Two Grows In One: Defoliation vs No Defoliation & Skunk #1 x Blue Dream Feminized Cross

Thanks, Chenzi. Also one thing I have found is that the less you defol, the more you have to trim. I also have found that you tend to trade a bit of the large buds for more larfy bud the less you defol. Then again, if you make lots of concentrates (ISO hash for me), all that larf ends up getting used any way.

The 5th Gog Blue Dream popped today so I put it in the soil. A few days apart should not effect things too much, so back to 4 for the Defol compare.

Looks like 1 of the second drop of 5 Skunk #1 from Newguy is starting to pop too.

Well, it looks like I lost one more of the GoG seedlings to damping off. But all 5 of the New420guy ones are doing good, so looks like those will be the ones used for the defol comparison. Main reason I didn't want to use their line for this is that it is known for throwing some inda leaning phenos, but I will hope for the best.

The GoG Blue Dream will be moved over to the SP250 tent and used in the feminized cross along with one New420guy Blue Dream and what looks to be the Skunk #1 from seedsman, one of those popped today.

Same for me mostly. I read a lot of opinions both good and bad for both ways, so it is time to see what works best for me for photo periods.

Autos I have tended to pretty much leave alone with the exception of some of the lower fan leaves and have got pretty good results so far.

Two weeks from seed update.

All of them were looking a bit deficient so late last week they all got a little bit of water with 6 grams (1/2 tsp) of Mega crop. The skunk and GoG BD responded nicely and all new growth is nice and green and coming in well. One of the GoG BD looks a bit odd shaped and I ended up with 5 of the Skunk, so going to get rid of the odd GoG BD and replace it with the Skunk. Feeding will remain at about 6 grams (1/2 tsp) per gallon and each will get about a quart probably today.

The N420G BD ones still looked a bit yellow so they got a double treatment at 1 tsp per gallon and got about a half gallon of water each about the middle of this week. The growth rate exploded, but still seeing a bit of yellow. Honestly I think it may be a bit of light stress on them at this point since I have two TSL2000 over them at about 36" high and the Lux from my phone is at or over 40K. I will adjust their next feeding to about 10 grams (3/4 tsp) per gallon and give each about a half gallon of water again. Likely a couple days from now since the soil is still a bit moist at the surface still. Going to remove the cotyledon node and the next two nodes after that then going to top them two nodes after that.

Also, plant #2 does look quite a bit different in shape and size compared to the others. Probably a pheno difference.

Blue Dream tent
Just removed the bottom 4 fan leaves from nodes 3 and 4. Looking good so far. Three are pretty similar and one is lagging behind and is definitely a bit of a different pheno. Likely going to make that plant the one I want to see the results from the least like the one I defoliate a bit mid flower.

Cig...great looking bushes already.

Blue Dream tent is looking good and the smaller one looks to be catching up. All just over a foot tall. Never mind the brown leaves. I watered a day later then I should of earlier in the week and they all got a little droopy. They recovered just fine though.

I think I am going to defol tomorrow and start them on flower. I will try to remember get some before and after pics of them.

Skunk tent looks ok, but i have some deficiency I need to figure out. Likely cal-mag. New growth looks better, so may not add more then just some Epsom salt.

Will veg them one more week then into flower for them too.

Started putting colloidal on one of the skunk. Will use what I turn on that one to pollinate the others and itself.
