Congrats on getting all that done brother! What a job done well!

Tell me about the Grove bag experience please? Are you in 5 gallon Groves? What's the rh range for sealing them up? Do they really need no attention after sealing? Is a bag able to be used forever(several years of harvests) or is it lined with a coating of something like what a boveda is made of?

Good morning Stone :ciao:
Congrats on getting all that done brother! What a job done well!
Thanks Amigo :thanks:
Tell me about the Grove bag experience please?
Its a 100% pleasurable experience.
No washing and burping mason jars.
I used to spend so much time on those jars every day, burp flip, burp flip for weeks.
Now just bag them and go.
Are you in 5 gallon Groves?
Im using 5 pound and 1 pound Grove bags.
What's the rh range for sealing them up?
I hang the buds until they are around 65 rh then straight into bags.
They seem to hover in the low 60's for a few months after that.
The Apple Betty i removed from last years bag was at 59% .
It had been in that bag 12 months and was still perfect rh.
Do they really need no attention after sealing?
First couple days I open and check rh on the 5 pound bags.
It's a lot of bud and moisture so I open the bags to vent any access moisture and double check rh.
It might spike a touch at first I find on the huge bags on that volume of bud.
After that just leave them in a cool dark spot and everything self regulates.
Is a bag able to be used forever(several years of harvests) or is it lined with a coating of something like what a boveda is made of?
They are 100% reusable.
As long as you don't physically damage the bag it lasts for years.
Just be gentle with the ziplock seal.
I squeeze it between my palms and slide in opposite directions to open them.
Reduces strain on the grooves.

They are economical light weight and don't shatter like glass.
Last for years and work great, freeken Awesome :thumb:
In my opinion one of the best improvements in curing for a long long time.
And they are a sponsor.
I believe they call that a Win Win.:cheer:
Are you using jars for yours?

I got on the Grove Bag bandwagon too. But my harvest didn't require 5lb bags. Those are for legendary growers only. I can imagine bringing one of those out for a session with friends. "Here, let me grab my head stash". Everyone's jaw drops..

I have a few cases of Mason jars now I'm not using.
Still have some full from last year aswell.
I'll keep a few but I'm never going back.
Grove Bags are definitely the cats tucas.:thumb:
I'll put the old jars in the attic with my 1000w HPS/MH and my Blurple lights.
I'll call it the museum. 🤣😂

I didn't realize they were a sponsor. How would one go about getting a 420 Magazine discount when ordering them?

I order directly from Grove Bags Canada.
5 pound bag is $18.00 ,cheap!
But if you order through the magazine by clicking their website you should get the 420 discount.

Those bags do impress don’t they? I’ll never go back to glass again and found a way to get rid of them. I give them away to friends with some of my finest bud. CL🍀

Wow incredible haul! And what’s funny to me is your leftover plant after harvest is bigger than some people’s plant before harvest! Not saying a small plant is no good, I love all plants. But wow. 🤩
Hey Wayne :ciao:
I think I missed this message.
My apologies.
There is a ton of bud left over.
I’ve harvested a few pounds and don’t need to get it all.
Smalls aren’t worth it unfortunately.
I have more than I know what to with.
Hope you’re having a great weekend my friend.
Thanks for the kind words. :thanks:

Bill we are all busy with things, no offense taken! I’m just enjoying the show and trying to learn a thing or two along the way. You do a spectacular job with your grows.

Quick Pictorial of how I make Salve.

I’m using frozen larf from my last Harvest.
I’m Decarbing it first.

I put it in metal pans and steam heat it in the oven.

Cover it with tinfoil and bake for 50 minutes at 250f to decarb it ,if you defrost the trim first.
Frozen might take longer.

You should see steam pouring out of it to make sure it is decarbed.

I’m using a full container of Costco Coconut Oil. ( 2.48 L )
I melt it in the crockpot with a cup of water.

I’m using a fine mesh wine making bag to keep the cannabis in.
It separates the larf from the oil easily.
Once the oil melts I put it over the crockpot.

Digital thermometer to monitor temperature.
I like it just below 190 F

Mesh bag goes over the crockpot before adding all the decarbed trim.

Now I have all the decarbed trim in the bag - in the coconut oil.
I set it to 190 f.
I’m going to slow cook this for 24 hours.

After 24 hours on low. ( 160-190 f)
Here it is.

Now simply remove the wine bag.
I moved it to the side and rolled it up to get the oil out.

Transfer your cannabis infused coconut oil into containers.
Put the containers in the fridge for 24 hours.
The water and any debris will fall to the bottom.
The coconut oil will harden on the top.

I take the larf out and rinse the wine bag clean.
Put larf into plastic bag and dispose of it.
No mess or anything left in the oil.
Easy and clean method to make oil.

Once this hardens I’ll explain how to make it into a nice smelling smooth product.
Thanks for reading.
Part 2 to follow.

Thanks Bill! More to smooth it out? Cool!
Morning Stone :ciao:

I used to add Shea butter an a couple other things.
For simplicity now some beeswax and mint and its good to go.
Nice and hard this morning, the salve I mean ;)
I'll post pics of it soon.
Coffee first. :thumb:
