Virgin Ground And The Little Star Asterion

Congrats on the flip!
Forgot to add the Purpinator last watering. Oopsie.
Oh well. I guess your buds will be boring again. ;)
They are still in the two gallon pots. I don't think there will be problems since they are in GeoPots. I may have to water more. We'll see.
I think they'll be fine, but I did have a plant get rootbound when I tried to grow one of my 7 gallon plants in a 5 gallon pot. It showed deficiencies mid-flower that the 7 gallon one did not.
I've earned a day of debauchery in the sun
Damn straight you have. Hope it was a good one!

fantastic growing vg. hope the rest of your world goes as well as the plants do.
If only.
Things are going ok. Lots of stress lately. Family stuff.

I had a small setback with my GDP but I'm not overly concerned. Gave her some cal-mag. Nachos still look great.

Hope you're doing well. We haven't talked in a bit.

Congrats on the flip!
Thanks. Helps to keep the house cooler during peak hours as well. Win-win!

I always get deficiencies mid-flower it would seem.
They aren't very big plants so I'm hoping for the best.

It was for a little bit.

Then my young daughter became a biological "woman" if you catch my drift....
She's overly proud and shameless, thus making everyone around her uncomfortable.
Help.Me.

Anyway...back to the plants.

The GDP started getting some light leaves and spots on her top fans yesterday. I gave some cal-mag and dropped the light off just a tad this morning. SOP for any problem that comes up. I always lower the lights a tad for recovery. It seems to help but that's anecdotal at best.
She was due for a topdressing so she may just be a heavy feeding indica like Buttercup mentioned.
I need to hop back on the GeoFlora thread and review their recommendations for heavy feeders.
They didn't want me to feed before two week mark but I feel that I have to. Am I now supposed to be adding more product or just shortening the time between doses further?
I have a feeling that they aren't going to agree with me.
I'm trying my best to stay ahead of any issues but the nature of the nute line makes that a tricky endeavor.

GDP at day #148 since sprout and day #49 since flip.

The B'Naches at day #77 since sprout and day #6 since flip to 11/13.

Time to smoke a fatty. :blunt:
I should have a nice update for my WSE/Atreum journal later this evening.

Take care y'all. Thanks for checking out the chickies once again.

Welcome to page #420!!!

Did I mention that I culled most of my clones and mothers yesterday?

I only kept the two GG4s. Cut the Kalashnikov, Sexxpot and male GDP.

I need to make room for the next seed drop. I need to restock my med jars before I can run any more journals.

I have no idea if WSE wants to keep me running or not. If they do I'm thinking of doing a run of autos.
They have four or five new strains that I've been looking at. Two of them are autos.
Tangerine Dream sounds.....dreamy.

You do pretty well by WSE, so why not! Never hurts to ask.

Make sure you don't miss today's update a few posts above.
Thank you! I started it on my phone this morning and completely forgot to finish reading it.

Win-win for sure with the heat you get blowing through there. Only so many times you can take to your bed with the vapors!

I'm sure they will do just fine, until they show some discoloration on the leaves that you will promptly solve and be wonderful again. :high-five:

Congratulations. :) Proud and shameless is so much better than the alternative...cultivate that!

Yes, yes, yes, and yes! I want to post a pic of my Tin Can Kush with all the dead leaves at the bottom to ask why, but I don't feel like I'll get an answer I'm satisfied with. So I switched the plant over to my regular nutes that are working so well on the Red Dragon.

I have enough GF to keep trying, but if I have to start adding cal-mag or epsom salt or whatever I might as well be mixing nutes for the extra 2 minutes it takes once you move from water-only.
The B'Naches...
...are getting their stretch on. Looking good in there!

Good morning VG!
The only problem I keep seeing with the GF is the response time it takes for the plant to react to changes. Once the deficiencies appear it seems too late and there is not enough oomph in the product to correct it. Personally, I think growers like nutes that are more responsive in displaying what effects have been made from feeding to feeding. The GF line is a tough one on it's own to make corrections... imho.

Have a great weekend! :hugs:

Can't blame you for switching.
You have to do what's best for you and your garden.
We are dealing with some expensive ass plants here.

It's been really difficult to keep them on track and I'm seeing that I'm losing a bit of ground with my GDP and Skywalker Og. Both have some spots on upper fans but it's nothing horrid yet.
Gave them some cal-mag and turned down the lights a tad. Hope that helps for a few days until the Geo is available to them. The smell is another matter all together. Probably not noticeable outside but indoors it's another matter.

Think I may move on to the Blue Planet three part,Remo seven part or the Prescription Blend six part next. I have all of these nutes. I should probably use some up.

Oof... not looking forward to switching again. Not one little bit.

