Watering while gone for a week

Any visitors here change their tent temps like during the night, cool it down some? Went down to check on things and found the heater stayed on a long time or temp control failed cause temp had spiked to 90
Inside tent. Shut it off and cooled tent back to 70. Turned it back on and temp returned to 73. I unplugged it for the night. Somewhere on this site I read where someone changed temps between day & night. Thanks.

I have learned not to blow fan directly on plants. Dries soil too quickly. And I shut off fan overnight. .
The wind blows on plants grown outdoors and at night. It helps plants breath, makes them strong, and speeds up transpiration which is indicated by greater water usage. Plants grown outdoors put indoor plants to shame!

Usually temps dip at night- because it’s night, and/or the lights are off. It’s a good time to save a little power. Most people try to stay above 55 or so on the low end. Low temps bring out colours nicely. I’m pretty sure I remember reading that there are other benefits to cooler night temps as well- but I can’t remember what.

I'm at 45 degrees N and 3700 feet. In the height of summer, my temps routinely change 45 degrees or more every day without problem, and yes, I think the cool air really brings on color.

My tent only dropped like 5 degree overnight. Heater and fan are back on now
Two plants are doing great. The Amnesia
auto fem is lagging behind. Last two amnesia were small as well. Blueberry and critical auto I have not tried. I have only been at this since the fall.

Every thing set on a timer

Found a GE led programmable power strip on Amazon. World would die
without order from your chair Amazon. Three week Prime delivery. Now
THAT has changed. Have not decided on a pvc pipe system or flexible
tubing. Saw a small pump on EBay that pulls 6 gph. 3plants now. I want to
start another. Maybe June for trip nordth. Happy Easter everyone. Leave
the Peeps alone. But your dentist will love you for it. He owns stock.

GE strip timer arriveth today. Took three weeks. Tried the small pump and the splitter. Flow can be adjusted down to a trickle. The thing I want to use is poke holes in two spots on opposite sides of the plants. Watering on two sides. Better than just in one spot, correct? Thanks.

For a larger pot yes. Also- some mediums wick water better than others.

I’m in the middle of setting up a new watering system as well. Running 1/4” lines everywhere. Trying to puzzle out how to set the rooms up to run on their own for the next three weeks- 40 plants at different sizes and stages, and a super primitive setup. Argh! my brain may implode... :lot-o-toke:

40 OMG! No thanks. Got three guud size plants in tent now. One Critical that just broke thru the soil. A lot of growing to do to catch up to her big sisters. Good luck to you on your endeavor. My water is going to be in an 18 gallon tote, inside the tent. We shut the water off to the house when we leave for a week. That water will have the ph changed. Water from the pipes would not do. Keep reading and I’m sure you’ll find a system that will work for you.

Thanks! I am not stuck for research but more just for equipment amd under time pressure to go away now. I am going with the quarter inch lines I have, fittings I can find and make, and one small electric pump and hopefully two more, if they ever arrive in the mail. 100 gallons in flower and 50 in veg. Main problem is that these little pumps do not have enough pressure to supply so many lines, and so the individual line lengths and gravity come into play among other things. It’s more like arranging a very convoluted marble run or something. I’ll manage. Probably going to have to reduce the plant number by half.
Good luck to you too. Only three plants -I’m jealous!

It’s complicated by remote location and circumstances and the flu. I had two caretaker options but the flu scare has changed that, so this is the only option for now.
I may be able to find more powerful pumps locally in the form of 12v bilge pumps for boats- and buy a new car battery or two to run them from....
I’d really like to sort this out anyway -so I know I can go away when I want without a lot of trouble. So I’m taking it as a challenge, with some complaining ha ha.
