Good weed sir. The bad pics of good plants are still a WIN. Now time for a little tastless Spam. You are free to fake chastise me if you wish... ;)

Ahem..:cough:
PLEASE VOTE IN THIS MONTHS CONTESTS!! THIS IS THE LAST DAY!!!
I've just completed my civil duties.

Very good Reg. :) Im gload to get that outta my system. I actually went to random current journals that Ive never commented on and spammed them too.
I had resisted all month because someone got pissed last month. But oh well. Its promoting 420 so they can kiss my azz :)

BTW, have you re-mounted the ballast yet? Also, are the heat issues any better sir?

Not yet, still no melting plastic and i think it felt somehow "cooler" today...

Temps stable at 90 F (I have a cooling plan)

Yeah I noticed.

I tried to read that thread the other evening again for the xth time.

It is rather long winded, but informative if you can focus for long enough.

I don't think it has to be so complicated. People used to just bury a dead fish and plant a seed :)

Think about what a plant would have available to it in soil and try to come at it from that angle.

Stones and sticks, organic matter containing dead leaves, plants and animals, droppings, etc.

Worms, Snails, insects, fungi and bacteria break this stuff down into it's molecular pieces

and the plant takes this in with water.

Chemical nutes try to supply the plant with what it needs when it needs it,

Organics is about supplying and feeding the microbiology,

so they feed the plants, in a symbiotic relationship.

It's all about love, at the end of the day :circle-of-love:

Or is it

There is a point in nature where ammonia, the by-product of decay,

is transformed into nitrate by Nitrosomas

and the nitrites are transformed into nitrates by Nitrobacter.

This is plant-food and signals the beginning of life after death in a constant cycle of rebirth.

In order for your plant to live, death must occur, thus balancing the universe.

:amen:

When aerobic bacteria eat, burp and thrive, the soil smells good.

Gardeners and farmers have always known this.

It smells good to us because it's healthy.

I went to the local Gardening shop and bought;

Bonemeal,

Sulfate of potash
(50% K),

epsom salts,

The Seaweed mix,

a weird wool fertilizer "ewenique 3"

perlite, vermiculite.

I used potting soil from the supermarket to mix with and I added some MEDI ONE from Green Planet.

I watered in the greenhouse with "Rootbuilder", a compost tea from G.P., to add good bacteria, etc.

Since the move, I have only watered/fed them 2X with water containing the crap from the fish filter squeezed out.

I have ever perpetuating mollies, about 70 or so in a tank, so I have to clean the filter every week.

I think the plants are getting a lot of N through the fish-water,

so today I went all Tap water and potassium on their asses along with the Massive bloom booster, also GP.

im going to be burying fish guts with one of mine and seeing how it works out in regular soil versus potting soil.. see if i cant get a more natural approach to it all. ill keep yall updated

Look up fish manure. That's even better, I think :)

Excellent work there

Hi Gravy :ciao: Thank you.

>>>leaf matter... and maybe even grass clippings

I know that leaf matter that has not fully decomposed in a compost pile can still be too 'hot' for a young seedling due to the breaking down of plant matter. However a fully decomposed compost pile should be just fine for cannabis;)

im going to try an even more ghetto grow.. being as i go fishing semi regularly i have an unending supply of fresh guts lol... thhat and i can save a little money by composting fish guts and leaf matter... and maybe even grass clippings

That should hide the smell of cannabis :laughtwo:

If you keep goldfish in a tank with edible plants, they eat the plants but do not fully digest it, they break it down into easily available nutrients which get caught in the filter and can be used immediately.

It's a free source of nitrifying bacteria and available phosphorus for your soil (Bonemeal takes months to be absorbed).

Phosphorus is good for seedlings and flowers :)

ok now i need 2 compost piles (one for grass and fish guts and one for leaves) and an active aquarium for nitrifying and nutrient rich fishy fecal matter...

Enjoy the neighbourhood cats enjoying your compost pile :laughtwo: (I recommend a super soaker)

Make sure the aquarium is fully "cycled" before applying the crap to your plants.

The ammonia has to be broken down into nitrates, so wait for the bacteria to establish themselves.

(it takes a week or 2 with the goldfish in the aquarium at the start)

:)

That's funny DD, I have a damn dog....lovely sumbitch.......it just hates cats, I don't mean it dislikes them immensely....it hates em, cats kittens whatever. We found a kitten that the mother had abandoned.....or I guess the sucker who brought it in the house thought it was abandoned.......anyhow, we just turned our back for a second and that damn dog had it and was chewin on it like a piece of rawhide! It's a shame, this dog is the sweetest thing around.....it just has no control when it comes to cats!

Sounds like my kinda dog, Mc :)

It knows that catz are evil, alien, mind-controlling avatars

Yeah rico, I hear ya, and that's ok til cindy loo hoo is carrying her birthday kitten home from the walmart..........that dogs eyes curl back into its skull and it turns into jeffry dommer.....LOL! It is really the coolest dog too......very calm and loving.....it would enjoy life in the mountain top valley where the sea meets the land on the coast of spain............this dog is smart too, it is protecting a 97 year old lady......and if it doesn't know you..........it's an alien lifeform from the pit of hell! If you were nearer I would much consider releasing custody of it to you....we love it but shit! It goes psyco on cats!