Hi, VG!
GDP is looking grand, and the BBxNachos look damn good- a beautiful shade of green...
I'm trying my best to stay ahead of any issues but the nature of the nute line makes that a tricky endeavor.
It does- like Mr.S. said, they're sooo slow to react (or not) with GF- I've been giving my autos their GF every 12 days, and adding 6-8 grams more every feeding- they seem to like it so far, but they've only been fed twice...they're both pretty small, but that's not GF's fault...damn autos!

I've got all that stuff also, but I look at those feeding charts and feel like "oh, hell no!"....
But, actually, as much mixing/adding/tweaking as I'm having to do to make the GF work to my liking, I might as well try out some of the others- the only difference now is that I make up the feeding chart as I go along...

I'm now feeding my late flowering plants every eight days and using slightly more than they are asking for. Just an extra tablespoon or two. I'm holding off the deficiencies as much as I can but I'm still getting some yellowing leaves and small spots.
The GDP doesn't appear to be getting worse and if she is it's happening really slowly.
This has been a real trial with this nute line. As much as I'd like to be 100% behind the company,I know that in my garden it won't work without some tweaking. Trying to use it as directed isn't compatible with my garden for some reason.
I have been wondering what type of strain and equipment that they tested their nute line with? We know that folks are still using cmh,hps etc and a few years ago even more folks were.
Or did they use high powered LEDs?
Did they use a plant that didn't necessarily have heavy feeding habits?
How many years was this product tested?
Many of the same questions come into play with various other nute lines as well (looking at you MC).
It may work perfectly outdoors or with a pretty heavily amended soil but trying to use straight ProMix or a lighter soil and you're gonna have to put the extra work into keeping them on track.
I have to be honest. This is a medical community and some folks don't have the luxury of experimenting with nutes as they are trying to make medicine for various afflictions, some of them being life threatening. I am happy to do this for them so I feel an obligation to report my findings in an honest and respectful light.

I'll include a few pics of the GDP from this morning as well as the Nachos...just because.

GDP at day #156 since sprout and day #57 since flip. Looks to have a week or two left.

Nachos are on MC. They are at day#85 since sprout and day#14 since flip. They are staring to get pistils.

B'Naches...

Thank you fellas!

I realized this morning that I have to start my next grow.
I only have a few weeks left before the harvest of the GDP and the WSE chickies is on the table.

Those little devil's sure are dark. Wonder what kind they could possibly be??

Damn, I'm nervous.

One of the devilish seeds cracked yesterday and had a 1/4" tap ,so I planted her this morning. Straight Pro Mix all-purpose in one gallon plastic pots.
The other one...nothing yet.
Sure hope that the other one cracks for me. I would like to do two of them in 5 gallon GeoPots. Fill out the entire 2x4 if possible with just two plants. Being DDAs we just have to wait and see. They could very well be my first SPOGs.

I am currently smoking the last of my DDA from last summers harvest.
Dang it tastes good after a 12 month cure.

Only the one so far.
Still deciding on which nutes I want to run.
I have some old Fox Farms..lol. Some Blue Planet, Prescription Blend,Remo and the newest version of the nute that shall remain nameless (NTSRN).
Think I'll pass on the GF for these autos. Too much uncertainty.
I feel like I did my level best to use it and bring forth some decent plants.
Not sure that it's my style of growing though.
I do enjoy my salt based nutes. Just a faster turn around for fixing issues.
Something that would be better for an autoflower.
I'm already going to be nervous about these plants as is.

I will say that my storage method of keeping them in a cooler in the fridge seems to be working well. These both cracked within 30 hrs of soaking.
They are at least eight years old. Possibly a tad older.

Wonder if I'll get more mutants? Not that it's necessarily a bad thing.
My grow with the two DDAs last year I had two seeds, two mutants.

Thinking about reversing if they look worthwhile. Just a branch or two.

Fingers crossed that the other comes up soon. I really planned for two and only have one extra seed.
If the second one fails to sprout I may run a different auto and grab a few more of the DDA that Buttercup has set aside for me.... try again later on.

I do have a bunch of new autos.

:cheer:

Must be pretty old by now. Some of your pretty garden flowers might like it!

Good thinking. Lots of luck timing the two week transition to Bloom. :)

Eight years? Well done!

Maybe the eight years has something to do with it. :hmmmm:

That's Buttercup's approach...works well for him!

He's a good supplier, that's for sure. :)

Noice! Updating your seed list soon?

Seems like a great way to use it up.

Sounds like a headache waiting to happen.

Eight years? Well done!
I've only had them for around two of those years. They switched hands a few times prior to me getting them.
Think I'm the fourth 420 member to hold them?

Maybe the eight years has something to do with it. :hmmmm:
Possibly. I'm fine as long as I get a half decent return.
The last ones started out ugly as sin but finished beautifully.
Noice! Updating your seed list soon?
Lolol. I'm working on it in my spare time. I have two lists that I have to combine yet.
