Virgin Ground And The Little Star Asterion

Your pet project looks like she is doing great after what you just put her through so a little more magnesium wouldn't hurt her as Penny said.

Beautiful nugg pic with that perfect backdrop of a perfectly sun dried wood, love putting boards like that through a sander or a mill to get that lovely coloring of white wood in contrast with a dark oil over it.

So you are narrowing down that tall list with strains to just two strains? I thought you were stocking up with seeds now during pandemic state, some hoard water and toilet paper... Vg restocks cannabis seeds. :)

I bumped up her feed last night. It will be a few days before I can tell if it was enough. She looks a bit more yellow today. I expect some kicking and screaming. I did crop the hell out of her and change her lighting and temps.
I would be pissed too.

I agree on the wood. It is beautiful.
I have an attraction to wood and stone.
I have recently taken up wood carving again. I don't have a lot of free time on my hands so projects are drawn out.
It is fun to tinker around once a week though.

I actually may be getting some new genetics soon that I'm very, very excited about. Won't be able to run them for a few months. Gotta get my GZ and ATF flowered out first. Gotta get them ready Asap. Green those girls up!

don't worry, i usually take more time. :)

i soak for anywhere from 12 - 24 hrs then paper towel method after. most are barely cracked when they hit the towel, if that.

My ATF soaked for 50 hrs before she cracked.
If 50 hrs comes and goes, then I'll worry. Lol.

Hey VG,

I’m jumping back over to your journal. WTF- it’s kinda crazy over there... I am so thrilled you are well and you deserve any down time you can steal away. I know it must be strange with kids, school closures and COVID19.

Stone and wood huh? I think we went to different schools together! Have to show you my faves.

So you’ve got some new genetics... really I hate you! No, truly just kidding but I am waiting with bated breath to hear what’s new for VG’s Vault or her germination shelf. I’m looking at the resources you shared and really appreciate your recommendations! I’m more comfortable with photos but will try more autos again too.

What’s your best sativa auto flower strains??
I’m looking for good THC % and good yields - time to harvest is not that important to me.

What’s your best sativa photoperiod strains?
Same - good THC % & good yields

Pics are in the mail

LoL, yeah who wouldn't... I'm pissed off if anyone or anything changes my routine or plan for the day. She will pull through, she got the best of all mothers to take care of her.

Also got a fascination to stone and minerals, specially the golden one... hard to come by here though in any spot able amount, but I do like to build the contraptions that catch it... LoL

I need a dosage of tinkering at least once a day, now I added plastics to my repertoire with the 3d printer and it sure is fun to use. Made some tools for woodworking and now I'm building an adjustable table for my router, need to get that Xmas present for mom finished. :laughtwo:

Time is always in shortage here as well, too many plans and projects in the air at once...

Sour Diesel was my second choice! I've only grown 1 RQS strain before and it was their Auto Amnesia I got as a freebie. It was pretty good. I've heard a lot of good things about them but never really took the plunge myself. Good luck!

Hope you're well and staying out of trouble

The seeds I'm hoping to get are.....um...'special'. I hope they live up to the hype. Could be a titillating journal.
Y'all will have to wait a bit for the announcement though.

I wish that I could tell you may fave Sativas. I'm only now getting into them. My Ammy is the first real one that I've grown. I have ATF in my flower tent .
She smells amazing even in veg.

I know @Amy Gardner and @Heavenly Hybrid love sativas and have actual experience with them. They should pop in with some good suggestions for you.

Going to give all the plants a mag foliar. The GZ mom is looking yellow too. She was put under a stronger light as well.

I'm thinking of culling her. Not sure yet
Feel like she's just taking up space.
I could have a much smaller mom that doesn't need to be in a tent.

3-D printer sounds like a lot of fun.
I could see myself playing with one of those for endless hours.

Was reading on the Sour D after Beez scared me with that monster. Gonna have to keep an eye on that one or she will get away on me. Critical doesn't get very tall so no worries there.

I'm trying to stay out of trouble but I sort of attract it wherever I go. Luckily I haven't been going anywhere lately.
Just been chilling and doing work around here. Right now we are remodeling my daughters bedroom. Shes too old for pink kitty cats anymore...or so she tells me.

