The nugs do not have to be own-grown
However the plant must be your own
It's good that everyone has an opinion; however, not everyone is in a position to grow their own and some dispesaries do have some fine looking nugs. Where is the problem with that?

If you can enter dispensary nugs into the comp & I live where it's illegal then can I plagiarise a picture or two off the internet & enter them? Fairs fair & all that.

since this is a grow journal ill make it quick and short..
it will be hard to create a process to tell which is dispensary or home grown nugs.. but i do believe it should be figured out. for instance, i have around 15-20 strains i can look at and decide to take a great picture of it in our shop and post it online. its not exactly fair since most growers themselves dont have the type of cameras that the majority of shops do.
hopefully they can figure this out, my pgsc that i just harvested would in no way take nug of the month, but i know some of the flowers on the counter behind me will

I don't see any fair answer. If entries have to say whether bought or grown, the community will decide with their votes. But the value of the prizes makes me think it will become a beauty contest of the best money can buy, once more people realize this.
I'd much rather see a Bud-of-the-Month Contest for buds just before harvest - alive and glistening! Those are the photos I love to see.
