That's the carbon filter for the extraction. It does take up a bit of space but that's the smallest one I could find that did the job. Recently found one that's the same diameter but a little shorter so I'll give that a go when this one needs replacing. Likely after this grow. It's only a couple of degrees cooler outside and I can't really move her out there. Kids and neighbours might get curious. I started using the silica on the last grow as I knew it was going to get rammed in there and thought it might help.
 
Can you push air through the filter instead of suck through it? if you can use something like a old cotton tshirt over the hole in cabinet wall as a prefilter to the carbon scrubbing to keep out bits of debris

In theory yes but it wouldn't be as effective and probably wouldn't move enough air. I only have a 5V USB case fan extracting to keep noise down. Also I'd have to find a way to hide ducting and the filter if I did that. Has to be stealthy. To be honest I don't lose a huge amount of space. I can still get some buds growing under there. Would be nice to have those extra inches but have to just make do. Sucks being somewhere that still has ridiculous laws regarding this sort of thing. I've had the house letting agent stood in the same room doing an inspection and not notice a thing. Ha ha.

Well when put this way it sounds like you have that cabinet perfected and I think my advice is more suited to a less stealth system with noisy ass fans :laugh: You would get suspicious even a room over lol
 
My system you know those dryer vents in a window going 24/7 are not for a dryer when that vent is in the back and smells like laundry not skunk but I live in Canada and I wish everyone could grow care free. Thankfully we have :420:on our side

Exactly mate. I tried a 4" inline on the first grow and it was too noisy. One died after about 3 hours. So then I went with this option and it's worked the best and remained stealthy. It's been fun designing, building and adapting along the way. When I eventually buy my own home I'll get a proper sized set up.

Too right. I'm hoping it changes within my lifetime. What annoys me the most is that the country I live in is the world's largest exporter of medical cannabis. Well it was last time I read a year back. How hypocritical can you get?

I've actually been thinking about moving us all to Canada at some point. I could get a job quite easily with the company I work for now. Thinking in 3-5 years when my eldest has finished secondary school.

Had to Google Tilray and that's a US company. I'm the UK. British Sugar are churning it out for GW pharmaceuticals. Google UK largest exporter of medical cannabis. Boils my piss.
 
So after turning the QB up the temp has hit 36C. Can't be having that. So I've turned it back down a bit and raised the pot a bit closer. Put a bottle of water in the freezer to go in the cabinet tomorrow. Pot was drying quite quickly so she's had a sprinkle with some silica too. She won't get anymore until she really needs it now.

Temps suck right now mate, I’m hot my tent is hot my kids are making me even hotter so fecked, can’t wait till this fooks off. Good luck anyway man my temps hit 33 yesterday :( thinks you should be fine with a seedling has they like it hot and humid but 36 is way to much 32 I don’t think would bother her if humidty is high
 
Also the laws here drive me insane just let a guy like grow one or two plantS, no damage done, I think this government definitely needs to legalise cannabis to help get them out of the huge financial situation that has hit UK after covid - it would lower crime the list goes on and it really pisses me off. Think I read some where that if we legalised it the country would make 6 billion a year and that’s at a low estimate and would save a further 3 billion on the illegal cannabis industry - I believe it will happen one day here after all the old farts have retired from government

MP Crispin Blunt (great name), is doing some good work with the Conservative Drug Policy Reform Group and working with charities like Heroic Hearts UK. Things are starting to move in the right direction but as always, way too slowly. Fingers crossed the momentum picks up even more.

Haha yes that is a great name, I hope so man, it’s horrible having a slight bit of paranoia constantly when your literally just keeping your self to your self. I believe it will happen one day. Hope the temps don’t get ridiculous for you today, mine is already 30 :(
