Virgin Ground And The Little Star Asterion

couch work doesn't count ...

what are you sanding... ? jeebus don't sand the paneling .. it has a gloss finish that will make life hell if trying to presand to paint. would be easier to get a flat white primer. that should stick. feels kind of dusty when dry. ask about it at the paint store.

otherwise get some reflectix and a staple gun. both yee haw and effective with other benefit .. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Sanding the rough floor and waterproofing that with some poly.

don't sand too much. easier to toss some poly on and add a piece of lino or subfloor (chipboard composite) on top.

if the floor boards are super rough, a thin piece of subfloor, poly, then another thin piece of sub is often far less labour intensive and time consuming. i've worked in a lot of houses.

I just plan on a light sanding with poly. I already have the supplies. I have such a tight budget that I can't spend an unnecessary dime. I can always add luxuries later.
I have a list of supplies that I still need and can't really afford.

it's usually the cheap fix lol
i always re use stuff too. the floor in the jungle room is used hockey boards .. :cheesygrinsmiley:

an old piece of lino would be good. there is generally one about free ..

edit : was gonna do a used piece of lino at one point in the jungle room - piece we had was too small

Mornin y'all!:passitleft:

Been busy this morning. Found a few solo cups (thought I was out) and some easily accessible Pro Mix. It looks super delicate to transplant. I can assure you that it was easy as pie and the soil held together beautifully.
I mulched up the shell and mixed it into the soil mix. I'm going to call her Shel, after a favorite childhood writer of mine. Seemed fitting considering her origins.

Continuing on with my slow going project. Had to pull back the exterior paneling and add some blocks to keep the corners tight. Wonky closet. It's been interesting...
Painting tomorrow...hopefully. Building the shelf today.....hopefully.:laughtwo:

Hardest part so far is getting along with the BF. We both have strong opinions.

I think I got my point across last night.
Things need to be accessible for me.
He didn't seem to realize that I'm a half foot shorter than he is. I need to be able to access my carbon filter without pulling everything out or having to crawl up on a shelf , ffs.

Stupid fight. He tends to drown me out so he misses out on vital pieces of info.

Gonna need lots of weed today..and coffee.

Hope you're having a good morning P!

That's the reason I've worked alone for years on all my carpentry jobs. LoL

The plumbing guy I work with is great, he just follows my lead. But, damn! I totally understand how frustrating it can be to work a project with someone of differing opinions. LoL

Makes for a long day...

:passitleft:

Yes. I get super frustrated. I prefer working alone if at all possible.
I just can't bend very well for long periods of time so can't go solo on this one.

Last night wasn't that bad. One of our shorter and less unpleasant disagreements. I was laughing. I think he was tired and hungry and missed his beer. Lmao.

Hoping things go smoother after our chat last night.

Good morning VG!
Just wanted to say hi and I hope you have a great day with Bob the Builder! Remember, it's all about the magic ;)
Highya Mr.S.
Hope you are having a fabulous morning!!!

I'm in a great mood. Feel like myself again and despite of or because of (not sure) all of the extra bending, my back feels really good. I'll just enjoy it.

That is great news and I'm glad to hear it. You needed some relief and hopefully things will stay in check for a while! :hugs:

crappy the taj mah closet is causing stress.
it's important you get things set up the way you need though. some good planning now will save miles of trouble ahead.

glad you feel better today... :)

Exactly. Planning is key!
It should go much smoother today. I mentioned to him that this is my canniversary present to myself. I think he felt kinda bad.
I don't think he realized exactly what I was up to.

I'm going to be in a zen happy place in my head. I will just nod and speak as little as possible.

No problemo.:laugh::rofl::laugh::rofl:
