Tutankhamon & Pineapple Chunk Outdoors In Massachusetts

Here We go on the rollercoaster again. Found these tiny bugs or eggs on the bottoms of the lower branch leaves this morning. Going to hit them with something as soon as I figure out what the hell they are. Cervantes book hasn't given me a positive ID or the google either. Mites? of some sort? What do you think? I'm not able to hit em today so...

Galls, or midges is my best guess looking online and being reassured by someone nice here. They seem to be on the lower darker part of the plant and not killing her quickly. I sprayed the areas with exile early today. I'll be looking for good results tonight and tomorrow.

Chunk sure smells nice these days. Getting a sweet fruit odor. Tut just stinks strong skunk. She's getting a little frost along her sugar leaves as well.

It's the 3rd day and the Defguard is working wonders. Second application this afterevening. Tomorrow the leaves with most of the gall blight thingies are coming off. They might be pregnant so off with their beings. Going in the trash in a bag. They can be somewhere else. It's a good day

Oh boy, ya I see what you mean. I'm trying to get rid of broad mites right now. I'm winning I think, but it's so close to flowering now and I have to ease up a bit. At least you can see yours, not that it's a benefit, but it made my plant a lot harder to diagnose.
First time I've seen your little buggers. Sounds like you got the right controls going though to eliminate them. :goodluck:

Just 4 weeks or so 5 maybe that's all I need

Ok that i have never seen before but bugs are bugs. A good blast of pesticide should work wonders.
I'd hit em hard but I'm trying to keep as organic as possible. Since she's in flower I hope to go hard organic and pulling off the infestation bulk before it gets out of hand. we'll see

It's a glorious day in the yard this morning. These two are grunting it out fighting off the natural elements with a little help from us. Thank you all. Reading your journals is always awakening.
Today I picked a few fans off Lady tut and gave her a good inspection. She's begun to frost pretty well and buds growing nice. Some lower fans are getting yellow and dying. A natural path at this juncture in her pot that looks puny compared to her. The Pineapple chunk got a good looksee and the midges didn't budge since the spray so I took all the fans that had more than 2 or 3 on it and got rid of them in the trash. She is really showing me structure I really like. here's a few pics. First two are tut.

What sort of damage does this critter do to your plant?
Hi Slowpuffer, thats a very good question. At this point, none at all that I could perceive. There's the interesting twist. to consider. I picked most of them off with the leaves. Now I won't have to spray anything if it continues this speed. I hope.

Hey I just made it for the action part, big hug first, we all go through it. Now to avoid bottom mold, do you think it's a good idea to prune the bottom 1/3 away so you can send the energy to the top? My little runt beauty would have gone nicely with your beast. :green_heart:
Hi, mmm hugs are nice right back to you Lady . Your question about bottom mold is a good one and the Christmas tree has a really thick bottom. I'm going to clean the area up in the next few days. I have to truss her up to help her hold her giant sticky buds up. That's when I'm going to defoliate real good near the ground too. The spray for mold is working right now so there's little sign of it today. I'm not going to prune like that. The energy is crazy on this girl. Her branching and bud structure are amazing to me. When I visit long enough to admire and see where the future is going I see energy like all my tent grows in one tree. I gotta sit down i'm getting dizzy thinking. Don't want to jinx things either.

i wouldn't spray anything on the plants, if there's no damage. And If you was going to do any trim, then It should have been done 2-3 wks. ago. At this stage, i wouldn't do anymore trim. i can hardly wait till harvest time !! Favorite time of yr. !!

Thanks for the advice. I however took off a few small branches that were touching the ground. I'll put your advice in memory for the future. Now I have to give these tiny buds a quick dry. Do you think I can remember who posted an awesome tutorial yesterday? Nyet

Ok OK I agree. A bit of thinking about your advise to remove the bottom 1/3. You're right to get some of that off the floor. So I took the shears to her and got up close and personal. Took everything touching the ground off. She;s liberated of those branches holding her down. Now she can rerout her energy and be less prone to get cooties from the ground. BTW Your beauty and my beast. I can get this here at home ya know.

Hi, you saw the last pics of P. chunks cut off budlets, yup I quick dried it ala @SweetSue "s post of yesterday. Ms otter and I just pre viewed her a little. We smoked her in a joint. To me the taste was of burning tires with a back taste of rotting oak leaves. For the tiniest of popcornetteiest bud, they got me pretty high.

HAHAHAHAHA that was a pretty funny description, but I totally know of those tastes too. You know, if you take off more from the bottom and lollipop your tree, you could make oil out of it ALL that you remove as long as there isn't any mold. Because that popcorn bud and leaves are perfect for micro-dosing oil.

I am here for the long haul so it should be interesting how it all turns out.
