Nice! I've probably have more RDWC runs than anything else under my belt. Ran it for 10 years straight. Still have the 4 site system but it's in grave need of repairs.

RDWC systems are optimal with cold floors and in basements. Are you planning on running some root rot preventative measures with oxidizer or are you going the chiller and bacteria route?

You're better of keeping room temps slightly lower with water cultures. You don't need more than 24C / 75F in flower and it will help you keep the root zone and nutrient solution stable.

It's easy to keep a perpetual cycle with scrog nets. When you harvest you've already vegged for 2.5 months and you only need a week for the plant to settle in the new environment before you can start next cycle.

I've grown in small shower rooms before like you do and I know veg space is a problem. You can always take a clone in mid flower from the lowers and reverse it back before you start next cycle. They root and grow really fast in veg in hydro.
Thanks for the info I new you'd be the guy to speak to.. what's up with your system?
I currently have what looks like 16L buckets with net pots. The buckets have small hole at bottom (feed) large hole at top (drain). I was going to drain into a 25L Res and have the res chilled if you can picture that. Will buy a new air pump for the plant buckets. But other then that I was going to wing it lol maybe h202 with the feed. I was planning on having a mixing bucket for nutes so I could just top up Res but not sure that's how it works just guessing 🤣

I'm currently working on a mother/veg space it's almost ready 🤞 but that's why I run more plants to cut that time down but you save it with your veg space.
Thanks 🙏

Sounds like one of those "waterfall" bucket systems to me. Where you have the circulating pump being split and fall from the top to bottom in each bucket. Then you'll always have the same water level and you don't need any airstones. I think people call them "Fallponics" nowadays? You could use them to design a lot of different systems like flood and drain.

I have the exact same buckets that I got from a friend of mine but I always found the upper holes to be to high on the buckets to my liking. I like to have good space between the netpots and water level. I also like to use less aeration than most people do since from my experience one of the main cause for failure in DWC is root rot in the inner root core from to to much moisture and stagnant water. That one is impossible to spot and you'll only see it by splitting the stem.

That's why I like to keep a good distance between the water and the "root core" where the roots meets the stem to let air in and circulate. Stay away from any Rockwool or plugs in DWC, while people use them with great results they also cause people a lot of issues in DWC. The best is to run clones in straight stones/leca pellets/hydroton.

You almost get the feeling like you want to lay on top of it right? Lol!

Runoff reading in 2 hours, I missed the first cycle!

Cheers!

Raised the light to the final position and increased the output to 550w. In 3 days and I'll increase to full 650w.

Second runoff reading:
650ppm / 1.3 EC in, 1025ppm / 2.05 EC out.

pH 5.6 in, pH 6.4 out.

600ppm / 1.2 EC in, 1025ppm / 2.05 EC out.

pH 5.4 in, pH 6.3 out. Stable for now.

Need to clean up the lowers soon. It's a little bit of a mess down there, lol! I'll sort it in the upcoming days.

Cheers!

575ppm / 1.15 EC in, 900ppm / 1.8 EC out.

She's reacting positively to the increased light intensity with higher nutrient intake and lower runoff.

pH 5.3 in, pH 6.2 out.

Tent is getting full and she's happy! Alternating nodes and spears forming. Topping off the res with about 25L / 6.5 gallon today. I have to add and mix more or less every other day. I top off about half the volume (16 gallons) every time.

Reservoir just after top off, you can see the humic kelp solution fizzing and foaming. 605ppm / 1210 microsiemens, pH 5.38.

IMG_20230801_184624640.jpg

Pro-teKt potassium silicate ~8-10%

6.5 gallon mix. Started by adding Pro-Tekt. I make my own copy and add it to the jug.

About 6ml adds 75ppm Potassium Silicate and that's roughly 30ppm elemental Si. Then I add 75ppm of Calcium/Magnesium.
IMG_20230801_184944794.jpg

"Calimagic"

That gives me 150ppm / 0.3 EC. Then I add 0.9 EC of 2000ppm / 4.0 EC stock solution to 600ppm / 1.2 EC total.
IMG_20230801_185221570.jpg

Stock 2000ppm / 4.0 EC. New batch tonight!

Then I mix 4g of Humic/Kelp mix in the blender and add it to the mix.
IMG_20230801_185558418_HDR.jpg
Designated blender.

Last thing I add is 0.5ml of 5% bleach (Sodium hypochlorite) and pH down to ~5.3 with phosphoric acid. I buy concentrate and dilute my pH down to 10% strength.
IMG_20230801_185833939.jpg

pH concentrate and dilution to 10% on the right .

Really cozy in there! 26C / 79F and 73% RH.

Low stretch he said, we'll see about that! Increased light intensity to full 650w. Moved the sensor for the humidity controller to a more centered position. I forgot to take runoff reading 😂I'm tired today but I will take another reading in a couple of hours.

Canopy looks awesome bro just straight spears from the net up 👌

Thanks bud! She's a vigorous lady with a lot of side branching. She's what I call a classic "hash plant". Grows like an Afghani cross back in the day like Mazar, Northern Lights or G13. You can see the main top a little bit taller in the upper left corner but some of her side branches are just as big.

Second runoff reading:
600ppm / 1.2 EC in, 875ppm / 1.75 EC out.

pH 5.5 in, pH 6.3 out.

Increased uptake with hardly any runoff. She's eating well and react positively to the added light(650w total). She didn't skip a beat and I hope I don't have to climb up and raise the light the last few inches.

So easy to work with compared to Kali Mist. I probably have to increase feeding strength slightly in the upcoming days. I will monitor next runoff reading to see how she drifts.

Yeah I see the top hopefully she calms down 🤣 that Afghani was the foundation of most strains! It was crossed with everything I think for it's potency and structure amnesia haze is still very common we have some great mothers about over here but not by a shared group they have an amazing pheno!

Added another feeding. Feeding schedule is as follows:

16:00
19:00
22:00
01:00
04:00
10:00

Probably gonna have to add another cycle in mid flower. Crazy how much she's eating and drinking compared to Kali Mist.

Nice extension on the sides bro, I've always thought about side support as always feel robbed of space by negative pressure 🤣 I know if it was there though I'd still have buds climbing the walls!

I didn't know you night feed too.. are your numbers consistent though the night too?

They should be but I haven't really checked runoff during lights out. I only noticed she looked not wet enough on the surface of the pot and got slight hydrophobic at first watering indicating the coir has gone drier than optimal. If I don't feed during lights out she will be almost bone dry at the first feeding.

I've been struggling with not getting enough runoff so I added another feeding. Let's see how she reacts to it!

600ppm / 1.2 EC in, 1200ppm / 2.4 EC out.

Lowering input to 450ppm / 0.9 EC.

The extra feeding has starting to ramp up the runoff. Lowered feed volume slightly, I've had some problems with the pot tilting to the left from being heavy and filling over. Added some extra duct tape along the rim to help keeping the water in. She's smelling like floral soap!

pH 5.4 in, pH 6.3 out.
