I don't use the humidity packs until the jars are sealed for the cure. I use burping to adjust the humidity in the jars. If the ambient RH is lower than 62%, burp them down over time (I burp for 2 weeks before closing them up for curing). If it's higher, you can either use rice balls (in my sig) or a small dehuey in a cardboard box to get the jars down.7-10 days of that, then trim off leaves to the buds, jar 1.5oz in each with 62% humidi-packs and burp three times a day for 2 weeks.
If you jar them too high they will mold before the humidity packs will take the RH down. RH packs are designed for long term storage, not to quickly lower the humidity to prevent mold.
