Vacuum Sealed Jars

I heard that vacuum sealing cures in 1/2 the time as conventional jar curing. Has anyone got experience with that?
I saw this on amazon: FoodSaver Wide-Mouth Jar Sealer

What are your thoughts?

I have done it and yes it works. I do not like the bags at all. They tend to press on buds to much and break trichomes to much. Vacuum jars are the way to go. Just remember to poor them out of jar once a day to breath

That's useful info. Thanks CO!
Did you find the curing to be faster? any issues with doing it this way?

not much faster for curing needs oxygen so you have to open to let it in. It is the best hands down to keep it fresh. Now you do not need to buy a freaking vacuum sealer to do this. You can do it this way as well for way cheaper. vaccuum seal a mason jar with a shop vac and a turkey bag.Put the jar in the bag with the lid on it....but with the smallest gap on one edge to allow air to escape. Gather the opening on the turkey bag around the tip of the shop vac and squeeze down to form a seal. When you turn the vac on it will suck the lid down. It makes the button pop when you unseal it

I know this is an old post but I can't even grasp in visual what you are saying you are doing.
Maybe I need to know what a 🦃 🛍️ is though to understand. 😂

Wish someone would make a video of this and post a link to it being done.

I just don't understand how you can vac seal a ball jar with the lids they come with.

The gizmo in the first msg will do it. The plastic hose will connect the pump which is found on one of the vacuum machines that seals the plastic bags. I tried the gizmo and it worked about 1/2 of the time from my experience. The idea is to put the lid on the jar and screw the ring on till it just barely is holding the lid down. It will not be as tight as when using the canning jars and lids in a pressure cooker. IOW, it is just barely snug.

When the gizmo is running it will pull air from the jar and the vacuum in the jar is just enough to hold the lid down and maintain the seal. Then finish tightening the ring and job done so go on to the next jar.

I had a hard time getting the gizmo to work and made several calls to the company. Even their tips did not help enough to make it worth the effort. Tried several times over the years in an attempt to use the jars for food storage and finally gave up and tossed the gizmo and hoses.
