I don't appreciate spending an hr. writing a message and having it disappear from this site. I need to talk to the people who run this and see if this is something I want to deal with in the future. If I have to re log in in the middle of a blog with no warning or anything and then to lose everything is something that I pay off credit card companies and close accts. over. This is supposed to be fun not an aggravation. I spent two hours writing somethingf and it's been trashed. Thanks editor!
hoppie, it doesn't just happen here, most forums edit this way.
What I do is... anytime I post something I think is worthwhile I keep a "running Wordpad" open - as soon as I write something,
before I hit Preview Post I right click > Select All > right click > Copy ---- then paste it into my running Wordpad and click SAVE. Then I proceed to read over and edit my post if necessary. Once I make my final submission I will Select All once more > copy/paste into the Wordpad for
permanent saving.
This way if a post is deleted or even if your PC loses power and shuts completely off, you have a fresh new saved copy of your post.
(Not here) I've lost too many "important" writings of mine over time, so I have learned to
never not save something I don't want to turn up missing after I write it. This is especially critical with email.
Then, if a mod edits your post removing it, you've always got a back-up spare to then go to the mods/admin and ask what it was about the particular post tripped their deletion triggers.
Otherwise writing and posting is just too frustrating an experience - not just on message boards.
Before I landed here I was on the biggest weed forum on the net with nearly 70k members. I was sailing along for almost 2 weeks -- had 20 friends, even with admins -- my rep power was climbing thru the roof...... suddenly, I tried to submit (
while writing!) a post --
banned... for "LIFETIME."
LMAO -- what did I do? Reason given: "None."
To this day I don't know what I did wrong. I even studied their forum rules and as far as I understood I was not breaking ANY rules they had. I've written the forum admin and have
never received a reply. lol -- A Google search on my ID/handle will turn up the forum name I was banned off of.
It's kinda like "Oh well," for every forum you can get bounced off of, there's a dozen more out there and dozens more in formation. I've decided message boards on a related subject like cannabis are like one big bar where, although the names of the places change, it's still all alcohol they serve and pretty much the same clientele mindset. Doubtless there are
several hundred million pro-weed users who blow in and out of these places.
Best,
