Virgin Ground And The Little Star Asterion

Photos tomorrow. Supposed to trim tonight. Just feeling run down and tired. Kids are in school so they bring every sickness possible home with them. Maybe I will just call it a night and get up early and trim before they get up. Lazy bones that they are, they sleep in until 10-11 on weekends.

Will check that band out for sure. Toad the wet sprocket for me tonight. Listened to them in high school. They were some of the lighter stuff I listened to. I usually listened to white zombie, ministry, NIN,Alice in chains.

It took 2 1/2 hrs to trim the other two. All done:yahoo:!!!!

Gonna dry and jar them and then on to the clones.

I think I am going to wait until black Friday to get seeds. I was going to order some tonight. I think it would be best to wait though. I'm guessing that some of these seed banks have pretty good black Friday sales. Or is black Friday only an American thing?I have my clones and the lemon seeds to play with until then.

I'm glad I've got that done. I thought maybe the plants were effecting me. Giving me a scratchy throat. Nope... kids got me sick. So now I get to enjoy that.

All is in the tent drying. I hope I don't screw up the most important part. Took about 6 hrs to process 3 plants, all by myself.

I think I am going to cut the clones back a bit. I dunno. We'll see.

I hope 60% rh isn't too high for drying. We had a lot of rain here lately.

My buds are very.....spikey, fluffy. Do they tighten up after curing?
They work fine. Maybe I harvested too early? Perhaps it was the lack of light in early flower? I may have underwatered?

I am happy to have something to show for all of my work. Quality, I assume, will come with time.

You can dry buds at 60rh, just takes longer. Where are they at right now?

First few drys I under dried quite a bit. Burping took weeks.

Most homegrown bud is going to look a little different than commercially trimmed bud. You might not have your trimming down...I personally think it's my weakest link....

You can always take more off later. But I would go forward with what you have done first.

Well done with the mum, chop juggle!. Look forward to seeing your bounty VG. I had a plant just come out really airy etc. Mine was down to temps and light intensity. It was an auto and it stretced stupid quick on me so was just getting torched. She also had trichomes burnt off her a bit though. Your buds on the other hand look beautiful and ripe Im sure they will be lovely and dense. But yes they do firm up and get denser as they dry but they also get a lot smaller.
And yes Quality comes with a good dry and cure. Good product is a must of course but you got that well covered.

You are probably right on the manicure.I gave them a rough trim. So that probably explains it a bit. They do have a bit of density to them. Not totally airy.

They are drying in my tent. Lights out 75f and 64% rh.

FWIW, I really like the pointy tips of the fiskers everyone uses, but to get those damn sugar leaves at the top that are just too big to pick, I like those japanese curved blade jobs. Might as well just leave those leaves anyway.

What subjectively looks like a nice bud?

Note that I posted in my journal....it looks weird looking at all this cut not dry herb....it does look weird during drying and curing....

Another thing when you start growing...buying from a dealer who has one grower who clones the same strains and cuts them at pretty much the same intervals....well, it's like eating at mcdonalds. You know what strain x looks and tastes like, at least in the ballpark, when you pick it up. - literally, your quarter pounder is always going to be the same.

Now, as a small time grower, trying to get the most out of their plant(s)-grows are going to be different...one strain may give you light airy buds, another from a different breeder may give you density. Smells may be stronger. I personally enjoy individual grown smoke much moreso than bought smoke...it has personality to it.

So, embrace the variety and the variance. Your off McDonalds now.

It took 6 days to dry the purple plant. It was harvested a day before the rest.
Got her jarred up.
Filled a quart jar 4/5ths of the way.To

Should be another day or 2 for the others. They seemed a little denser.
