Welcome All My Friends To The Show That Never Ends - Canna M & Nismo12 Team Up!

:thumb: nice. I can't wait till I have room to start my fruit punch. Yours is looking great.
The smell is sweet and fruity. Makes my mouth water already. The pineapple chunk sitting next to it has a similar smell as well. But we have two clones of the fruit punch, so we will have quite the abundance of it lol.

From flip you say. I never could find out which it was but it made sense to me the way I put it. Plus I think it is just a guideline since one plant of the same strain may go longer than another. Looking at the trics is the only way to tell when to chop. It took almost 3 weeks for our SSH to show any form of pistils. I know she is a sativa and will go longer.

Nismo, I hope you don't mind me throwing in my nickel bag's worth, but something worth pointing out...

Trichome color can be misleading since different strains reach their peaks with different mixes of cloudy/amber. So, when growing a NEW strain, I recommend starting to take samples early. Check the trichs and sample. Wait a couple/few days and repeat. When you're happy with where it's at, then ALL future grows of that strain can be harvested with the same mix of cloudy/amber. :Namaste:

Believe it or not, I'm still pretty new to this, so let me ask Mr. Krip, when you sample, how do you dry the sample? Do you quick dry or give it a few days to dry naturally? I'm always in too much of a rush, but quick-dried is usually unsatisfactory unless you're on desperate mode, in which case who care, eh?

I'll usually take a small lower/mid bud and do a quick-dry. You just need enough for a couple/few tokes. You won't get a good idea of what it will taste like once it's cured, but the trichomes don't tell you that either! :cheesygrinsmiley:

You will get a good idea of the effects! :tokin:

EDIT: Another reason this is a good practice is the each individual has their own concept/opinion of what the "ideal effects" are. So, especially if you're growing for yourself, you can really fine-tune the experience. Otherwise, there's always the 80/20 rule! :cheesygrinsmiley:

I am looking at getting a T5 panel for a breeding tent. It will be plenty of light and I will be able to choose 6500k blue tubes for growing the resulting seedlings. Blue light promotes female development in the first month of growing. Right now I have the seedlings under an eshine 265W panel with veg spectrum on only to make it mostly Blue light. Once the plants show preflowers I will put them under the 600W HPS.
Yeah, I'm a T5 guy too, ~<$200 for 2", 8 bulb 2x2 frame. Great setup, great price. At 192 watts from wall no heat in 4x4.

Cheers

How does that usually work? Just pull off part of a bud? I'm sure it sounds like a dumb question.

I pick a small bud from lower/middle. Even the large colas are made up of individual smaller buds. Just get one that's big enough to get a sample.

You don't need to re-start the nutes. She'll use up the stored nutrients in the fan leaves. Once she starts showing significant yellowing (there's almost always some yellowing towards harvest time!), it will be a sign she's using up the stored nutrients, but certainly shouldn't be an issue letting go an extra week on plain H2O (it doesn't even need to be PH adjusted since you're not worried about the plant going into lock-out, at this point! ;) )

My girls are finishing up and watered this morning. I've tried to be very consistent in my adjustment just so it doesn't get overlooked.

This makes so much sense. Thank you Mr. Krip.

I'll have to look into getting some t5s then. I'm assuming they have 6500k and 2700k bulbs for veg and flower? It'll only be used for breeding so I'm not too worried about intensity and getting giant buds with it. Then if all else fails we can use it for seedlings and such.

Thanks for throwing that in for us. For autos with the little bit of bud there is, it would be difficult for us to pull a sample. But for photos, when they start getting close to the finish I think that is a good idea. We only flush for a week and use sledgehammer. It worked nicely on the last harvest and it's not harsh at all. 3 or 4 more weeks and we will pull a sample from 3 of our girls.

Thanks everyone for the information and I'm glad other people are asking questions also. It helps us and others as well. Remember there are no dumb questions and there is atleast one or more people thinking the same thing. So a big thank you to everyone!
