Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

Well, I think me and Ruth saw some snails with shells & some slugs in those pictures. Me and Ruth are going to burn them critters to hell and come back.

I got the Zippo Ruth, fill that bottle up and stick a rag in it and I'm throwin one of then Ole Malatov cocktails at em! Don't talk me out of it Ruth! It's National Security and BB's yard is under attack. He's one of then NATO Allies & if he declared war, we are a going to war!

I read some unfortunate news tonight, BB's place is all locked up, a post/note mentions a crisis has him (I assume w family).

He's a big help over here (not joking here) I left my share of sympathy in his yard,

maybe you guys could drop by BBs, just to let him know that we all are sending :green_heart: for him & his personal :circle-of-love:

Hope things work out OK, BB

Hey dude I took up on your invite glad I did that's a cool looking plant, iv similar looking lady thanks to my stupid dogs. I seen you had a few slugs iv found last year that the best way to combat the terrors is nematodes, there part of the micro world and love nothing more than a slimy buffet. you can make your own very easily by throwing a few slugs (whatever you can find the more you find the better) into a bucket of shallow water an inch or so should be enough, pop a firm cover and leave to ferment for 2 weeks or so, add any slug you find to the bucket. after a fortnight or so strain out the slugs and throw them keep the water, as it contains the little slug assassins, fill the bucket up and put it all into your watering can, water your lady no more slug problems, also no dead wildlife as its natural.

Here's the plan.

Large bucket containing 2 pints of beer.

Each night after work, will go out, latex gloves on hands.

Find and destroy!

I hope the damn things enjoy their last drink !

Well do a count after a week or two.

Ugh, nasty looking snails just having a field day on your baby. I'm sure you'll eradicate the problem. On a better note your Flux is A plus certified.

In order for the copper to continue to work, it needs to be cleaned periodically with vinegar or it will tarnish and no longer work.

WAIT a minute. Please site where you read that putting slugs to ferment in water will deliver beneficial nematodes to you. I really need to see who said this and under what conditions and how. I've seen some interesting things regarding plants on this website, but this one really does make my eyebrow go right up.

I did a search and found the same info that he shared. Slugs in a bucket with some water is a perfect breeding ground for nematodes, apparently.

That was a really cool share, Chaka! I had no idea! Thanks and welcome aboard! :welcome: :thanks:

it really does work, I did it last year after such success with my weed plant I used it to cover my whole garden work beautifully. iv got a batch fermenting as we speak ready for when I go outdoor growing.

The slugs must quake in their little puddles of slime when you walk out your front door! That is a really cool solution to a gross problem! :thumb: Environmentally friendly, unless you're a slug, and free. Outstanding! I will try it for the garden this year.

She'll be coming 'round the mountain when she comes, (when she comes).

She'll be ridin' six white horses when she comes........ Oh we'll all come out to meet her when she comes.......We will kill the old red rooster when she comes..........We will all have chicken and dumplings when she comes, etc.

Hi Trichomes :ciao:

Me & Ruth were just singin a ways on the ride over here. Just wanted to stop by and see how Miss Fluxy, Cybil and The Purp are doing. Everything is a lookin mighty quiet in your neck of the woods.

Alrighty, have some :yummy: and a mason jar. Found a stash of them jars & it's pretty good stuff. Me and Ruth are going to ride on over to Lester's gardens and see a whats going on over there!

Ruth is gonna let "Ole Festus" sing his solo on the way over to Lester's.:woohoo:

An old cowboy went ridin out one dark and windy day............. Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way........ When all at once a mighty herd of red-eyed cows he saw.......... Plowin through the ragid skies.......... and up a cloudy draw............

Yippie i ohhh ohh ohh..............Yippie i aye ye ye
Ghost riders in the sky

yeah they do!! :-) the only one down side, for my area at least is that you have to reapply every few month's, not to much effort for the trouble they save.

Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

Really. Please post the site you found which says with certainty, scientifically that a pail of dead slugs is going to make beneficial nematodes. The nematodes do kill slugs.

I want to see where you read slugs manufacture beneficial nematodes as they ferment in water, dead. Please. I must see this link.

Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

How to make your own slug killer:

"In any average garden some slugs will be carrying bacterial diseases or be infected by nematodes, but their low density means that they won’t devastate the rest of the population.
But, catch and confine the slugs and, if the disease or nematodes are present, you can concentrate these micro-predators and harness their natural slug-killing power.
Collect as many slugs as you can find in a jar that has a few small air holes punched in the lid with a hammer and nail – and a few weed leaves for them to eat. The best time to hunt for slugs is after dark. In the gloom, slugs become quite brazen and eat on top of leaves as opposed to holing up in cool, dark and damp places as by day.

If stumbling around with a torch is a bridge too far, look for slugs during the day in the drainage holes of pots, beneath stones and hunkered in long grass. If they evade your efforts, set traps. A classic that works brilliantly for hard-to-find small ground-dwelling slugs is to place the scooped out half-shells of grapefruits near the crowns of vulnerable plants.
Come dawn, the slugs make for the damp yellow domes, as they love to chew the pith inside. Slugs also make a beeline for cardboard. Lay a sheet on the ground among long grass. Check your traps daily and gather your slimy harvest into a jar.
Once you have caught around 10 to 20 slugs – the more you have the better it works – decant them into a bucket with an inch or so of water in the bottom for humidity and a few more handfuls of leaves to make an edible floating island for your catch.
With the slugs safely inside, place a concrete slab (or any firm cover) over the top to seal them in. The bucket is the perfect environment for the nematodes and bacteria to breed. Nematodes spread in water, so check regularly, giving the slugs a stir with a stick. The idea isn’t to drown them but to keep them moist so the nematodes can hunt them out".
