Weenmeoff's Inside Soil Alien Abduction Grow Journal

That looks a possible slight Magnesium deficiency, but would love to see some better pics. Mag is one of the first nutes to get locked out with improper PH.

You can ID a mag deficiency by yellowing between the veins of the leaves (called, "intervenal chlorosis").

Make sure your PH is in range and it should work itself out, and adding a little cal-mag won't hurt. In the mean time, a foliar feed with epsom salts should help.

OH, just a minute...may i add to this. Ween, please don't give the Epsoms by foliar feeding . Give by spreading on the surface , or by mixing well with the next two-three-drinks. Giving by spraying on the leaves acts as a laxative for the entire system. Not good. It helps to mix them up in a glass of warm water first , it really speeds up the dissolve process, then mix that up with your feed water. Hope i havn't upset you Krip but this info came right from Doc. I used to believe as you only months ago , so...anyhow have a great Sunday everyone,...still have one more "sleep in" yeepa !:Namaste:

Actually, I think even Doc will agree with ONE exception! :)

When there are problems with the roots and the roots are unable to uptake the nutes, that's when to foliar.

Since we're presuming his issue is due to lockout and the nutes can NOT be ingested by the roots, the foliar will give immediate relief/results.

:Namaste:

Thanks you two! I will post pics in a couple hours when lights go on. I still think it's odd that only 2 of 3 have the issue.

Not sure I even have any Epsom salts but I'll get some. So did we decide that it's ok to do 1 Epsom salts foliar spray! If so, what solution?

This is an emergency application ...one teaspoon / gallon. Cheers.

So i took the girls out of the tent for the pics under a CFL and they don't look as bad, maybe still a mag def....? A bunch of pics below. The Epsom salts I found have eucalyptus and spearmint, if needed is that ok or should I get plain Epsom salts?

They're at 30 days since flip.

Let me know what you think of above pics and if I should foliar with EPROMs and if the salts I have are ok or if I should get plain epsoms.

The George's are +31 and their clones went 76 days so I'm guessing I should back build at around day 38, does that sound right? Will I be doing each bud?

Rock on!

:theband:

You should use plain epsoms and not anything with additives. Although, it's very tough to tell from those pics if it's an actual mag deficiency. The foliar won't hurt, though. Just don't make it a habit. When the roots are working, you do want to feed through the roots, as Duggan mentioned.

Yes, good call Krip, they don't look too bad at all, and i would say the roots are fantastic under them right now. What i would do if they were mine....spray right now with Brix and Way Ahead X10 the WayX10 has stuff in it to help with these exact minor issues. You should spray it twice at half strength over two days with the WayX10 and Brix OK! I would also spread out two tablespoon fulls on the top of the soil and water in with next drink. As i said earlier , getting a second , better look , i still say to NOT foliar with them ...the roots are fine! Try as i suggest ...give then a few days after that , then post us a few pics of her then. I bet they start to look better. let us know cuz Krip and i would like to see them perfect , eh Krip! cheers guys.:circle-of-love:

Will do, thanks Krip!

On to my next dilemma, Donna is 79 days old, Hillary and Bernice are 69 days old and clone #2 georgeanne is 55 days old. There is no room in the flower tent. Should I wait until the George's are done flowering, approx 45 days or have 2 flower tents?

Here is what they look like as of a couple days ago.

My apologies...I think I led you a little astray...

If you're growing with Doc Bud's kit, the issue should NOT be nute lockout. I'd take Duggan's or one of the other HBB grower's advice.

There's a big difference between soil and Doc Bud's kit! :)

Not using the kit yet. Will be transferring the newest clones into the kit soil once they're root bound.

OK...That's what I thought by the title of the journal, but after Duggan mentioned Doc and I saw the other link in your signature, I was concerned I may have given you inaccurate info.

In that case, I would go with the foliar. Again, it won't hurt and may help them green up.

It doesn't appear to be a N deficiency (common cause of yellowing) since that starts at the lower growth and works it's way up. It appears that you're seeing the issues in the new growth, so Mag, IMHO, would be the most likely cause/cure.

One of the great things about Doc's kit is that you should never have to worry about PH or lockout! ;)

I'm not sure how I missed this post. I was all ready to do an Epsom salt foliar but this s suggesting Brix and way ahead x10. As a reminder, these plants are not in kit soil. Do you still have the same recommendation? Thinking what Krip said about the foliar can't hurt seems to make sense but should I be doing it with the things you suggested?

I am moving towards Doc's soil but not there yet.

Hey Ween, got the bud show going I see:bravo: got unsubbed somehow, but back in again.:thumb:

Welcome back Dirt! :passitleft:

Ween, so sorry my friend, I thought you were in "kit" soil, your not , so go ahead and foliar if ya like. Cheers bud!

Thanks Duggan! I only have 20 minutes of light so will wait until lights on tonight. Someone suggested not to foliar right before lights out.

Have a great week everyone!

:theband:

Hey Ween, yes that is correct , wait until the lights have been on for at least an hour , that way the leaves stomata are open and will allow the foliar to work as it should OK, plus ya don't wanna soak your plants right before lights out, more chance of mold that way too! have an awesome day Ween.:circle-of-love:

Anyone have any thoughts about my veg/flower dilemma? I can add that I have a closet I can use for veg while the flowers finish. I was going to put all 8 veg plants into DBHBB soil soon, as soon as roots are sufficient, then leave on veg for another week or two so that would leave about 21 days or so of overlap. I would take clones for the next round.

Also wondering if I should finish my current veg plants n regular organic soil/nutes and start my new clones in DBHBB soil so they are on kit soil from the start.....?

Thanks Duggan! Much appreciated! :high-five:

I did the epsom salts foliar last night on the budding plants.

My vegging plants have something going on. They've been in the tent for about A week and i haven't had a chance to hook up the exhaust fan, only the intake fan. Temps have been good.

Let me know what you think. They started drooping yesterday so got water with calmag today.

They've perked up quite a bit since I watered them a few hours ago.

I also watered the George's with added Cal mag, 2 gallons each. They seem to be looking better already since the epsom foliar last night.
