I'm not the brix expert yet, but Doc is a stickler for drying out a pot and scoring them roots before a transplant. The size of those roots don't look to scary. I asked Doc recently about a photo of his that showed a freaking fishing net of roots that came out of a 1 gal.
And pictures like that is why I wasn't sure if transplant was needed yet.
The roots aren't healthy. Solocups perhaps? I hate those things. I used to use 'em till I realized what was happening.
You need a deep, soaking rescue drench. Prune the bad leaves off and look to the new growth. They aren't ready to transplant yet....wait for healthy roots to form. You could go much, much longer in those pots if you dunk them.
