I worked in a chicken farm when I was a kid to earn pocket money. It was for battery hens where they are cooped up in cages & lit for 24 hours so they produce eggs. They had rats there getting real big & fat off the chicken feed. They grew to the size of cats & weighed 17 pounds.

Straight up Trichomes, they scared the sh*t out of ya. We used to have to kill them, some of us had air rifles & others chased them & whacked them to death with shovels. I couldn't do it now but when I was a kid without much compassion I loved it.

I understand degrees F better than C but I had to use a converter to get the pounds weight so you guys would understand, it's 7kilo to me

YOUR HELP REQUESTED!! I snipped a low/older-growth bud from Fluxy Lady today, I see amber.

Is it a common practice to harvest this old-low-growth before the tops

are finished? (tops still growing new bud, bottom is done IMO)

I'm considering doing just that.

I've heard of & have actually harvested the top first but never the bottom. You have an unusual situation there.

You can say that again!!!! A native New-Englander moving out west instead of FL?!?!?


He's got the pride of the area though, and that's all that counts!!!!!


As for the question about the bud....... I should have left my last plant's bottom end to mature longer because it was this massive, baseball-sized bud-salad that I couldn't get to with the loupe, so I just assumed chop it the same!!! In retrospect, since I dried some and smoked it first, was to not do that again, ONLY because the trichs weren't fully developed, and I only had about 50% milky trichs.. I still got a sweet bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, but it was a little too, excitable, than a normal smoke.. I still enjoyed it, but I wasn't necessarily ready for the racing heart beat and the fuzzy vision.. With amber trichs, I'd love to think that you could harvest at least that portion..

as the plant grows up the tops are always getting fresher, while the bottom keeps getting older, no?

Not my experience. Flowers and preflowers appeared first at the top of the plant.

Although I'm new to growing, I have observed a few grows and noticed that the buds closest to the light were the most-tasty, or most developed... Take it with a grain of salt though, because you guys all have WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more experience doing this than I do!!! I am just the guy looking for the wisdom!!


Next year, if I'm around this area, we should have a j-rolling contest!! No grinders, no scissors, no crazy papers.. Just some EZ-widers or Zig-Zags, some good music and some homegrown to battle it out to!! You can use bed-sheets, but 1.25's would do just fine!!

Because of the fluxing and some stresses it makes sense that Fluxy's oldest buds could be lower. Not the usual situation of the top getting most of the light, especially outdoors. Also, some strains mature sequentially rather than all at once, and have to be harvested a few buds at a time.

So it should be fine.

You should go for it! If you feel like they're ready to go then chop away! Sometimes it's best to go on instinct, and not on common sense but the close-ups don't lie, I do see amber there. Would get more air-flow going and less space for those annoying moths to lay their eggs.

If you're an omnivore or just have a bit of a sadistic side, you should take any future moth eggs off, make a miniature pyre and begin to individually torch them in front of the plant to set some things straight.. Last time the spider-mites did that to me was essentially a spider-mite holocaust.. I bleached, scrubbed and even burned stuff that ever made contact with those little fuckers!!!!
