Alright everyone I'm going to need your help for this one.

I have no problem spending money for the sake of this hobby, if you couldn't tell, but the price of LED lights is kinda steep.

About 2 weeks ago Noob4x4grow jokingly said something along the lines of making our own LED. Well, that planted a seed in my brain and it has grown to a full idea.

I plan on using 100 watt COB LED to make the light. Was thinking upwards of 16 of them. :yikes: The one thing I would like your help on is the color of led. Now I could get full spectrum ($30+ for one LED) or we could go warm white 3500k for $2 per led. This will be used just for flower mind you. If I wanted to put in veg, I would change some leds.

Since I've been here and in the grand scheme of things hasn't been long, I've seen so many people get free seeds and lights and such from our sponsors here. I constantly see people waiting for things to happen and miss opportunities because they sit and wait rather than venture out there and grab life. With the amount of attraction of subs you've already gained, it might be wise to discretely promote your grow to some of these LED vendors and see if they would provide a sweet light or maybe a huge discount.

Their spectrum serves for veg and flower.

I`ve built many DIY, it's worth the time and effort and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Here's a little creation I diddled with for just a couple of hours to make it work.

I make my own power supplies, have an electronics lab to do it.

I was thinking warm white and red mix. Going to place an order on stuff today. I'll probably forget something lol
 
Good luck picking decent reds.

The $2 chips come in 630NM typically, but for $30 each chip I've seen 650,660,670NM.

Price goes up for quality.

Haha so what you really mean is you'll do it only if nismo provides a step by step guide with detailed pictures & explanations. Great idea, I might do it too then but only if nismo makes it look easy & takes about half an hour :rofl::rofl:

Good luck nismo, sounds like quite the undertaking but one that's well worth it for life if you manage to get your head around it. I think you have to solder all the bulbs together & use some kind of circuit board but I have no idea how. where or what to get.

Ladies and gents we have roots!

The FIM from Bonnie has started to have visible roots in the rapid rooter. She actually has started to perk up as well.

One that we took from the purple kush 6 weeks in flower didn't take. But I'm excited that we have another OG Kush that is going to be running around.
 
What do you guys think about doing something like this it make sure everything is even and spread out? Kinda like a SCROG I guess.

I have sent off a few emails last night and this morning. What do we have to lose right? Thanks for the advice, I was doing as you said, just sitting back waiting for an opportunity. Now I have reached out. Now we wait. :bigtoke:
 
Thanks Masonman! We plan on smoking, making oils, collecting hash, making butter for edibles. We have a lot in store for these beauties! Just wait and see. My dad has had an extensive back surgery and has had back pain for 20+ years. He already medicates by smoking, but we're looking for other ways for him to get the other beneficial effects from marijuana.
