I got a little harvest update today.. I hit my goal this month but I'm rather unhappy with the Blueberry. The taste and smell are way to mild for me. Taking a big wiff or hit doesn't scream blueberry like I wanted. The nuhs came out super dense though and the high is really happy with no burnt out feeling. I need to start puffing this during the day because these Urkle crosses are putting me on my ass.

Urkle x 1
My least favorite pheno.. Trichome production wasn't really there and neither was bud size or yield. Super hairy and a little leafy for my liking. Then I smoked some and wow, she killed it in the flavor department. Super gassy berry taste that stings you nostrils. Very little creamy flavor but that limey gas crossed well with the berry flavor... She's my favorite to smoke due to the taste but due to her other faults she won't be grown again..

Urkle x 2
Thus pheno was a nice mixture of the other two. She wasn't as frosty or dense as 3 and not as gassy as 1 but a nice inbetween. Yield was nice on this lady, I've 2oz and the buds turned out nice.. Lots of color. I have a clone of this lady but I'm still unsure if I'll keep her..

It's all dry, I actually smoked that piece right after i took pics... lol... I couldnt wait. The last pic of both Urkle crosses was after I adjusted the color saturation of my camera. Really makes the colors shine. It really shows what the Urkle can do and a little of it's potential as a parent. I think Purple Urkle has more in her than my cut is expressing. I'm thinking of running a s1 project on her similar to Potchimps GDP project to find a better cut..

I've been thinking about trying to run my Platinum Girl Scout Cookies x Cherry OG and find a pheno that's more like the Platinum Girl Scout Cookies, then back-cross it to try to get back to PGSC only.

You trying to get more of the Purple Urkle back in the cross like that by selfing?

I dunno, I'm a little fuzzy on breeding and stuff, but I think if you have an F1 hybrid and self it, the selfed plant might not inherit the traits you expect. Like 25% will have the traits of the male and 75% of the female, or something like that right?

I've got a bunch of Golden Tiger F1 originals, and a Panama x Malawi. I'm thinking about crossing (PGSC x Cherry OG) x (Panama x Malawi). That should bring out some interesting Sativa effects.

Have I asked you what kind of camera you use before? I feel like I did and then got thes oul crushing news it was just a camera phone. I can't get any of my cameras to take pics very well, even with applications that have macro function, exposure settings, so on and so forth. The nug I have in the current Nug of the Month contest is probably one of the best pictures I've taken so far, and even then I never feel like the camera really captures well. Oh well.

I'm really excited to get into these Ace strains. The Panama x Malawi is supposed to be their heaviest yielder. Also got some Bangi Haze I have a feeling is going to make some real bud porn. Colors on their site for it look amazing.

Just a little more color... A strain named "Purple Urkle " should be really purple... my lower nugs never get much color but the crosses I ran had color everywhere.

And yes, I'm using a phone camera. I was using a old Samsung galaxy s4 but I got hustled by Verizon and I'm using a s7 now.. Lots of camera settings to play with. My best pics are usually in natural light or under my t5. I brace my phone on something usually so I can get a nice steady shot. The s7 let's me adjust my contrast, color saturation and brightness that really helps my new pics pop.. I took a couple weeks for me to find a groove with these setting. I kinda wanted a cannon but the only thing I take pics of is weed.. lol...

lol I think you're doing fine without the Cannon. Hmm I have a Samsung Galaxy tab, I wonder if the camera is much different. Maybe I'll try their default camera app, I've been using this one called "Open Camera" instead. But yeah I do most of those same tricks, seems like I get better light with fluorescent as well.

Yeah I've actually never seen purple Purple Urkle. It's funny how the strains that are supposed to be purple end up green, and the strains you don't think of being purple end up the most. I had some Ace of Spades that was seriously the most purple weed I'd ever seen--the only green on it were the stems and sugar leaves. Every calyx looked it could have been a little tiny Crown Royal bag.

Only reason I haven't entered those in the Nug of the Month contest is I didn't grow them. Kind of doesn't feel right to win with someone else's bud lol

Definitely give the tab a try.. The Galaxys seem to have nice cameras. I don't use any apps for pics any more.. I tried a fee and they seemed to make my pics worse...

Yeah I never really got use to using the default camera app, but I have taken some pretty good nature shots with it, so maybe it's worth a shot. Of course now I'll have to wait to harvest before I can take any new pictures lol
 
Wow man you weren't kidding about how close you can get these T5s! I left it literally like an inch away from the top of my biggest plant yesterday afternoon, this morning I figured I should check it in case it's growing fast, and the tip of the leaf was hanging out up and underneath one of the bulbs and the hood *facepalm* Lucky it only got a little singed on the tip, I've had worse nute burn.

Some of the other leaves were taco'ing a little though kind of odd, because others were praying. I moved the light off about 2 inches from them, gonna try that.

Yeah I think it's a pheno because I have never seen any other ace of spades like it
 
That sure is an odd purple/blue color. Major PITA had an outdoor grow with AoS and didn't think I saw colors like that. Impressive*

Well, like I said I didn't grow it, so I really don't know all the details. It was grown by a local dispensary, that was my pay for harvesting. It COULD have been because it was cold and rainy ( late October ), but none of the stems were purple, which is usually what turns purple from cold. If you go onto Leafly you can see some other purple batches in their pictures section though.

That was a fun day. Nothing like hauling off 20 lb rain-soaked colas the size of your arm.

Happy 420 everybody..

Everything is going well on this side of the pond. We have 3 og13 and 2 purple Envys about 4 weeks until flower. There doing good, No complaints. The OG13s all look very similar but it's seems like I have 2 different phenos of Purple Envy. One's tall and one's short.. I don't think I'll top the short one, she's growing too slow.

These are two of my keepers from the Urkle Cross. I'll probably let her go another week and then she's getting forced into flower after I take clones. I cut a bunch of large fan leaves off of one of them as a experiment to see if it promotes lower growth... I'm trying to get them to stretch a little before they flower...
