Keeping an eye on these too.

Raised the lights to 24inches above the canopy. I feel better that they are a little higher. I will adjust the light accordingly now.

Looking good. That blurple light still looks both kinda cool and kinda weird to me, like "In the future, we will grow plants under solid-state lamps, the color of which will be customized to the absorbance of chlorophyll." :icon_cool

That will be so sick.

Do they have any lights like that now?

That's why LED grow lights are red and blue--those are the colors in which chlorophyll absorbs light. Plants doesn't really use green or yellow light, so LED lamps don't have LEDs of those colors, which makes the light more efficient. Or at least that's the theory.

Like I said, it's so futuristic! ;) When I first saw red and blue LED lights at Seattle Hempfest years ago, I was like, "Huh?" But now I remember that the new, higher efficiency Gro Lux lights that we were excited about in the 1970s had a similar, purplish hue. They must have chosen phosphors for the fluorescent tubes that emitted in the red and blue.

Good morning everyone,

Day 17

Ricky ( the lights have been at 24 inches for 12 hours now. The curling doesn't look as bad as it did last night. If another 12 hours go by and it looks the same I'll raise the light another 4 inches.

I plan on feeding Saturday or Sunday. Depending on how moist my medium is.

In regards to PH'n my H2O in my mind I'm going to do this.

Get my water to the right PH, add nutes, test, and adjust PH. Any more solid ideas? Let me know. I'm going to study more into PH today as well.

Everyone have a great Friday.

They're looking good!

Do bear in mind that those leaves may not ever come back to looking perfectly normal. My outdoor coco grow got crisped a little in a long spell of extra sunny weather here and looked just like Ricky's leaves. My leaves never did fully recover.

I think you can skip adjusting pH the first time and just do it after your mix.
Also, I found that the pH of my nutes came out to about 6.x without adjustment, which was in the coco OK zone, so I stopped bothering with the pH adjustment.

It looks like things are going well there. Thanks for posting. :)

Been keeping an eye on your grow but hurricane Harvey has had me busy.

I just noticed something that I wanted to share (and maybe it's been said already, and apologize if it has) but, if you air circulation isn't really, really precise, you might have a mold problem coming down the road. The only reason I say this is that if your girls, because I noticed that your beautiful kids are really down deep in those buckets. Air circulation is pinnacle to a great grow. IMO. The moisture from the media needs to escape and if your canopy of water leaves builds a terrarium because of the depth, you may have issues. Make sense. Sorry, I'm an engineer

Good evening all,

Reporting out day 17. I think the light is finally at the right height for now. It's 24 in above the canopy. Haven't moved it since last night. Plants are looking healthy. Time to take some pics and do some LST before bed time!

Thanks to all the continued support along the way.

I will go to the store tomorrow to get the pipe cleaners now that the branches are long enough to tie down for better LST! I hope you all enjoy the pics.

What can I do to improve the air circulation? I have a little fan in here right now?

The picture you posted of Rickey (or Rikki, cause it's a girl) was the concern. Her leg is a little brown from the surface area and my buddy, Mr. (Or Mrs.) Lahey 2 has a beautiful green leg all the way to the dirt. The mojo flows thru that leg. No one says that you can't get a recirculating fan that is point straight down. On very low speed, of course. I just want to see a spectacular grow.

I think you may be talking about bubbles. Only one with a little brown stock. It's because he was the experiment i bent him on accident and it's been brown at that spot ever since the beginning. It's weird it's also the runt plant. I will get more fans
