Virgin Ground And The Little Star Asterion

addition of Manganese to the glass that produced the light purple jars.

Interesting what a little bit of chemistry can do to our perception of light bending through a piece of glass... :smokin2:

I don't have anything that cool. Just a Japanese Petri from the 50s. Nothing special to most. My dad purchased it new when he was in the Navy. He was stationed in Japan for a short time.

Well that is a very cool story VG, a thing with that provenience would sell like butter melts in sun here in Europe!

Snowflake... :)

I have a few friends that blow glass. It was fascinating to watch. I came very close to apprenticeship.

Just headed to bed..after a toke.:rollit: Hope you have a beautiful morning.

Good morning V, Happy day!
Sorry I missed ya. I've been catching up on chores and trying out some really old recipes.
There is a good easy biscuit recipe in my junk drawer called Butter Swims. I adapted it for Bisquick but have the original recipe as well.

I plum forgot to post pics of my forbidden fruit earlier.

JSM's main took off two days ago.
I'm all of a sudden concerned at just how fast she's growing. Easily 2" a day.

JSP is gonna have some nice sized buds.:yummy: She is lanky but every bud is fully exposed to the light.

I need to start planning the next plants.
I'm starting a new Charlotte this weekend. After her I'll be free once again to do as I please.

There are a few regs that I'd like to try.
There is a NLxHarlequin and a GG4xDTF.
I need to start reversing plants in the coming year. I have a bunch of single seeds that I'm not touching until I have STS.
Really want to grow the Frisian Duck.

We'd call that "translucent" in English. Transparent means clear, translucent is cloudy but lets some light through, and opaque is light-proof.

Know I heard that word before! But thx, buuuut this filament is actually marketed as Transparent. LoL So this is probably a case of misleading marketing....

Remember when I was a child, we made trips to classic vacation stops here in Sweden. Among many the old Kosta Boda founded 1742. Remember watching the men and woman working there handling the glass, they made it look easy.

But I guess life took you on a different path away from the glass furnace? Hope you got a good night sleep VG.

Did it with a knife the other day. Good thing I was wearing my house shoes.
Steel-toed house shoes. Excellent idea.

:zzzzz:

Classic Swedish clogs with steel toe, marketed for 180€!!!, INSANE!

Other news in CraZy's World is the laser engraver arrived, with lots of things put together in the wrong way as usual with my China orders..... lol But it works now, will give an update in the fOg later. :)

Yeah. But just look what those clogs did to that poor lady's legs. She looks like a mannequin that has come apart.
That stance is not a natural one!!
180€ is insane for injury onset scoliosis!
Those Kosta Boda contrast bowls are so gorgeous imo.

Looking great VG!

Packing on weight. Not you, your plants. :)
Well, the holiday season isn't over yet. I always gain 5lbs in the winter. :laughtwo:
I'm hibernating.

JSP is gonna bring it. Next one I do I'll top or train differently. She's a stretchy wench.

Keeps you warm! Your plant babies on the other hand..
It's 72° right now. That isn't bad but it has gotten down to 68° and that is too cold for the bebes imo.
Since they are in cloth pots the cooling from wicking is even more concerning. I bet it's below 65°.

Ac infinity makes heat mats.
Who knew?
Doesn't look like they have one with a controller yet. Theirs says that it doesn't need one. It says that it features an innovative far-infrared film that warms up faster, and distributes soft heat more evenly.

What brands do y'all have?

Cheap off Amazon and a Vivosun controller.

It's not about faster/evenly, it's about the fact that heat mats on their own are usually set to 20º over ambient. Way too hot for seedlings.

I bought a Seedfactor one with controller after reading some reviews. Cheap and seems to work.

I'll be looking at them again this evening and I'll keep that one in mind. Thanks for the recommendation.
