..But lurking beneath the surface is a menace...

That has to be removed, before it kills any more stems.

Cut it off with a razorblade...
Orange dots on the surface, that grow like worms into the stem...

Turning the stem brown and woody.

If this kills her, so be it. I have the clones and can cut more if she degrades,

but at least the fungus is gone (I hope)

Good weed all :xmas:

I had a plant that looked like that...outdoors, but although the stem looked like that it went on to produce a nice chunk of ganja!

I figure they survive deer nibbling and she was shedding stems.

What did you do to treat yours?

Back then.......I didn't do anything........so, it was a mechanical injury and the fungus took advantage of thier misfortune? This is what I would do now, I would apply a fungicide, let em dry out, and wrap the stems with thread tape.....the little blue and white rolls. I use that stuff a lot on plant injuries.......it works great!

I found this in relation to spider mites and vaseline:
I read alot of posts and all to often I see the common methods of Insect prevention and eraditcation mentioned but not all too often do I see others speak of Vaseline Aka Petroleum Jelly .. I have been using it for years to trap Fungus Gnats and flies as well as the dreaded Spider mite and many other insects .. No I don't use this as my only method of integrated pest management and control, I use this as another line of defense , a second line so to say ..

Spider mites can be trapped in vaseline before progressing up a plant , This is done by simply aplying a liberal amount to the stems above there infestation , as well Vaseline can be applied to all cut stems of infested plants when harvested ,, Spider mites will climb upwards on drying plants and then onto your ceilings and can even spin a web and drop where they like,, Might want to prevent this and catch em in the sticky stuff , this is often where they reinfest the garden most times than not .. I even go to the extent of putting a little on the lines as well just in case ..

And this about Rats and garlic.
