Waikiki Queen - My 1st Indoor Grow Ever!

IMG_057942.JPG

Here is another angle. This is the worst plant. Anything to be worried about?

Subbed. Nice to see someone from NE on here. I grew up in eastern mass near the NH border. Plants are looking good. As for the discoloration it could be a number of different things... ph, nutrients, room temp, humidity, light height, are all things to look into. As long as the new growth is looking good don't over think it. If it starts to get worse then get concerned. Sometimes over thinking and over correcting can lead to more issues. Look for a plant abuse chart I have one listed at the bottom of my signature I refer to. There are a couple other links around here that could help as well. But all in all your plants look great

Hey Greensmurf, thanks for the suggestions. Yep, I'm on the 495 side just south of the NH boarder! Cool beans!

Here is a pic of a leaf I just pulled from the lower area of one plant. What really concerns me is the ends are crispy to the point they crumble to dust when rubbed between 2 fingers. I would say there was one of these types of leaves on each plant, some just not as bad. The one pictured is a worse case scanario and was towards the bottom the the foliage under some things, so... Some plants have more than one less damaged leaves than the one shown above. I just plucked them off. Anyone else have ideas. My humidity level is only in the high 30's since I started my grow and I have 3 fans going in the tent 2x4" tent. My LED is about 26" up. All the nutrients I need are in my super soil, according to my hydro place. No nutes needed, according to them. Wtf is going on? Or is this normal as I am being told, for a few leaves to die during veg here and there and not to worry???

Are they getting enough air flow? I've had a similar issue once and my leaves were sweating (for a lack of better words) visual water on the leaves. Temps were too high and then the next day those leaves turned yellow and few days later crispy. All I did then was adjust the light, moved my fan, made sure my room temp stayed at/under 85 and humidity around 45. It fixed my issue. I grow in hydro DWC now so I can't speak for soil grows. Some soils have everything you need in them while others may need some added nutrients throughout the grow. I was awful growing in soil, could never get the soil ph correct, I was also over and under watering. I was a mess in soil lol.

It is normal for some leaves to turn while in veg. Just keep an eye on new growth. If you look at a tree there may be a leaf or two that are yellow. Doesn't mean the tree isn't healthy. If it was all over the plant then there would be a bigger issue. I think you should be fine

There are a few things that come to my mind: temperature, PH. PH is the first thing that need to be in check nutrients come second. PH around 6.8-6.4 is pretty good in soil. Measure the water you water with and the water that runs off. Hope this helps otherwise she looks good. Happy growing! :Namaste:

It's one of the common mistakes. I would say probably double that but it all depends on so much. Many do great at 4 or 5 days but imho better to start slow or dry and work your way up to what your plants in your environment at that age in that size pot can handle. So yes wait until they start wilting or almost wilting. Pay close attention everyday to what the leaves look like. Color, veins, posture etc. After a few times you'll be able to see the signs of underwatering before the plant starts to wilt even. Maybe a day or two less than those early signs show will be your sweet spot. Personally I've always done better leaning towards the side of underwatering and under nutrients than pushing the limits. Also I see the top of your soil looks wet. I drench vs top watering so the soil on top stays dry or moist. Supposed to be better for bug control but for sure waters more evenly and pushes time between watering even further apart which I like. Give it a try at least once. Fill a bucket with your nutes and then put the plant in but only let it sink in to about 2/3 for a few minutes or so. Very thorough way to water.

Thanks for all the welcomed advice! Will do in terms of the watering. So sick of guessing if I flushed my soil and got the PH issues corrected in the soil the last time, last night I ran 5 gallons of PH water through the 4 plants. Tested the run off and it was perfect, 6.5. So now I feel way better and really think that was the issue, maybe even pockets of soil that was not flushed properly. We will see in the next week. So I did that at 11p last night and the lights are on and the plants look surprisingly perky and well this morning, 7AM! I will not water them till they wilt.

Question is, since I flushed them so thoroughly I am assuming I flushed all the nutrients out of the soil too?Would it be good to transplant them into fresh soil next week because of this. Remember, I am doing strictly a soil grow with MM super soil and no other additives. Thanks and happy growing everyone!

So should I keep them in the same pot and just repot them in fresh soil next week just when they dry out and are ready to water or just keep them as is?

You can re-pot them to fresh soil and even prune the roots some if you want. They can take it. Cheers! :Namaste:
