wish i could help. have converted or helped to convert a lot of closets over the years. one of the neatest was a two-tier set up, with a 24/0 schedule for baby clones in the bottom, and early vegging clones on 18/6 on the top side.

it was built completely light tight between the two. we had light traps set up for ventilation between the two tiers, and to exhaust and bring in air.

there was a large diy tent occupying most of the room for flower. both veg/clone space and the flower room exhausted in to the main room. the main room air was scrubbed and exhausted outdoor.

Awesome!! We played card games and Monopoly, Clue, Othello etc.
20 questions and charades are always the family faves.
My kids are terrible at charades which brings the entertainment factor through the roof!

how much liberty do you have to modify the space / house ? and where is your flower room ? ... i am assuming this closet is your veg / clone space and is attached to your bed room ...

Yes. For clones etc.
I can modify all I want. I own this place. My flower tent is in the same room in a different closet.

so, if you have no option but to run the clone area attached to the bedroom i would consider this :

you are both pulling and exhausting in to / from an inside living space. there are no issues with this in my climate.

but if humidity / heat is a problem - condition the air in the main room, not the closet.
you will be more comfy in the room itself as far as a living space, it is insanely better for most hvac units, it will actually be easier to control the environment in the closet, and you get more growing room. ...

Main AC is in the window of my room. I control the main room temps and summer humidity this way. It spikes if it rains for more than a few days but that is rare.
I can get some in tent dehumidi if I need to down the road.

I have to have my grow in my bedroom. No choice on that.This closet will give me more room to store my supplies so my bedroom will be a lot less cluttered. I'm getting rid of my loveseat for a swivel chair. That will help immensely for access and extra space.

i was a flooring installer. my knees couldn't take it after a bit. i saved them for snowboarding instead. will have issues with them for life now. the snowboarding was worth it....

My roommate had 2 ferrets. Run of the house types. Usually pretty well behaved for ferrets. They ripped a hole in my bean bag chair and spread little polystyrene balls all over our house. Looked like it snowed. Stuff was electrically charged too. It was everywhere.

You'll probably save a bit on electricity with a new, efficient unit- it may take a few years, but it'll eventually pay for itself...
