from them bottom for drainage and done.
The water that's under 1.5" inside the bucket, leaves enough moisture for the roots, bugs, nutrients magic to all continue, also makes the roots come search for water so they grow more.

Been growing it for the past 3 years and try to always have some on hand, it’s been my goto ever since I grew out the first 4 beans from Humboldt Seed