:ciao: NOt as much experience growing them as I’d like!! In fact I am still to two a pure sativa. And get to smoke it. I grew 2 over summer that were gearing up to be superb before ... :rip:

Mostly I have only grown sativa hybrids so far (got my first pure sativa seedling now!)

Auto-wise, Amnesia Haze Auto from Dope Seeds was great - not a huge yielder for me but very big for some others, Agemon and P9 if I remember rightly. A lovely looking plant to grow.

I also grew a MiG-29 from Auto Seeds that was great. They are

I grow DDA for it’s sativa-leaning qualities.

Autos I’m not so versed in and they vary a lot in terms of yield potential. I have the ones i have because I have won them, mostly :Namaste:

Photoperiod-wise, it depends what you mean by sativa, because there are pure Sativas and then there are the Very common 70-90% Sativas hybrids. It’s Not so common to find a pure sativa that doesnt have very long flowering times so most of the commmercial ones you see are hybridised to some extent - i.e., they been ‘worked’ over time with some indica genetics to reduce flower times and increase yeilds. That said, they are still very sativa dominant. ANd this is all speaking very generally of course.

If you’re interested in pure sativas, Ace Seeds are one of your best Options.

SO not very helpful so far :laughtwo:

I’m actually struggling to get sativa genetics into my garden! Medical needs for CBD and pain relieving indicas are taking all the space ;)

I can tell you what’s on my list that I am busting to grow... Jack Herer (Seedsman), Carnival (Ministry of Cannabis) and Durban Poison (Dutch Passion). All of those are slightly hybridised ones I‘m reply sure. I am giving some seeds to a friend getting started growing who loves sativa (or so they think based on what street weed they believe to have had) and I’m goinG to give her one of these, so we can barter once she is done!

Choosing what to grow is always kinda nebulous and I tend to follow both my instinctive desires and my medical needs to equal amounts. The Panama I have going I chose because I fell in love with it’s visual appearance in others’ grows and then I read about it and found it is naturally high in CBG. It then took me 2 years to fit it in to the grow at an appropriate time!

That was a very long answer... sorry @013 ... tired and rambling. Short and simple answer is: autos, not much idea really; photos - nothing I’ve grown yet but I’d probably recommend Jack Herer as a good sativa to start with :)

Seemed helpful to me.
Thank you Amy!

I was just going to suggest some of the more popular strains. Jack was one.

Heard good things about Golden Tiger, Silver Haze, Green crack..... Thai landraces can be tricky. Some have a genetic predisposition to herm. They can be very strong though. World of seeds had a Wild Thailand strain. 100% landrace if I'm recalling that correctly.

Wow thanks for that reply Amy!

I’m sitting on a bunch of jarred indica with more on the way but have not ran much in the way of sativas. I like the control of photoperiods and the peculiarities of autos make it more difficult for me to grow successfully. I will overcome my preferences and learn to grow autos, hybrids and sativas. Oh yes who doesn’t love a good yielder? But I kinda perceived sativas to yield less than indicas. I’m ok with longer run times of a pure sativa but wouldn’t mind running some hybrids or faster auto sativas to double down on getting sativa meds in the jar.

End goal is to migrate to EVOO or RSO. I also plan to run Candida and Hidrow (spelling?) for CBD. Ultimately I want to blend oils and reduce my daily combustion intake. Don’t get me wrong - I love to smoke there’s nothing better or faster... but at times I need to be active and busy while also not smelling like a hemp furnace. My hope is to get my base meds from blended oils then fine tune with a puff or two dozen depending on daily schedule.

Plus I’m hoping to tack some rso to address long term health problems. The tacking protocol is based on work by CajunCelt and 420Motoco in one of the medical threads here and involves sticking a grain of rice sized piece of rso onto the dimples above your gum line and has been successful in treating a lot of chronic and long term health problems. The problems are rso requires a steady supply of bud to cook down and finding balance with blending oils i.e. being medicated, coherent and active versus a zombie with acute couch lock.

It’s cool other members of this community are doing similar projects and we can build on each other’s ideas and expertise. I love your knowledge and the Green Flower Media studies you have undertaken, I’m hoping to do the same during our winter months.

Thanks Amy for your thoughtful reply... this information will not be wasted!

Golden Tiger is a good one and should be fairly easy to work with.
Should have thought to tag you.
You're like an encyclopedia when it comes to strains.
